Great video. Just placed my order. Personally, I think this is the perfect fit for someone who is looking for something different in design, occasional gamer, primary use for business productivity.
I’ve had mine for almost a year. I think I am going to have to try to get a refund. There were huge issues in games crashing the whole computer or huge drops in frames. We had a guy come in and replace a huge chunk of the computer and it still has issues. We’ve run all the tests for the computer to see if there are any software problems and there aren’t. Very dissapointed
Just receive my x14. but just watching youtube, I am only getting about 2.5 hours of battery life. I thought the average was about 6.5 hours, am I doing something wrong? I am in battery efficient mode and dark mode theme as well
did you switch to Silent mode?, also change display rate to variable 144/72hz and go to balanced power mode in Windows and set the CPU from 100% to 99% so it does not turbo, make sure youre in automatic optimus mode
We have the new G14 in for review and will be commenting on that soon. I will say it doesn't quite match the x14's build quality though. This is a really premium build.
It really depends on your needs. If you'd like something small, thinner and lighter and don't mind trading off some performance for that, then the x14 is the way to go. However, if you're an all out gamer and don't mind a larger format machine, the x17 R2 (I think is what you meant?) is the right play.
@@elmalloc We're pretty slammed at the moment so no video yet, but here's our deep dive review on that machine at HotHardware - hothardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-6000-asus-zephyrus-g14-2022-review - In short, excellent performance but the build quality isn't to the level of the x14.
Yes, a lot better. The rx6800s sits between the 3070 max q and 3080 max q (100w), closer to the 3080. Also, while the amd card has a 105 w tdp, the gpu on the x14 has a 75w tdp, so performance is not even close. If they both had the same w, the rx6800s would still win because of the tier it is located in. (mentioned before).

I haven't seen the Blade 14 personally but I think the build quality of the Alienware x14 is WAY ahead of the ASUS machine. And I'm not sure about the commenter below, but this machine also hangs in the benchmarks with RTX 3070 class laptops. @@mirzaarslaan The x14's thermals aren't bad at all for the size machine it is, with its horsepower. The warmest part of the machine was just under the display, which only reached about 122ºF. The bottom of the machine got a bit warm as well, but not uncomfortably so, at least during the winter here in New England.
