  • This video offers you 3 options to mount saddlebags on your classic motorcycle.
    Don't mind the look of the saddlebag, it's the system that matters here. Once you know which system you prefer, you can check with us which saddlebags are available with that particular system.
    This is not an in-depth video, but rather a quick comparison to help you get a feel of the key distinctions between the different mounting systems.
    #1 - CUSTOM LOXX
    Quick-release system that works with a leather support that you need to install on your motorcycle first - usually, under the seat. You cannot adjust the height position of the saddlebag. It's super quick to attach, and detach your bag from the motorcycle.
    A saddlebag frame / holder / spacer is not an obligation, but you will probably find that you need one to make your installation safer and easier.
    #2 - SADDLEBACK
    Autonomous system that doesn't require a pre-installed separate support.
    The straps system allows you to set the height of your bag - a unique feature. This is not a quick-release system, so you will need to undo the straps to take off the bag. It does not take long by any means, but something to consider. A saddlebag frame / holder / spacer is often necessary to easily mount the straps - unless you have a pair of saddlebags in which case you can link them up, and that opens to new options.
    #3 - SIDEKICK
    Quick-release system that requires a compatible saddlebag holder from Longride. You need to work a little at first to install the clamp on the back of your saddlebag (instructions available on RUclips). But after that, it's the easiest and quickest mounting system available.

    I am so glad I found this video. I don't always like to carry saddlebags (or maybe I just want one for the day), so your LOXX system blew me away. Looks so much better off the bike than an empty pannier bracket and it's such a quick on & off! Buying a set for my new Bonnie for sure.

    They have small slide locks for the kick back bags to prevent them from sliding

    These videos are very helpful when choosing saddlebags. The sidekick system looks very secure!
    Are there any plans to develop pannier guards for a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650?

      Thanks Benjamin, yes we are working on the Royal Enfield brackets right now ;) They are nearly ready, and you'll be able to use the Sidekick system with them. All the best!

    they look good and it's great that you can lock them onto the bike, but can you lock the bags ?

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  7 месяцев назад

      Hi! Thanks for your feedback, it depends on the bags basically, you can lock most of them. If you look up the Longride Racer for example, you can padlock the flap. On the Patriot saddlebag it will be a different technic but doable. Some panniers you cannot, so it's something to consider when choosing the bags if that is an important aspect for you.

    Looking for the perfect vintage backpack/ napsack for Vespa trips. Don't want a lot of bell & whistles. Your Faithful pack is perfect. Ever any sales or promo's to make your purchases a bit easier to decide on?

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  2 года назад

      Hi, thanks for your feedback! I'm afraid we only run offers during black friday. The reason is, we never has any stock surplus as we handcraft few quantities at a time. However we really stand by our craft and aim for your backpack to last a lifetime, so I think that this is the main factor to think about when it comes to decide on that purchase ;)

    Is it possible to add system 3 (klickfix) on the original side bag bracket? Tnky

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  Год назад +1

      Hi Ernesto, if you mean using the klickfix / sidekick clamp system shown in the video on a stock bracket from Triumph, the answer is no I'm afraid. We need specific measurement on the bracket for the clamp to hold and lock onto.

    is it waterproof?

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  2 года назад

      Hi! The bags are water resistant and customers are usually surprised at how dry their things are after a bad shower. But to make your luggage 100% waterproof ie. making sure rain cannot touch your gear, we have waterproof liner you can insert into the saddlebags.

    You have any bags and brackets for a Honda 2014 Cb 1100

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  4 месяца назад

      Hi! We don't have brackets for your Honda specifically so I would look at our universal systems. Like a pair Mini Patriot SB for example that you mount directly on the frame of your motorcycle.

    Hi, I’m very interested in the saddle back throw over system but I’m wondering if they are secure enough for me to leave them on the bike on public road? Are there any locking design like the sidekick system? I really like the style without the mounting frame.

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  3 года назад

      Have a look at our LOXX system that allows you to have the same style as throw-overs, but also enables you to use locks to secure the bags onto the motorcyle.

    1:35 "You can slide it" - That seems like an issue, not like a feature. How do I secure the bags with that mounting system so the DON'T slide?

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  3 года назад

      It's been a feature mostly but we understand you might want it fully locked, we are looking into this, we think there is an easy fix for that. Thanks!

    • @Remymoto
      @Remymoto 3 года назад +1

      @@the.longride Seems like folks could easily put a thin strip of adhesive backed rubber on the upper support. Thin enough it still latches, but enough to provide a little extra grab. Heck, if they always want it in the same spot a little screw on clamp around the supports in front and behind the sidekick would do it. $5 at the hardware store, some black or chrome spray paint to match... It lacks the elegance of a fully engineered solution, but it works if someone had an issue.

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  3 года назад

      @@Remymoto true! these are easy fixes, it really is no that hard to prevent the sliding if required. This reminded me to look into an engineered solution today ;) thanks!

      @@the.longride Did you find a solution on this? Looking to buy a set of bags soon and am trying to decide between the saddleback and side kick. I love the idea of the side kick, but I don't want them sliding around at speeds or if I bump them.

    Is your product waterproof?

    • @the.longride
      @the.longride  2 года назад

      Hi! The saddlebags are made from thick weather resistant waxed-cotton. They are fairly waterproof as they are. But if you think of riding under the rain often, or for long, we have waterproof liner bags that you can insert inside to further protect your things.
