These words are giving me the chills and the tears. I'm so grateful to you for speaking this message which all of us feel deeply in our hearts.

Yes, down the line. I am very familiar with your work and it is a relief to listen to your insights. I have seen you twice in Portland, Oregon (gave you Blackberries that last time you were here.) Thank you for putting into words what rambled/rambles around in my heart and brain, since “Silent Spring” was first published, when I was in high school. I was always the happiest out in nature. I always liked indigenous people and Amish people better than my immediate surroundings in a Philadelphia suburb. (Thank the Goddess that my parents would not let us have a television until I was in junior high school so until then I played outside in nature.) Fortunately, I am a wise and self disciplined and deeply rooted optimist. I am with you all the way in doing all I can to support the Living Earth. I feel blessed whenever I can learn more from indigenous people like Pat McCabe. I am focussed on the permaculture food forest that we are developing on 1/4 acre in Portland, Oregon, and doing all I can too advocate for the Living Earth. Blessings :)

The Earth with all of its inhabitants is just mind-bogglingly awesome!
I have been following your work since "Sacred Economy" that straightaway captured my imagination. I have read your books and found sanity and heart in them. Exactly what we need at this crucial turning-point in our history!
From a young age I was very aware of the natural world around me - including seasons, the weather and of course plants and animal cousins. I cried over a bee whose wings were torn off by some boys - as a little girl I loved watching the bees collecting nectar from the flowers all throughout the summer and I was never afraid of them stinging me, they were my friends and I gave them a lot of respect. The sentiments of respect, awe and love never left me - I am now 66....and I take my little granddaughter on a tour in my tiny garden every day when she is with me. She is 14 months old and she does notice the wind and loves the pansies and roses and stroking the bark of trees in the park.....

I was in deep ecology...we were called nazis. And we were as we had no options of love and regenerative options to offer people who needed "answers." "Holding each place as sacred" .ahhhhh. Changing our consciousness into connection with all seems essential. And we have great support even the "new sciences" tell us we are in morphic fields of resonance. I have heard other say as I have felt when we discover this "conversation" especially if we have been abused and non-attached as babies, we feel more connected, held and healed. We want to serve nature, the great Mother and life naturally.

You are totally right! Love for the planet is the reason why we should keep earth alive, protect Gaia. It's a beautiful planet with amazing creatures! It's so beautiful, it shines! That is more than enough reason why we should protect her and her inhabitants! Thank you for your voice.

Greed=I am concerned, but will not trade my comfort, CONvience or livelyhood. Sacred=I will giveback what I have taken. I honor my host and the life given to me. I will learn from any mistakes I make and tread softly learning evermore. I will take responsibility for myself and my family, teaching love and respect. I am a small piece of a much larger puzzle and yet I am matter and effect the whole picture. I choose love. I choose life. I choose to be a healthy part of the whole.

Environmentalist? Ecologist? Environmentalism is about reducing the impact of modern life on nature, without a real change of paradigm. It is an instrumentalisation of nature -that separate (and somehow frightening) thing we need to control. With its intrinsic double-binds (consume but reduce consommation), environmentalism is more likely to become oppressive. I hear you are more an ecologist, @Charles Eisenstein, that is to aspire to a change of paradigm in respect of nature as the supra-organisme we are part of. And to coordinate wide human mouvement, humans use myths. You certainly participate to the emergence of a renewed healthy and universal myth. Your work is so important! Thank you!

I relate to so much said here. I see Global Warming as a symptom of a way more complex malady. The suppression of this symptom through pragmatic efforts is not enough... A change of consciousness is required. Love. A recovery of the sense of Sacredness in all that is... 💖🙏🏽✨🌎✨🙏🏽💖

Charles, to support "love based policies rhetoric, love based strategies, love based policies", one must by extension support the only candidate who is championing the deepest ideas for the highest office and that's, Marianne Williamson. The destruction of all the sacredness is due to the rapaciousness of capitalism, only an idea whose timely demise cannot happen soon enough. A bitter pill for most Americans to swallow, because, they wallow in that ideology, as a cultural thingy.

I deeply resonate with what you are saying and your experience of a youth is very similar to mine. I remember getting very sad when I first heard about climate change as a child. A sense of hopelessness, etc.
However, I am starting to see that a lot of these environmental issues are being used by people with certain political agendas to hijack the innate compassion people have towards the planet. For instance, it is starting to appear that what is going on in the Amazon is not what it appears, but a narrative is being spun and data is skewed for political purpose.
It is difficult to know the true state of where the planet is, as I am now realizing many catastrophic predictions were overblown (acid rain in the 90s for one example) and people's emotions are being played with for political motivations.
We really do not know what is happening in the Amazon, but based on the NASA data which has totally been omitted from any mainstream news stories, the amount of fires in the Amazon is at a normal level compared to the previous 15 years. They are using fudged data and I think it has more to do with the globalists wanting to frame the ulta right-wing president of Brazil.
But if we believe the narratives that are being produced about the Amazon, it can cause a great deal of emotional stress that might all be based on a fiction.
No doubt we are in the midst of great planetary changes and transformations, and there are definitely desecrations occurring, but we have to parse out what is true from what is a fabrication of a highly controlled media which manufactures scenarios to sway public opinion.

I so wish I could agree with this view. I have lived in Brazil, so have many friends there. Based on these witnesses, breathing the smoke of these fires, I can assure you the situation there is truly dramatic. Not quite "manufactured propaganda"... And indeed it has an effect on the Planet as a whole, whatever political perspective we may hold. 🕊🌎💖

@@Liminarts The fact that you lived in Brazil at one point in time and that you have friends who live in Brazil does not give more credit or proof to the narrative being presented to us. Your friends presumably don't have an aerial view of the Amazon. They are still most likely hearing news about what is going on, not directly experiencing what is happening even though they live in the same country. There are many fires in the Amazon every year. My intuition and a deeper dive into the data and information surrounding it tells me it is different than what is being told. Don't want to argue though.

@Joseph Seeley I agree. But everything is so contradictory. While I do not doubt what you are saying, I have read reports saying there is more tree coverage worldwide now than at any point in the last hundreds of years.
I am not doubting that we are despoiling the planet, but I do wonder if constant focus on what is going wrong can create doubt, inaction and a false sense of what is really happening at a global/collective level. Things could be improving in some ways and disintegrating in others.
Obviously it takes a very long time to create a biodiverse forest, but I do wonder if in general there is a level of alarmism about what is going on at a global scale.

There are more people on Earth who hold space for Earths highest well being and formidable nature than those who don’t. Most people don’t worry about “her” so much which is a good thing because worry promotes worry. Therefore those people are trusting her more unconsciously which is also perfect. If love and energy is all there is, then love and pure positive energy will prevail. What we give our attention to will prevail. Earth is holding herself in perfect orbit. She is stable and knows how to reinvent herself over and over. She is unlimited. As we are all. ❤️
