I really enjoyed "Blackout" and "The Unknown Passenger", those ones were really fun to play!

me and my partner really enjoyed playing these together these about a year ago but the later boxes have really added more and more use of the online features which really takes you out of the mystery and makes it less cooperative and more individual because youre looking at your own phones instead. combined with the pricetag we decided not to renew our subscription because there are mystery games like these out there that we enjoy a lot more and feel more cooperative (and are cheaper!), such as the exit the.... series.
overall we did enjoy them, but I wish theyd kept to using less online play and puzzles.

Hi Jesse, I loved your play through of Stop that Toy. I have played other Christmas themed games and it was "Really Fun" to me! It was so fun for me to watch it, that I purchased one used and cannot wait to break it out next holiday season. I highly recommend it for families!

If you are looking for family friendly escape room games, we've recently played a couple from Escape the Crate and the Conundrum Box which are more family friendly and seem good.

@@COOPFORTWO I have played quite a few conundrum boxes, and was not nearly as impressed as I am with Deadbolt Mystery. Thanks for the tip on Escape the Crate.

I’m about to watch the video but before I do, I would like to tell you which one of the five you have there is my favorite and it’s actually two of them. I loved Museum Nocturnus and The Comic Book Killer. Now to see what you would recommend! As a sidenote, I see you’re gonna be doing Body of Evidence live. I’m gonna try and see if I can do this with you because I have yet to play the game; however, I’m already looking forward to Body of Evidence 2 and 3, which should be coming soon on Kickstarter from what I understand.
Edited to add that I own every box, and have played all you have in this video. I am a subscriber of DMS.

Awesome to meet another Deadbolt fan. I think we have play 20 of them so far.. I have my favorites but I look forward to more. See you during Body of Evidence! One of the main reasons I want to play it is to see if the planned follow games are worth getting -- though I hear from someone that they may bypass kickstarter and just tell them normally. we'll see. -jesse

Of these, only played Blackout and Unknown Passenger. Echo your verdict: Blackout was one of our favorites (even if we immediately guessed the killer), and Unknown Passenger had a lot of promise but took some wonky turns. I will add that so far we have HATED every time they've tried to have expanded internet features, most noticeably in Unknown Passenger and The Missing Piece. I really hope they don't go the Hunt a Killer route with those.
I'd love to sit in a playthrough of one of the out of print boxes that are hard to get a hold of.
One final note I have to vent on: last "Box of the Year" winner went to The Gameshow Murders? That was our LEAST favorite of any of the boxes EVER. All clever "ah ha!" puzzles pushed out in favor of the "Sudoku style" of puzzles, the ones where there's nothing clever to figure out, just a matter of brute forcing pieces until they fit. We always find those tedious.

I feel like we need an overall ranking of these boxes... from the best of all that you have played not just these.

Would love to know your opinion on Never House from the company that made the Witchery Spell as its supposed to be more horror themed . I bought the witchery spell based on your review and thoroughly enjoyed it 😊

I have not played Never House yet, but I have it. And all the people who recommended Witchery Spell also recommended Never House, so I have every confidence it will be similarly good. It's their third game (conspiracy 19) that people say is less good.
