First example - got to where only 5789 were in the centermarks, and started colouring 5's from the 58 pair in block 4 (although I could have started from anywhere in the band) That coloring eliminated 5's from R1C2 and R9C3, leaving an 89 naked pair in block 1 that cracked the whole thing.
I did the first puzzle without searching for a skyscraper. Near the end, I colored 58s which shortly became 5-not5s. Then I colored 78s, although I don't think it was necessary -- after doing it, I found a 78 seeing a 7. I found a skyscraper in 1s in the second puzzle, and it seemed to crack open the puzzle. I continued merrily along until I broke the puzzle by placing a 3 in the face of a 37 pair. Not knowing what to do, I backtracked to the skyscraper and wiped out the cornermarks and centermarks, and repopulated them, applying the skyscraper in the process. I found a second skyscraper, in 2s, and then a finned X-wing in 3s. That let me finish the puzzle properly this time. 1:10 The puzzle at this stage is screaming to be cornermarked. Also, I managed to solve this without a skyscraper. 2:30 I goofed and saw a non-skyscraper in columns 5 and 9. The END: I found a skyscraper in 2s. With 3s, I found a finned X-wing instead of a skyscraper.
Nice job, John. Some of the other viewers also saw Finned X-Wings in example 2. I think when I did the first solving video, I did not use 3 Skyscrapers. Amberdot told me about it after watching my solve.
Oh, hello! This two were great Sudokus! I tried both of them. The first one I pencilmarked everything that I could than I watched your explanation. The second one I tried by myself first and I did find the 1, 2 and 3 skyscrapers! It took me 13:35 to finish the second. Thanks for the video! 🤗
5:02 I think I finally understand skyscraper. This kind of reminds me of if-then statements in coding. Also, on the second one, I found a UR. Idk if it's legit though since this is just about skyscrapers haha
1:25 There is obviously a 4 needed to be filled in r7c4 (full house), but that just shows 2 things: That you are human and that your videos aren't edited.
I had two XY wings, first R4C5 (57), R7C5 (58), R4C9 (78) eliminate the 8 from cell R7C9 and then R5C7 (78) , R8C7 (58) and R7C9 (57) eliminate the 8 from R4C9 (78) and then the puzzle colapse
Great question. After making the eliminations with that Skyscraper, you are left with only 1 place for a 1 in Block 4 and 1 place for a 1 in Block 5, so you can solve both of the blocks for a 1 in the cells that just happen to be the tips of the Skyscraper. Does that help?
Thank you for your question, Jeffery. With the 1's, you can make a Finned X-Wing using either Rows 1 and 4 or Columns 4 and 6, which allows for an elimination. There is not a traditional X-Wing that I can see. How familiar are you with Finned X-Wings?

Nice job using coloring, Kevin. Congrats on solving it that way. Thank you for sharing.

You are welcome, Ana!
5:02 I think I finally understand skyscraper. This kind of reminds me of if-then statements in coding.
Also, on the second one, I found a UR. Idk if it's legit though since this is just about skyscrapers haha
Nice job finding the UR. It is possible to see other strategies like that when you get to this point in a puzzle.

Thank you for catching that full house, Robert. You have a good eye. 👁️

Nice job spotting the XY-Wings. Thanks for sharing your method of solving. 😊
Sorry. You lost me at 10:08. Why can’t the cells in the top row be 1 instead of those in r4c6 and r5c3?

In example 2 isn't there an x-wing in there as well

How familiar are you with Finned X-Wings?
@SmartHobbies not familiar at all. I've heard of them but haven't watched a tutorial on them.
@@jefferystephens7677 You are in luck. I have made such a tutorial for you: ruclips.net/video/Ip9NxBQdgmI/видео.htmlsi=HeJDwHx3YUwkZzEj
@@SmartHobbies Awesome. Thank you very much.
