    Anthocyanins or pitcher colour compared to green higher in canopy ie infrared spectrum or similar photosynthetic response or temp control using infrared ????

    Is emptying pitchers productive for research?

      Interesting question. It's certainly productive for figuring out things like the plant's ability to refill its pitchers and disentangling the degree of active control over its pitcher fluid properties. For instance, by emptying and refilling them with pure water, we can monitor changes in pH level and viscosity and determine whether they are able to constantly adjust the internal environment of the pitcher or whether fluid properties are set during development and inflexible after they've opened.
