I got the NEX-5T for $300 with two lenses, sold the two lenses so basically got it for $40. Deals like that make the newer NEX models so much more worth it than older NEX models like you said!
I paid £44 ($60?) - three days ago - fully boxed in mint condition with all the accessories. I already had four adapters for my MF lenses from when I owned a Sony A6000. Now I have reverted back to Nikon with a D7000 but I love to shoot with my MF lenses - so this little Sony is just the job !!
Seeing this sample, even it's 720p look good to me. About NEX 5R, I think it's a good choice, but the problem is there's not so much available on the market as NEX-5N. Here in Brazil people put it in the same price as Sony A5000 or NEX-6...unbelivable.
I bought a dirt-cheap 3 online this year to compare with my Canon EOS M10 and have used adapted Canon EF lenses because that’s what I already have. My issue with the Sony is that there aren’t cheap lenses around for it. Even the kit lens is not especially cheap online. I’m likely to sell it soon and stick with Canon, which has loads of affordable lenses out there.
I'm having trouble with wanting anything besides Micro 4/3 and Canon EF lens stuff either! The prices (on eBay especially) are just too good. These fun little Sony cameras look really fun to use with vintage lenses which is cool though!
@@RealBesty thats what I meant, but don't be to sad because at this time I could afford none of them! I was looking to buy a eos m10 btw that camera inpresses me

Paid about $150 for a Nex 3N in excellent conditions, included 16-50 lens, bag, filters, strap and 2 batteries. It was pretty good.
I have a Nex-3, and also a Nex-3N. For me, the Nex-3 handles far better than the 3N. The 3N is too small and fiddley, and the 'grip' is almost non-existent.
Super awesome camera. I got mine for $100 back in 2019 and now I'm using it as my workhorse for my channel. Super reliable, thing is a tank lol. Looking to upgrade to a A6000 soon as the prices on those are falling, then the NEX-3 will be a back up.
I got the Nex3 with the 16mm 2.8 and the 18-55mm, with a Sony camera bag, a UV filter, sd cards, cables, etc, for $145, the menus and the way to operate the camera are horrendous... But the images are better than i expected
Set up the right click button on the dial to change the ISO and shoot in manual to have control of the aperture and shutter speed with the bottom click button on the dial
@@alextatham4402 I did, it worked ok. But I sold all the Sony gear (I had an Nex5r and two other lenses). Now I'll stay with Canon. There are A LOT of very good cheap EF lenses. The cameras are cheap too.
I only need it for the photos as street photography camera to complete my Rx100VI and I got it with the 16-50 lens for under the 100 euros. Around 80 dollars
Thanks Steven!! I've been wanting to dip into the NEX line of cameras for awhile, based on the reviews from FoxTailWhipz, who is a NEX junkie! 😅 I'll probably take your advice and skip this one and start with the NEX-5N or the NEX-7. Much Appreciate you, man!
Still better then any canon m camera. That video looks pretty good on my 4k tv. Is 1080p really that much better? I would rather buy Nex C3 in some cool color and it is small and light.
I'm still using Nex 3N to my video an I'm enjoy of it. Sometimes I'm thinking about buying a new camera, but in fact - quality of my Nex 3N is really compariable to the newest model - even like Canon M 50 etc....
Most NEX cameras have not aged very gracefully. They don't offer the same great ergonomics, features or fast autofocus as more professional cameras with larger bodies (such as the Canon xxD series) but are far bigger than a smartphone. Had they offered as standard features a clean HDMI out, external audio recording, a proper hot shoe etc they would be much more desirable today.
I have had my Sony NEX 3 for like 7 years now but the software PMB that it came with won't work anymore and it's the only way I've been able to get a better look at my photos on my PC and able to upload them online. Do you know of any way I can get to work again or of something else I can use instead?
Comparing the discounting of this camera to the discounting of the 1d makes about zero sense. Plus, 100 almost becomes a stop barrier of any camera that is not broken. So while his points about not getting this are correct, as you can get better cameras for 20/40/60 more... Kinda no point bringing up the 1D, which i believe takes no video and isn't even full frame, etc. Even a dogshit point and shoot that cost 250 a while ago will still sell for close to 100 just on principle alone. Functioning electronics are valuable, and 100 bucks doesn't go as far as it used to :( 20s feel like 5s in this post-covid economy
I mentioned the 1D because I’m a camera collector. The 1D is a much more exciting purchase for someone like me because it’s a professional camera with a CCD sensor that used to cost $8,000 and now it only costs a little over $100. That’s a fun acquisition whereas a mediocre camera that’s cheap and plastic and has only come down a few hundred dollars in price isn’t particularly interesting from a collector’s perspective. I’m terms of comparing for photo and video performance, I compared it to the NEX 5R which is a close competitor and only costs $20 more.
Great video bro, lucky people follow your chanel, with reflex and cameras with a lot price... Badly for me that my country, because the economy situation are strong, i wanna join to the camera world but is to expensive the price for old camera, sorry for my bad english. If somewhere can help me will be great, thanks!
I shoot nature stills so its perfect for me, haha. Now, at some point I'm going to start making peaceful nature vids. I'll definitely need to get something better for that, but for now, I think it's the perfect little camera for my Redbubble prints xD
You've been ripped off, when you've bought a 2010 released plastic-body NEX-3 with 14 MP for 100 bucks! These are usually 40-50, at best. The NEX-5 is the same, but with much better build quality, and same Sensor. I have the latter one. Also the NEX-6, which is much better from DR, 16 MP, and EVF, which is way needed. Because into blazing sunlight, you can't make compositions with the LCD, like a smartphone shooter. And i dislike that way to shoot pictures. Your milage may vary. I use always the viewfinder, OVF preferred, but EVF is somewhat okay.
@@steve_heise Dude, i bought my NEX-5 when it was being released. I bought all my gear shortly after release. But since 2013, no more. Because i don't pay a) high prices and b) don't play betatester for the camera industry no more.
I bought a NEX-F3 for $190 with the 18-55 OSS and it has been one of the best purchases I've ever made!!

It’s great for photography and $50 is an excellent price. The 720p video is the only downside with this camera.
What about the sony a3000?
