Epic
He was one of the greatest and most grossly underrated Soul singers of all time. His range was unparalleled and his depth of feeling and raw power was on a level not seen even in a genre which boasts the greatest singers of all time. He should have been as big as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett among many others. Sadly, he never had the exposure and hit material necessary to break through.
Ain’t nothing like the blues!!!
Classic Soul

This is where Leslie Wilson from New Birth got his style from!
never thought of this angle, interesting.
Great song! Reminds me of Charlie Sledge at the 82nd club or the E-4 club and can't forget the D2 club! All at Fort Bragg , N.C. with the Soul Serenaders ! Those were the days!!!
I remember when this song first came out J did a show at one of our local clubs. It was on a Wednesday night and the line to get in the club went on for blocks. It was a great show for such a small town.
Man I loved this song growing up.
Very romantic and touching song of all time
