I think she does it because it MAKES her tired! I used to work out before bed, because it helped me sleep better. I think the otters hate feeling sleepy, so perhaps she does it to wear herself out. Check this out - Imagine a place where you see Odashi hopping up & down-up & down-up & down, Bob trying to eat while pestered by Wasabi & Namida, Otsuyu constantly knocking over Oage's food bowl with a confused look on his face (for being a naughty little cheater!), chonki Hana juggling things in her paws back & forth, Professor Kotaro scratching his 🥜, looking up now & then with his big ol' buggy eyes, smelling his fingers and then continuing his scratching, Captain Aty + Ui in the water swimming around and fetching bits of sweet fish tossed by Otterman , Bingo + Belle - happily chomping down on cucumbers, and lastly, Komugi would be just chillin' on a little hammock, not a care in the world, just chillin! Sounds of "NYAM NYAM NYAM!" "CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP!" When Odashi and Otsuyu lie in your arms, trustingly resting their heads on your chest - this is a beautiful picture. It's not a pity for that. I envy you with white envy. I would really like to support the otters in my arms for at least 10 minutes.
You are the best trainer for Odashi. She has athletic needs, probably the pole vaulting. But sometimes, also neurologically, they are maybe trying to release pain. In humans this is Asburgers disease
Wow she really jumps alot! such energy! I wonder if she does that to get your attention cause you go to her and start counting, she watches you as you count, then you praise her and give her love and attention when she stops. She knows if she keeps it up, she has your undivided attention, she gets praise and its a way for her to get rid of excess energy, win win situation for her :)
I love Odashi, she’s crazy, but I like crazy, she’s also very sweet and loveable, she’s also keeping herself in good condition with all that jumping, xxx
I know when I should go to sleep but am not tired, it helps if I do sudoku, then my brain gets tired and I can sleep. Perhaps Odashi feels that jumping helps her to sleep better.
