i stopped by your shop yesterday and bought this template. i met doc and tyler, both great guys. very helpful. i did not realize that was table you built your projects on. i was like a kid in a candy store. lol. cant wait to try this build. it will be my casino wallet.
I love my Cobra skiver. Yes might cost you a child. I am so proud of that boy for taking one for team, the machine is awesome. Oh yeah I do miss him but I don't miss all the skiving I was doing.
@@makersleathersupply1220 Thank you and I will be placing another order Friday need another side and I have to get another awesome trim knife. The one I have decided to knock itself off the table onto the concert.
I’ve made a jig for this using a piece of 10 ounce veg tan. I cut a hole in the veg the same size as the magnet so the sandwiched magnet sets down into it. This gives you better control when you punch your holes.
Aaron, I received the magnetic money clip template and I’m putting this together and was wondering if you can sew this by machine or should I hand stitch, I only have 2mm and 3mm chisels and the thread I bought from you is 8mm. I know there’s not a lot of room around the magnet so are you sewing with 1/8” seam allowance or less? Also, did you edge bevel the money clip piece then burnish the edges before installing to the other magnet? Sorry for all the questions, I think after I get one made the next one will be easier. Thanks again
Hi Aaron, thanks for another great video. Can I please ask if your using wax thread for stitching or what type and size your using? Also, I would like to purchase the size creaser your using in the video, do you have those available on your website? Thanks so much for your help, so far I finished my grandson Pad Folio and Front Pocket Money Clip wallet and he loved it and was so happy, can’t wait to make more of your projects. Thanks again Aaron for everything
I'm using our MLS Superior hand sewing thread in .8mm. It is waxed and braided. I used a 2mm creaser on this project. We carry them but I think we are waiting on a shipment of them at this time.
@@makersleathersupply1220, thank you so much can’t wait till you get some in. Can I ask what you would charge for making something like this and for the front pocket money clip wallet? Do you have any videos on how you figure the pricing on your products you make just curious. Thanks again for your help.
That black and purple gator wallet is beautiful. How much would you charge for a piece like that? I only ask because a few months ago I took leather crafting up as a hobby and I’m truly enjoying it. I am trying to start a little side business out of my home and I would like to try to make something a little more on the exotic side. I subscribed to your channel about a month ago and I have watched probably 3 to 4 videos a day just trying to soak in information. Keep up the great work! ✌️
Hi Anthony, It's tricky when you get into exotics. You can make dang good money with them as long as your construction, stitching, and edge work is up to par. If I were to make that wallet for someone, I'd charge $200-$250. That easily pays for most of a gator skin and then you still have lots of him leftover for other projects.
So why does the money clip end up so close to the edge? Couldn’t it be centered? I’m asking because the last one I made I flipped the money clip 180 and it was so much easier to stitch the front on. Did I make a big mistake here that I’m not seeing?
Aaron I attempted to purchase the magnets for this wallet from your site. The cost of the magnets is $6.95 ( very pricey ) the shipping to Pennsylvania was $10.19!!!! That's ridiculous!!! Deal breaker...
@@makersleathersupply1220 Aaron, perhaps my tone of "delivery" and your misunderstanding it has lead to another misunderstanding...I recently shipped a bag to Alabama...Post Office cost =$29.32... Great! I picked up the template this week and now I’m heading out to the shop to make one. Thanks.

I love that camera! Great job, love the project!
Love it. Now we have an excuse to come on down to see you all. Think Doc might be missing me by now. Aldo

If you wanted it a different color would you dye it or use different leather
Either one. Generally for untooled items I'd try to use a leather that is already colored and finished like bridle or harness.
What size is that creaser I couldn't tell ? Thanks for sharing your talents with us .
2.0mm for this one

What size is the magnet used? You are out on your website.
@@rachaeldennis1106 ours are 1" X 2". We ordered them months ago and sure hope they come in someday.
How can i make the card holder part of it go up instead of side ways?
@connieanderson4734 just make the card pockets the same height as the base pieces and however long you want them for card depth.
Also, instead of the center pocket how it is, leave it open on the end like the card pockets are
can we have a pattern for the cute little seal in the bottom left? haha
Do you make any individual leather pieces?
No, just the stuff I make doing these videos and giving classes.
I forgot I bought this mystery box until I found it in a drawer. Any problem using double sided tape for the bottom on the pockets instead of glue?
Might make a nice burnished edge a little harder but otherwise, no.
What is the size of the magnets??

Is it a neodymium magnet that you use? My bad you answered
Yep
I have a question, what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Well that depends... are we talking about a European Swallow?
Weres the digital pattern?
Im working on making all of our patterns into digital downloads. Ill get to this one soon.
how do magnets work?
One is a boy and the other is a girl... and they're attracted to each other.
Word to the wise, don’t try to press your stamp on the clip with the magnet inside. I just snapped my magnet in half! 😫
