Late, but Nathan is a particularly Southern beast. Look at how often he hangs onto the bars instead of ditching. I was in some of the same circles, and everyone did it. It was probably a subconscious thing at the time, but in the South you go down with the ship. Damn the torpedoes, as they say.

Some people make fun of bmx but its gotta be one of the toughest sports out there. You dont wanna get in a scrap with a bmxer. I quit bmx because I kept getting injured but I have armor shins from constant beating of pedals bars etc

No. He hit his shin on his front peg rather than the fence. I thought the same thing too, but had to look at it twice

Most all of the attempts are amazing in nature. But the physics of the situation clearly tells the rider that there is a 1% chance you can pull this off and a 99% chance you're going to wipe out on concrete head first going very fast. So.....why no helmets again???
