I love the look of ESPs. I'd love to one day get one if their les Pauls with all the abalone and stuff and put some dimarzio PAFs in it. I've tried a few LTD guitars though and they've all been very difficult to play for some reason. Maybe it's just the shops I played them in don't take proper care of them or something. So I hope ESP aren't the same. I've actually got an ESP guitar already, sort of, they have another budget range along with LTD called AXL, and I have a tele from that range which I got for £80 years ago, and I love it, it plays remarkably well considering. It's got these weird EMG passive single coil pickups in it that sound like normal tele pickups, planning to get seymour duncan antiquities or something to replace them and repaint it. I got a bridge to replace the one on it and I'm holding off on doing that cos the bridge grounds the bridge pickup and so I'm scared of doing it wrong and electrocuting myself

I also bought their bass in the same colors, the bass needed a new output jack which I installed. I bought one of these on ebay without the Glarry branding. This had it's advantages and disadvantages. If you are afraid to learn how to work on a guitar yourself, go with Glarry. If you get a bad one they will replace it for you. Though learning to adjust the bridge and the truss rod may be necessary either way. The ebay advantage was I got it (without the dinky little amp) for $54.00 shipped from a US seller and it arrived in only 5 days. The finish and electronics were all fine but the neck was cocked forward and it needed the nut filed and shaved and some fretwork needed to be addressed. The ultimate gamechanger for these cheap guitars is new strings. I was blown away with the huge difference a new set of 10's made over the supplied chinese strings. It sounds better, feels better to play and holds tune much better. I would also recommend locking down the trem on these unless you replace it.

I purchased this burning fire guitar left handed model and it’s a lot smaller then my sons strat. I’m a beginner but it sounds pretty good. The 20 watt amp they offer doesn’t sound great but it’s usable for learning. Im going to take it to a tech to get it properly set up soon and replace the strings. A lot of fun for $70.
It's utterly amazing you can buy a playable guitar and a working amp for 100 bucks. I'm remembering the 400.oo I spent on a rack mount distortion unit in the early '90's. lol
Pretty insane price for the kit! As for the fretboard, my 2019 Gibson Firebird, which was never on display had a filthy, dry rosewood fretboard when I got it. It was a little disappointing, but some Dunlop 65 took right care of that. The guitar is built almost flawlessly and sounds soooo good that I forgave Gibson for the oversight.
When you did the first Glarry episode with the strat?... Within an hour I had going online and ordered one. When it got to my house, I tore out the pickups and put in Texas specials. I put in a very early 90s American made Stratocaster neck on it too. Now it's one of my favorite guitars in my collection (I have about 25)
Yup... Just a pity about the name itself... They would benefit from the logo just being HB but nope! I still haven't bought one because of that... Not that Glarry has a nice ring to it 😂 but at least the Chinese don't seem to understand when something sounds lame in English... Thomann is a German company and they must've been drunk when they came up with Harley Benton... But just like my drunk uncle says stupid things at every birthday party Thomann also can't admit they were wrong after the fact Good guitars though 👌 but nah... I just REALLY hate the logo
@@shaunw9270 I have never tried those, I have a tele clone and aside from crowning its pretty damn nice haha, better luck to you in the future I suppose
Thanks for a comprehensive review of a guitar that is likely in very high demand but is also one that many "insecure" guitarists might not like to be associated with. You played this out of the box. Apparently NO preliminary adjustments to action, NO threat from vicious fret ends. Very playable. That right there is unusual for cheap guitars. I can't help but think that this guitar is dollar for dollar the best guitar deal of the century! Nice finish, darn fine neck , it seems to play as sweetly as low end models of the big brand manufacturers. For less than $100.00?? I'm in!! I ordered one. Not because I need it. Because this is just too good to pass up. I'll shim, file, use the supplied "allan's" and have an easy player, and a conversation piece to boot. Thanks for showing me this Trogly.
I meant I agree with you about buying just the guitar. Nice picking hand. That was a heavy riff. Hope you do a cheap upgrade. Like GFS or Dragonfire pickups.
Thanks for the this review I love the look of the guitar I saw it yesterday on the website. I don’t care for the sound but I can definitely use it for re-purposing project. Have a great day.
No. Knock off is correct. I was excited at first to see it as I love the F-type... But there are many subtle differences in construction that render this far inferior to the LTD guitars that are really cheap anyway...!
@@blacktoothfox677 You show me a pic of the guitar this is supposed to be knockoff of, because it's not trying to pass itself off as such, that's why I say "inspired by"
I bought a acoustic Glarry for like$47 free shipping just out of curiosity. Came in a cardboard box that's it no packing. I was surprised at what I got for the price. Playing it was like driving a car with no power steering. Still wasn't bad for the money.
Switch tip - super glue, middle pickup, useless - screw it down out of the way and forget it's there and the output jack can be pulled out, tightened and reattached and it SHOULD work fine unless it has a wiring issue. (Mine just needed to be tightened)
My mom got me this guitar and it was good, had it for a year and it's pretty good, just gotta swop those strings after a while and keep it on a stand. The paint on it comes off fairly easy but it's all in all good, getting a new guitar on christmas and a katana mk2 amp soon! Most likely an Ibanez GRG131DX or a Jackson King V!
@@lyssnicole I've modded and refinished several of these guitars and they are well worth it! Not very good out the box though. Frets need leveled, new strings, and new pots and pickups at least! Tuners are hit or miss apparently because all mine stay in tune just fine. Action needs set too because it's always extremely high for some reason. But for under 200 you can have a great sounding, great playing, and great looking guitar if you put in the work that they didn't.
@@doknox I've been obsessed with ESP guitars for many years and I recently saw the knockoffs on wish and I hope it's a glarry. I was thinking the same thing just a little bit of work and you have a really awesome guitar
I bought a factory second BC RICH WARLOCK for $125 from a guy in Pasadena who had his apartment full of factory seconds from BC RICH. He also included a custom humbucker with beefy round head, black machine type Allen screws for the pole screws. Very metalicious! lol Sounded and played great through my 64' Gibson GA5T Skylark tube amp! Very surprised! Of course my main amp is a 73' SOUND CITY 120R.😊

Incredible. When I was a starting player there was nothing like this for me. I had to spend 300$ on a cheap St copy from Fingerhut because you could make payments.
I’ve yet to come across a review of someone with this guitar playing soul, blues r&b vibes... is it a good guitar for that? I love the metal look, I just want to be able to play blues and r&b with it
@@morgantalewr6424 if this helps, when I bought it months ago, I asked someone who bought this same one on Instagram… it’s capable of everything that you want it to do as far as jazz and blues they told me ! Good luck 🙌🏾
I've been playing bass for 3 years but I wanna be able to play guitar too. Im not expecting much obviously but is this good for just learning? Or should I save more money
I bought this guitar and red without the amp. Put some pretty expensive humbuckers and a coil in it. Put some top-of-the-line keys on it. Took it to a buddy of mine that had a wood lathe and trim the neck down on the back to make it thinner, put it back together and after all together about a hundred and fifty bucks at made an awesome present for my nephew learning to play guitar. And I gave him a little 12in old crate amp that I had and in 7 months he had pretty much had the five finger death Punch remake of bad company down pretty good. It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of money in changing the case of the humbuckers. Oh and I put a nut and bridge on them that was made out of the femur of a deer leg bone. People let me tell you if you want your guitar to sound way better and the toneto ring out much longer especially on an acoustic guitar put a bone nut and bridge on them. It's unbelievable what it does for the sound. I have an FG 180 Yamaha acoustic that has whale bone nut and bridge and it took the six-string e from ringing seven seconds up to about 16 to 17 seconds before you could not hear it anymore. But unfortunately you can't get well bones nut and bridge anymore
I just got one of these in black out of the box It was playable I had to fix the crooked volume knob and the input jack is tight hard to pull the guitar cable out of it. I love the comfortable neck on it easier for me to play as a beginner at 57 Its a fun guitar to play.I love this guitar.
I really like it gonna try to order one today in white or black which ever they have but really hoping for the white. I already have a good set of HBs and a Hot Rail for the middle also have a used set of Grover 3+3s if they shield it and buy new pots and change ALL the cheap cheese wireing and also Deck the Tremolo I think you could have a Really Decent Guitar for not a lot of money!!🤘🎸🎶Rock on!!!!.......!
So I actually did buy this, but the amp sounds way better in your video than it does for me IRL. What's the secret? I should note that I definitely have some sort of hardware revision, the "grind" is called "drive" for instance.
Just by appearance I love the way it looks now I know there is a 2nd version of this thats outs now but doesn't look as good to me IMO but its supposed to be an overall improvement than the 1st... thoughts on the 2?
I've been playing for more than 30 days and this was my first "new" guitar off Walmart, I really liked it for the price, but the bridge humbucker sticks out higher than the middle and neck, and when I tried to lower the strings, the strings just sit and pull on top of the bridge humbucker making an "echo sound". IDK, I am very inexperience since I am new, but i don't think that bridge should stick out so high. I think I am going to return it and find a used guitar
Hey man, first time viewer here. I just paid for this off eBay. I haven't played in a long time. I bored myself to death. I was really tired of playing the hundred dollar copy guitars. But, my brother is staying with us for awhile. He has his drum kit stored in the basement here. He got a nice double floor kick pedal, and a snare drum, along with some other accessories sent to him from Roger Earl (original drummer of Foghat). I noticed the intro to slow ride. He goes back 40 plus year's with the band, as a drum tech, LD, etc. I wanted to know what to expect when this arrives in a week or so. Good review man. I guess it's better than nothing. At least I'll have something to kidk around a little bit on. I'm curious, did it feel like the strings were at the basic height from neck ? Do the frets need to be sanded ? I just want a simple ready to go guitar outta the box. It sounds like this will fit my needs. I'm just a hack, play by ear. I learned a few things from other's. This looks like it will do the job. I just wanted something halfway decent to kick it around a little bit. The amp will be good enough for now. Fron what I've seen here, this should be fine. I liked and subscribed to your channel. I think you could help me learn some basics about the guitar, and it's components, and other thing's down the road. Hopefully you won't mind if I pop in for a question or 2, from time to time. Thanks again man for a good review. Talk wittchew soon . Have as good of Memorial day weekend as you can have right ? All of us being under house arrest and all. Our Michigan Governor, is a power tripping hag. This will be the most somber holiday we've ever had. Cheers man ..
The white powder in the pickup cavity is buffing compound. They didn't bother to clean it up before assembly. I've seen this also on Squire and Dean Vendetta guitars as well.
I've noticed on mine Neck and Middle, Middle and Bridge are much lower in volume than Neck, Middle , and Bridge by themselves. Have any suggestion on rewiring ?
Have you ever reviewed a Mitchell ? I see a few nice LOOKING ones under $200 on ebay, was thinking about a LP knock-off, or the 3/4 mini LP style in matte gray. Hmmmmmm. $89 roll of the dice.
I actually bought one. With shipping, it was fifty bucks. I didn't get the amp though. I pimped it to hell and it's a fun beater guitar. I threw new pots, pickups, tuners, nut and bridge. I had all of the parts laying around. Mine is unbranded though. I hope it's not one of those counterfeit Glarry Guitars that are so prevalent in the market.
This is the exact body I got from a Kit. I don't know about Glarry, I want to know who first manufactured this body style. There are quite a few companies not making this body style. I want to know who did it first!
Can you help answer a question? Mine was a disaster and Glary guitar won’t help. 1. Which nut should I get to replace the nut it came with? I can do it myself if I have a nut that is the correct size. Thank you.
If you purchased directly from Glarry, they have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you bought on eBay or from a different vendor, you'll probably be out of luck on that. 9:52 shows the nut width of this particular one 1.65"
The Trogly's Guitar Show thanks for the reply. I got it a Walmart and Glarry won’t honor it. I gave up. Thanks for the advice. Can you recommend a nut?

take a look at harley bentons, great budget guitars
But just like my drunk uncle says stupid things at every birthday party Thomann also can't admit they were wrong after the fact
Good guitars though 👌 but nah... I just REALLY hate the logo
I have a Harley Benton steel body ,single cone resonator . Looks cool , awful playability.
@@shaunw9270 I have never tried those, I have a tele clone and aside from crowning its pretty damn nice haha, better luck to you in the future I suppose
UkeliDokeli what's wrong with the name? It's not exactly cool but then neither is "paul reed smith" or "Gibson"
I always say harley benton instead of harley davidson people always wonder "wtf is wrong with him"
Thanks for a comprehensive review of a guitar that is likely in very high demand but is also one that many "insecure" guitarists might not like to be associated with. Thanks for showing me this
Trogly.
I meant I agree with you about buying just the guitar. Nice picking hand. That was a heavy riff. Hope you do a cheap upgrade. Like GFS or Dragonfire pickups.
I put ymc amazon pick ups on it. And its sick for metal tones. I uograded to 500k pots to
sounds good for $69US. far cry from the starter guitars of the late 70's
That's nice for a beginner. Kind of hard to beat the price!👍😎🎸🎶
Thank you for playing enter sand and cow boys from hell man I love that songs!!!!!
Watching those clouds fade away....
Surprisingly good sounding.
it was great hearing the cfh riff its def a go to wen demoing a new rig!
rip dimebag Darrel , Vinny Paul...the rifs live on!
Thanks for the this review I love the look of the guitar I saw it yesterday on the website. I don’t care for the sound but I can definitely use it for re-purposing project. Have a great day.
ESP Ltd f series knock off
Not so much a knockoff, it's just inspired by those models
No. Knock off is correct. I was excited at first to see it as I love the F-type... But there are many subtle differences in construction that render this far inferior to the LTD guitars that are really cheap anyway...!
@@blacktoothfox677 You show me a pic of the guitar this is supposed to be knockoff of, because it's not trying to pass itself off as such, that's why I say "inspired by"
@@bloodguts6786 easy. Go to my channel. Look for any performance of 'manifold brood'. That's me. And the guitar this is knocked off from 🐒
@@bloodguts6786 there are some differences for sure but it's basically a knockoff of the ta-204 only it's not a bass
I have that guitar and I love it. I use it for the nirvana tone. 😅
Bro this is the best channel on RUclips how do you not have more subs?
I have one of these and I actually love it,thick neck for bassist, and it's super light, and with nice pickups sounds great
Fair and honest review. You da man Trogs
Those pickups sound surprisingly nice! The starter amp is okay...
I do say, the stratty positions sounded best IMO.
I woulda loved having this when I was starting out. The guitar I had cost 2-3X as much and was 1/2 as good.
Thank you for the detailed demo. Those pickups sounds god enough ...?
I just bought one of these for $17 on Ebay. My goal is to see if I can make it a decent playable guitar. We will see. :D
How’d it go?
@@lyssnicole I've modded and refinished several of these guitars and they are well worth it! Not very good out the box though. Frets need leveled, new strings, and new pots and pickups at least! Tuners are hit or miss apparently because all mine stay in tune just fine. Action needs set too because it's always extremely high for some reason. But for under 200 you can have a great sounding, great playing, and great looking guitar if you put in the work that they didn't.
@@doknox Ah interesting, thanks for replying!
@@lyssnicole 👍😁👍
I got one coming today, I paid $57 for. I plan to upgrade everything on it though, really wanted it for the unique body.
Woopity woos
Everyone should own at least one Woopity Woo !
I own the Left Handed Glarry GP Bass.. 😀👍 It's cool! For practicing and I think you could even gig with it! Tune it up the way that you like. Standard or down tuning.. 👍 A review of the Glarry Jazz Bass would be good.. ☺️ I always watch the guitar reviews even though I'm a bass player.. Fun and very honest reviews 👍☺️ Take care and rOcK on everyone!
Thought it was about to be a trade Tuesday. Was so confused
Incredible. When I was a starting player there was nothing like this for me. I had to spend 300$ on a cheap St copy from Fingerhut because you could make payments.
I’ve yet to come across a review of someone with this guitar playing soul, blues r&b vibes... is it a good guitar for that? I love the metal look, I just want to be able to play blues and r&b with it
That's exactly the same thing I want to do, I bought one last night but I'm a huge blues fan aswell so Id also like to see this guitar playing that
@@morgantalewr6424 if this helps, when I bought it months ago, I asked someone who bought this same one on Instagram… it’s capable of everything that you want it to do as far as jazz and blues they told me ! Good luck 🙌🏾
The white powder that you commonly find inside a guitars cavities is buffing compound
I got a spare tuner set, a JB pickup laying around, and a friend who’s a tech. Think it’d actually sound good with spare pickups?
I've been playing bass for 3 years but I wanna be able to play guitar too. Im not expecting much obviously but is this good for just learning? Or should I save more money
This is perfect. I have a Marshall DSL40C and I want to see how this performs 😎
But unfortunately you can't get well bones nut and bridge anymore
just bought one saw good reviews especially since I dont have any experience just trying to learn, this helps
Could You Tune It For Death Metal
Probably A Stupid Question, Don't Know A Lot About Guitars. Looking For A Cheap Starter Guitar To Practice With.
It looks Cool ~ and it's GREAT to pick up near the end of your show n' Smash To Smithereens !!
saw this video randomly in my feed, was curious as all hell (that guitar is fugly in a good way!) and after seeing this, I subbed.
Welcome! I do daily uploads of guitar related content
The white powder in the pickup cavity is buffing compound. They didn't bother to clean it up before assembly. I've seen this also on Squire and Dean Vendetta guitars as well.
Are the frets are mid-jumbo or just regular like LP ? Thanks
Trade series part 2???
Could you make a video about a LP-style guitar from Harley Benton and how it compares to an Epiphone and Gibson one?
GuitarMaxx reviewed this a while back, seems to be a great bargain!
Thanks for the info. What size hardshell case would you need for this guitar?
The clean sound is amazing
Really liked the neck pickup sound on clean 👌
I actually bought one. With shipping, it was fifty bucks. I didn't get the amp though. I pimped it to hell and it's a fun beater guitar. I threw new pots, pickups, tuners, nut and bridge. I had all of the parts laying around. Mine is unbranded though. I hope it's not one of those counterfeit Glarry Guitars that are so prevalent in the market.
Would lizard spit polish work good on this..i just ordered this kit..i used that back in the day..im getting into jamming again finally
This is the exact body I got from a Kit. I don't know about Glarry, I want to know who first manufactured this body style. There are quite a few companies not making this body style. I want to know who did it first!
Sick start for a project guitar
I like that tobacco burst . I would buy one of those with the lone purpose of modding the hell out of it .
The Mesa boogie mark, reminds me of nirvana which sounds badass. 13:39
I ordered mine today I can’t wait until I gets it
was it good?
I'll admit it, when i was first starting electric guitar a and almost bought it
I bought one of these for 52 bucks new and put 30 into upgrades. Now its my favorite guitar. Neck is small and thin on mine tho
Can you recommend a nut?
i have this gtr and must say i love it..looks and feels great...sounds great and i can play fast but i dont have the keys to the lambourgini...does go a tad out of tune when whammy abuse occurs..no big deal..get 80 dollar lock tuners and your set
I own 2 of them nice out of the box I customize one of them with new pickups and pots and super good for the price
I would love to see a review of one of the epiphone 310, those things definitely look neat.
What are the names of the licks you use to demo the guitar sound? Point to the tabs for those?
Great, comprehensive review. Ignore the idiots.
Well those amps do suck but for $20, it's alright. I'm curious which is better; this burning fire, or the 170 RG copy?
