I am, in this very moment, going to protest the cadence that has be fallen this community. CGB videos have undergone a cosmic scaled variation. The runtime of these tapings are minuscule comparatively to there customary runtime. Henceforth, I have come to protest and moan. Here I go moaning again….. Oh yeah😫
21:40 yeah I've been seeing blast zone pop up a lot more recently. You can wipe an entire board of mono red 1 drops or soldier 2 drops. It's incredible
This - is - monoblack We - FARM - monored Monoblack - Monoblack Aggro red - they're all dead We - play - four corrupts Graveyard - we trespass Their warfare - mechanized Invoke despair - we survive This - is -monoblack.... Please complete the ballad for me.
So I built this deck, didn’t have enough to make the shakedowns, I added two more removal and one morbid opportunist and I think an extra underground. The morbid opportunist has great chemistry with creature removal and drawing extra cards
Damn bro, got to say, lookin fly. Like the hair and the sweater combo. Bringing that suave look to arena. Great video btw, doing my part to comment and get that shit on the algorithm
I've been playing this but replaced the demon with fell stinger because I don't have that card and I feel like I'm going to accidentally punch my own ticket with it. Here's my case for fell stinger though; you can 2->3 drop it to crew bankbuster, combos with sheoldread to put out a 6 damage punch which is likely what your hitting corrupt or possibly invoke despair with, card draw (and healing combo with sheol) if you need it to close out against control focused decks, it's a 3 attack which is not bad, it has deathtouch so is useful defensively. It just synergizes so well and has so many options. Worst case scenario you play it defensively and you're overpaying for the 3 attack stat on a trade.
CGB Ty for this build. I am having a blast playing with the shakedown heavy. 6/4 blocker that gets me a free card every turn for 3 mana? Yes please. I love the awkward opponent pause when I attack with him. It’s a win either way. Want to lose one of those annoying infect critters, take six damage or let me draw a card… I’m good wi5 any of those options. And when he comes out he is one heck of a wall against even mono green. Just finished a game where I had both out and opponent kept opting to have me draw until the inevitable corrupt ended the festivities.
For the next 48 hours following a CGB video, the meta becomes the deck he played.... I've faced his Corrupt Burn deck in 5/8 of the games played today!
I liked this deck a lot at first glance, tried it out, but after a good 40 games, I must say it falls short quite a bit. Maybe it's a bit of variance (I had the one evening where I was on the draw 9 games in a row), maybe it's the occasional misplay (I wanted to crew that Bankbuster, not draw, dammit!), but I can't even seem to maintain a solid 50% winrate. Monowhite seems unbeatable, I'm 0-6 in that particular matchup. Esper poses similar problems. The only deck I can reliably farm is Monored (yay!), but the rest of the matchups are so-so. Shakedown and the Archfiend usually eat immediate removal for some reason - a timing issue, as most opponents still have removal in hand when it comes down? Toshiro, while a lifesaver vs. Monored, doesn't seem to do much otherwise. Just one Shelly seems a little sus, there's so many times I would have wished for one (although she has similar problems to the Archfiend).
Just went 20 - 8 through platinum with this decklist 4 of the losses to other mono black decks. Very well rounded deck - only one or two games that could've been turned with infernal grasp over go for the throat - does anyone have any insights in balancing this? 🤔
Thanks been running your old version lol love corrupt I started just before 7th so... I remember when it was god tier deck entomb buried alive was a back up strat...let that sink in
Wish I could play against these top tier aggro decks when playing this….7 games, grixis control, and djinn tempo, all on the draw. Like I know they’re the top decks because that’s all I’ve played against on some days but holy hell.
Just watched to Crokeyz speed run breakdown from CGB and this deck could be an option for CGB's attempt as the "pay-to-win" player. It still has 16 Uncommons and runs all basics *shoulder shrug*
🙂What about with the knowledge that "farm" can also be used as a verb in video gaming culture where "farming" players means easily beating ones strategy by easily exploiting it's weaknesses. 🤖In the context of video gaming culture, "Back to the Farm" could have a different meaning. If "farm" is used as a verb referring to the practice of "farming" players, it can imply going back to a strategy that involves exploiting the weaknesses of opponents to gain an advantage or amass resources with ease. In this scenario, "Back to the Farm" could be used in situations where a player decides to return to a tried-and-true method of taking advantage of less skilled or less prepared players, particularly in competitive games. For example, if a player has experimented with a new strategy but found it less effective than their previous approach, they might say they are going "Back to the Farm" to signify their return to the more successful farming strategy. This gaming-specific meaning differs from the more general interpretations of the phrase that relate to rural life, simplicity, and nostalgia.
@covertgoblue really happy with your channel but I hate that your new webcam position sometimes covers up planeswakers. The old spot was great , nothing there but the pet ❤
Oh CGB. You filthy casual. You're only building around ONE card from that cycle at a time? I built around 4 of them with one deck the last time this cycle popped up. Back in the good old Shadowmoor days we had Corrupt, Jaws of Stone (spray damage), Flow of Ideas (straight card draw), and Howl of the Night Pack (Instant army of 2/2s). It would have been 5, but the white one was an unplayable trash aura. One of the lynch pin cards for that deck is even back in standard now: Elsewhere Flask. The other being Prismatic Omen. It was a 5C G ramp deck that generally landed on 10-12 mana by Turn 6, often with enough time for an efficient sweeper to keep the aggro decks at bay. The removal package was largely Oblivion Rings and Firespouts, with Corrupt and Jaws of Stone pulling double duty as removal and finishers. I still can't figure out how or why the deck worked, but it did so far better than any meme deck has any right to claim. My favorite win with this ludicrous clown show of a deck was at an FNM. Round 1. I sit down, shuffle, and present. My opponent takes one look at the sleeves, has a terrified realization about what I'm playing, says to me "You win, two-zero." and walks away from the table. Of course, there's some backstory to that win, nobody cares. The point is I trolled a guy so hard that he scooped to me at a different FNM on the (correct, but he didn't know it) assumption that I was playing my meme deck.
The matchmaking system is ridiculous. With every other deck, 70% of the enemies are monored, now with this, I played 20 match, 1 mono red was involved, all others were control decks wich I never saw before and have perfect answers for this deck.... I am thinking to delete this game, and it is sad because I really like magic, playing for 16 years now, but this matchmaking system makes it totally unenjoyable. I don't know what is the purpose of this system, why don't just give random enemies like on irl tournaments? The ranking system don't have any purpose paired with this crap.
I just played 12 games with this deck on ladder and faced mono red 1 time then a bunch of decks that deal with it and went 4-8...matchmaker and shuffler are fine like the game I needed corrupt to land for a win and couldn't draw a 6th land with 2 bankbusters out drawing 3 cards each turn 😂😂😂
Bankbuster needs the banhammer for no reason other than being so good it fits in literally every bloody deck ever. There's like no reason not to run at least one. 🤔🤷♂️
@@PedroSantos-tg6ew even in aggro its pretty dece as a 4/4 for 2 mana. Often getting a few more draws to stay in the game is nice even for an aggro deck. Especially if said aggro deck cares about artifacts. Admitedly it's not fast enough for monored, but all they care about is hasty creatures, burn and extra damage, and that isn't that. And monoblue tempo only cares about instants and creatures that synergize with instants, and that isn't that. But like... every _other_ deck is happy to run it.
Anyone else notice how laughable the shuffler is with djinn decks? These trash cans are running 8 creatures and see 6 of them in their top 20 cards every single game... Consider what would happen if you ran 8 lands in paper magic, do you honestly think you can count on drawing 3-4 every game like these clowns draw djinn/terror? The entire djinn and venerated rotpriest archetype can only exist with a busted shuffler or we're all idiots for running more than 15 lands because apparently that's way more than enough to see 4 a game.
NGL this deck is awful, it doesn't handle anything, expect if they draw crap. it can't touch artifacts, it can't touch creature removal spam, it can't touch planeswalkers or really any of the meta decks. It is just bad. Literally everything runs it over, top 2% mythic player here and it lost 11 out of 12 games.
I feel bad for you CGB. Always playing against white or red aggro. I can feel your pain in how monotonous standard is as a result. Seeing the same opponents over and over again is just blahh. Have some creativity you mtg arena dudes. Please

“I’m gonna Corrupt the Chick…”

How to get a win rate like CGB: Play so many games that you recognize opponents and make mulligan choices based on that.

CGB out here farming Phoenix Chicks like he's a Tyson Foods subcontractor.
Patience is my biggest challenge!
You should have shown a game against mono red so we could see how it deals with it
the first game?
what about the second game too
idk if you saw the third game but i think he’s got one there aswell
game 4 was mono red….
that’s it, those are the only games where he played against red, you are welcome
I still contend that a Corrupt to the face feels better than Invoke Despair. Especially Vs aggro.
As someone who plays both, I couldn't agree more
Slaanesh is very pleased while Khorn hides in shame 🤣
