Just so you're aware... The title of this video is, "How I Use My Spurs". It is NOT, "How I Use The Calf Of My Leg". It is NOT, "How I Use My Heels". Most intelligent riders realize... if the horse responds to your calf or heel... it's NOT necessary to press with the spur. Just saying.
Oh, this is a delicate topic! I find this video very useful, brief and useful. Thanks! I hate the manner with which many riding instructors teaching to use spurs just jabbing; often with school horses that have became lazy. I think that's not the right solution, especially practiced by inexperienced students. Love your videos. Come to Italy for some clinic

Your question reveals you're not very knowledgeable about riding or training horses. There is no such thing as abusive or non-abusive spurs. The only difference is the way the rider uses them. Spurs are either used correctly or incorrectly.
