So I removed the ring from the helix a different way and when it came out I doubted that it was the right way so I came to check it out here. This solution that I found was all about the phisics of pushing the rotating parts against the ring causing more lbs of force then you could do with your fingers. I considered the outside of the holes to be a "hole" as well and from one of the outer holes I placed the outside end of the ring on the bottom frame (i hope this all makes sense) then I simply used the top frame and pushed it on the end of the ring thats on the frame until both frames were completely aligned. It required very little force (very very little) and the you slide the ring right out. I don't know if it's considered wrong but I saw it as "thinking outside the box" and it worked out quite well.
The Helix puzzle is far more challenging than the newer Nutcase and padlock puzzles, IMHO. From in the box, I had nutcase solved in less than 25 minutes, and Padlock was about 3 hours, but this helix took me at least 5 hours, finally had to watch this video. But now, on to trinity and vortex.. heh.
Once again I agree with your assessment. The puzzle is a good one but not “a KILLER” PUZZLE.. I so enjoy your channel you and I think in a similar fashion. Thanks again, Jerry
a work colleague brought one of these in, i've spent the last two days fiddling with it. finally gave up because it was distracting me from what I was supposed to be doing.
and now having watched the disassembly i'm kicking myself because I was so close lol. I'd found the 'worn' sections, just didn't figure out how I needed to line them up.
Mine was labeled level 5. I dunno if i actually did it. Not trying to ruin it for myself. I just slipped one end of the ring through a low point of the star edges. Kinda took a slight amount of force, and i was able to reverse it.
Yes....... that's the way I first solved it. I assumed that was the proper way until I watched this video. The tolerances are a little too large and allow this alternate method.
If this were a six sided star shape with the ring beginning opposite to the solution holes AND it could only be removed if you shift it in one of the two possible directions, clockwise or counterclockwise, then you might have a 6 out of 6 puzzle. Interesting none the less.
It loks like the "borders" on the surface of those holes is second layer of puzzle, one of them does not have the breach but have second "pool" area. But it got skipped by just squeezing the ring off cos it is too loose. Or maybe not, i am not good at puzzles.
The Last Phoenix you're correct, the ridge surrounding the hole is the key to solving, no need to strain your eyes looking for the small extra grind mark on the inside of the puzzle sides.
I’ve been trying to solve it for 3 hours now and this did not help one bit, I tried to copy your example but I could not see properly and I could not find any different holes
3 weeks. I've watched this video at least 20 times while trying on the puzzle and still nothing. I simply do not see this discrepancy in the holes which you mention. This is really pissing me off.
It took me almost 2 hours to solve it after watching 3 videos about it. It takes quite a bit of force after you get the ring into horizontal orientation from the vertical orientation to actually remove it. My star-shaped pieces actually broke a little on the surface.
I enjoy the videos , it opens different pathways of logic , it is educative and interesting in a special way , I think children should solve different kinds of simpler puzzles as a subject in a school in stead of some stupid subjects ! Or being part of an art subject or something .
There's a glitch on this puzzle which makes it solvable in multiple positions. You can spring one end of the helix over the edge with minimal pressure.
I disagree - the alternate "glitch" method makes it a bit of a failure as a puzzle. If you want a real stinker of a puzzle, try the Radix. I have trouble with that one, even following Mr Puzzle's solution.
Solved a lot of 6/6 puzzles, this one is a really disappointing one, the solution uses a bit of force and it's not elegant, the issue is that there are a lot of other forced solutions in this puzzle, I'll rate it 2/5 design wise. Not recommended
1:30 - We;re looking for a hole that's different from all other holes.
Don't we all.
I got this puzzle 8 years ago. Today I gave up and watched this video. I can finally taste freedom.

im watching because one day, i might have to solve a puzzle to save my life so I must watch all videos!! (love ur vids)
"we are looking for one hole that is different than all the other holes" that's a life time quest right there my brother.
Thanks for showing me the correct way to solve this because I solved it a different way.
Same
I collected puzzles when I was a kid.
Now I enjoy watching your videos...
Thanks John!
You kind of figured it out the hard way by looking closely at the holes, when those sausage shaped openings give the solution away more obviously
the raised edges that are golden where you in the end pull the ring out THEY ARE THE CLUE . no need to look at the holes at all
exactly

Awesome videos, really gets me wanting to get into puzzles!
Well, just try it!
If you like the videos you will love to do it yourself!
+Mr.Puzzle Where do you buy your puzzles? I'd like to start a collection.
yeah..where do u buy those puzzles?
TEGSAAN and

Been subscribed for a week, and I am glad I subscribed! Lots of good puzzle videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
your channel is so relaxing, im so glad i stumbled across it, keep up the good work man
Thanks!
Good one
I like your videos
thank you Mr. puzzle
2:18 you mean there is a notch in the top one?
For another solution that uses a little different view, go find the Puzzle Guy. But you have to follow his steps exactly.
this is like the multilayer maze but its much more complex

I actually found an alternate solution to the puzzle, but this one is more elegant.
you make good videos.
Thanks, glad you like them! :)
Played with this for an hour, found that place by chance and memorized its position using engraved "helix".
Awesome brass Puzzle. But i'm going to have to watch this video more than once. I can't put the silver loop back on the Star.
Mine was labeled level 5. I dunno if i actually did it. Not trying to ruin it for myself. I just slipped one end of the ring through a low point of the star edges. Kinda took a slight amount of force, and i was able to reverse it.

I think I could get this, but I would struggle with it.
Beautiful and good for anti stress like a spinner fidget.
Very nice puzzle. Very.
story of my life 1:39
Next time can you keep the things inside the camera please when you move them around? It's frustrating not seeing what you talk about while you speak.
very interesting one!

Awesome video, do you own any of Stumps lumberjack puzzles?
No, just had a look. I will try to get one.
i like to buy the puzzle.. but i am from malaysia..
how could i buy it?

Sorry, I don't get it. :D
Ah, nevermind. I just thought that the holes are surrounded by the ridges and they are different for each hole.
The Last Phoenix you're correct, the ridge surrounding the hole is the key to solving, no need to strain your eyes looking for the small extra grind mark on the inside of the puzzle sides.
Thank you. Now I know, that I have found a wrong solution... There was little bit of force necessary - but not too much.
I’ve been trying to solve it for 3 hours now and this did not help one bit, I tried to copy your example but I could not see properly and I could not find any different holes
Subbed
Thanks and welcome to my channel!

Yes I did something just more force lol
well try
Dude your hog wash you got mine in a twisted jam
yes its so easy when you have done 345 puzzles in 10 years , but when you do this as a first ?????? In your life=?
Will be a nightmare. 😈
I enjoy the videos , it opens different pathways of logic , it is educative and interesting in a special way , I think children should solve different kinds of simpler puzzles as a subject in a school in stead of some stupid subjects ! Or being part of an art subject or something .
5:57 you "sink" i don't think soo
I found a cheat way to do this puzzle.
Dude this puzzle almost made me lose my shit 🙈 i finished it then threw it out.. thanks lol
that would be a sick fidget spinner xD
U can get hanayama puzzels at walmart Thats where i got my nut case
He is very difficult
Please help me

Not a proper solution, doesn't feel as an accomplishment
@@unrealman657 I fully agree !
this is probably one of the hardest

+Mr.Puzzle its Dificulty for 2y old kids. All this HANAYAMA is a scam. Its toys for kids. Not puzzles for adults
hi
Bye
are you german? i mean you have apretty heavy accent
yes

4 out of 6 my ass. it´s a 3 out of 6 at best
BS. My seven year old grand daughter got the ring off and she did it by slipping it off the edge.
Did you know you can also solve this just forcing it? 😂😂😂
pop filter
Just ordered a new mic yesterday.
So far I just used the internal mic of my camera.
Why does it always seem like the authors with cottonmouth are the ones who insist on having the the mic right next to their mouth.
how can you tell he has cotten mouth, assuming you mean his mouth is dry AF.
I know what you mean i cant stand that shit
It's all the sort of slight smacking noises his mouth makes. And I totally agree, have the mike further away and keep hydrated.
yeah, what the fuck those lip sucking? soooo annoying! spoils the presentation
all i could hear was swallowing like ok man
What a terrible key ring.
First
Stop chewing while you talking
MrJuni1 he's talking perfectly normal, calm down
