My last fighting game was Injustice, but its good to feel home again since Tekken 3 haha. I'm gonna learn these, but one move at a time. First step is to shuffle in the triple dash Y into my usual combos. I'll be back :)
i found out that you can do 1 more damage by doing after the launcher a qcf1 into micro dash into 3,2 into microdash into 3,2 b1+2. Then you can finish the combo however you want depending on the situation. Sometimes you can do the combo without the first microdash because it can put you off axis and doesnt let you continue the combo

Yeahhhh it’s a very tight window that I don’t usually bother with, even if I do get it consistently in practice mode I don’t wanna risk dropping the combo early in ranked matches, potentially missing out on 60+ damage and such.
this shit has been driving me crazy for years, i've landed Kazuya's ch df2 into perfect electric in t7 but can't do this qcf1 shit to save my life, as far as i'm concerned its just a flex combo, i can do it once out of 6,000 tries, i'm glad i don't play this char bc it seems like a benchmark to being considered a serious Paul main

Still pretty jarring to me and the controller inputs to me have always been easier for me to understand.
Just tried it out and I can get the backsway with enough space to dash to connect the 2p without the other guy flying. If thats the issue then it might be the timing of your dash before the sway combo or just cleaning up the sway motion into 1±2. Im kinda new so I hope this helps!
I was wondering if there are any special requirements for hitting DF4 after UF3,4 at the 2:45 mark? Right now it feels completely random whether DF4 connects or not.
great video, could you doublecheck 6:00 though, I've seen a video where this combo is done on King and Dragunov, so it's either possible on smaller characters than Jack/Bears in T8 as well or King/Dragunov iare considered large characters
this comment helped realize why so many combos weren't working for me and i had to learn how to micro dash LOL that is for sure a micro dash if you press forward forward while 2 is hitting (button buffering) he will dash right out of the move allowing you 2 extend the combo.

@@kamelhariri6422 for df1 into df1, you have to cancel it into back sway Input: df1b, df1 Df1 in general is not recommended in combos in tekken 8 because it's inconsistent and does less damage and it works after cherry picked moves only

Don't worry, being a scrub is a fixable condition. There's hope for you. You can just decide to learn the match-up at some point. Or better yet play some Paul yourself, see how "cheesy most carried" it is once you reach a reasonable rank.

slight correction, 31 sway cancel deathfist also works on normal chars, not only on bigs.

I just gave up on incorporating it, the timing seems too unlikely to catch during a match and you can find alternatives for damage
backsway cancel to deathfist now also applies to medium sized characters btw

It's literally the same 1,2,3,4 is universal
X/Square = 1 Y/Triangle = 2 A/X = 3 B/Circle = 4
It should get easier every time you see it. It's the same every time.
This is because xbox/ps buttons are internaly 1/2/3/4 etc. wired

Is is possible that combos like 1:48 dont work anymore? After 3 2 backsway the rest doesnt hit because the opponent fly away too far?

You don't need timing, just press f,f,f2 after 2. Pressing f,f then holding last f then pressing 2 after jab recovers is the easiest way to do it

Yeah you gotta be on point for it to hit. Takes practice to get the timing down. Same with more than one qcf1's in a combo

it's a typo, it should work on most characters if not all
