6:27 People can NEVER blame the person who risks going in there. Oh no, it is ALWAYS the mine's fault. No body can ever put blame where blame is due.

Something really needs to be done about the grand canyon. That is one big hole. Too dangerous. Better cement it

6:55-7:00. Point worth noting! The kid didn't know about the mine, and supposedly just fell into it and died. People should know about open mines, they should be sealed, or signed and mapped perhaps. But don't stop legitimate, experienced explorers who have the training and equipment to do so. Those people who are aware of all the potential dangers, and have the equipment to deal with those dangers, and still choose to explore. Please don't hinder us.

Wow this is so funny! I went from investigating an EPA river spill to a video about toxic outflow from a mine to your videos, Exploring Abandon Mines and Unusual Places. Watching hours of your videos got me wondering about their dangers, and exploring them myself which led me to this video and here you were - leaving a comment 6 years ago haha! Amazing.

@6:53 Her son fell down a mineshaft. That was his fault, not the mine. What was he doing in a mine in the first place if (as she said) he knew nothing about mines? Parents will blame anything that happens to their kids on anything other than the stupidity of their own kids or the fact that they don't know what their kids are doing. The lack of proper parenting and guidance plays a big factor in why her son is dead although it is not the sole reason. He chose to temp the hand of fate.

Right! We shouldn't blame peoples' bad decisions on inanimate objects......Well, unless the inanimate object just happens to be a gun. Then, by all means, blame the inanimate object EVERY time!!! People, knives, diseases, old age and mines don't kill people, guns do! Now that I think about it, we need a vastly larger, socialist government to protect us from ANY old thing that may kill or mildly inconvenience us! Isn't it time for a totalitarian socialist government? Many college and mainstream media 'intellectuals' will say that, YES we do....... LMAO

Reclamation means they destroy the mines so nobody can explore them or make RUclips of them. :(

True. Modern practice destroys future history & makes for bleak landscapes. Imagine if the pyramids were reclaimed for suburban housing. Btw, please don't hate me 'cause I'm a man. That would be sorta uncool. I just want to get along & not hate🎈

My condolences...... You can be comfortable in the fact that the country will not be further corrupted and sold out to our enemies by the Clintons. I can understand that you would relish the idea of a female president. As a man, I would like to see it too. But that doesn't mean we should blindly vote for any woman who runs, merely because she is a woman. We should want COMPETENT, hopefully incorruptible candidates.

most accidents happen due to falling down shafts or drowning, when do you ever hear of someone getting crushed due to collapsed roof, never. there alot safer then what people make them out to be,

The last person to die in a Nevada abandoned mine was over a year and half ago. In the time frame since then 2 people have been killed at active Nevada mining operations.

if they find a mine in the middle of nowhere and tell everyone its there, and to stay away, all its going to do is broadcast to everyone that wants to explore mines that its there. its causing more people to be around the mines than otherwise.

In the US? WRONG. The vast majority of those listed my MSHA as "abandoned" are gravel/open pit quarry accidents. Many are drownings. There are very few hard rock abandoned mine deaths in the US.

People go hiking and dirtbiking and all that out in Nevada (where I live) and fall into holes/mines/shafts. It's not even about "one's freedom to climb into a mine if they want to"... it is ALSO about the dangers of unsuspecting citizens simply NOT KNOWING when a hole could eat their dog, swallow up their motorcycle, or just allow them to fall into it.

You can really feel that woman's pain in losing her son.
    Lord have mercy.
My kids used to play on the edge of buildings, and they came so close to killing themselves, and all for what?
Danger draws them in, and that could be the last thing they ever do.
The warnings and dangers are real.

Reclamation means to tear down and demolish our history then make a video pretending to care about the historic valve. There is full intent of blocking the public from its rights of exploration. Scare tactics are actually used to hold the general public from its rights. Our tax dollars are used to harm us. The Government is not your mommy and daddy nor are they your lord and master but at every turn, they treat us as modern day slaves.

Very simple all...when mines are not in used or shutdown, destroy it, block it, filled back with anything to make a complete closed to avoid accidents injuries or death. The goverment dont realize how mines are dangerous which they dont gives a fuck. I say it makes sense period.

+Jose Lopez Some people love to explore mines and have explored hundreds of mines safely. Why do you want to make people's choices for them instead of letting them choose on their own? What if you enjoyed safely responsibly climbing trees or cliffs with the proper tools and knowledge? Is it okay for me to ban you from doing that because I'm afraid you're not safe? No. Let people make their own choices.
