God the chords are so beautiful...it almost pisses me off just how good the textures, chords, and vocals are on this album. so sexy. It embodies the butterflies you get in your stomach when you fall in love with someone.
+Yanescudo Same here. It's WAY better than any of the other tracks. Has everything that's great about the best MBV tracks: the lazy sensuality, the wordless Bilinda Butcher cooing, a BEAUTIFUL melody, and the insistent repetition of a single riff for the last couple of minutes. Bonus, this is some of the best drumming on any MBV LP. The skip-beat is perfect for the song.
Just got word that I got accepted at the new job I applied for that truly is life changing. I’m leaving a job I’ve had for 8 years for this new gig and honestly it feels like a rebirth. I listened to this album on the trip home from the current old job, and when this song came on it hit me finally and I just burst into tears and crying full of nothing but happiness and overwhelming joy. I felt human and insignificant all in one. There’s moments in people’s lives where you feel deeply emotionally connected to everything all at once and that was one of those moments. I don’t know man. Hearing this with that feeling all I can describe it to is like being hugged by your mother for a long time or something similar. It’s so instinctively human and real.
This is becoming one of those classic albums where each time you listen to a certain track and hear it with more clarity than you previously did, that track becomes your favourite.
For some reason I get nostalgic when listening to this song. It reminds me of the time I was a kid (end 90's - begin 2000) The guitar sequence is hypnotizing. Beautiful beautiful song
The songwriting on this one always reminds me of that James Bond theme they did in the mid-90s, "We Have All the Time in the World". There's a real 60s pop vibe here behind all the gauze.
I remember when I first rediscovered the album, I was on vacation resting at my old folks' house in the midst of summer, in some backwater. I was laying on the couch, in this small shack that my grandfather built not far from the house, and it was close to twilight when the song came on my headphones. The afternoon had been sunny and mild but the temperature went down a small notch, summer plants' scents were still floating in the air and I couldn't tell if it was bright or dark, nor could I define the colour of the light : was it blue, yellow, pink ? It seemed that it was all at once, or neither one of them. Sounds cliché, but time did stop for about the duration of the song and the haze that it got to mold ironed out all my emotions. A strange time of my life indeed ! It remains my favourite off the album to this day.
Casually-brilliant. I love how they go from the first three epics to a casual, breezy, summery, lovely shimmery gossamer pop confection like this (and then to "Nothing Is"!). Like Cocteau Twins at their finest, they've taken their signature sound and come up with something totally refreshing and new without losing any of the original elementz that made the sound amazing.
I love it so much... this song reminds me of the greatest tracks by Cocteau Twins... that kind of urgency and yet unhurried beauty. I listen every day.
I'm not gonna dig through every comment here, but idk if this is common knowledge or not - the outro to this song is actually a sped up and reversed demo version of the following track on the album - 'New You'.
The mixing on this is impeccable. If you actually listen closely, other than the faint drums, it’s actually hard to identify any instrument being played. But together it’s just magnificent
They did it!!!! My Bloody Valentine put out a great record equal to or as good as Loveless. I would have never thought they could something like this, but they did. This is my favorite song on the record. All hail Kevin Shields!!!!
This is my favorite track on an incredible record! I am so glad this band came back and dropped this record. Thank you Kevin and the rest of the band for restoring my faith in miracles. I would have never thought that this would get done. Was it worth the wait? I don't know, but I will say the record is amazing!
def def def one of the BEST mbv songs ever ever ever!! yay! ...the drum track just tumbles into its beautiful self! can we loop that along with Belinda's voice forever please??
I met mine a few months ago and there is no way in hell I’m losing him. I’ve never met anyone else that listens to mbv. He’s a professional guitarist with a crazy pedal collection, so he plays some mbv riffs for me sometimes. Life is beautiful. Life is grand.
My friends and I went to a desolate beach once to eat some mushrooms, I spent the entire day before putting together a playlist (yes, there was a lot of shoegaze in it). On the way there, I micro-dosed with LSD and when we got there and started tripping it was amazing, the music was beyond words, like listening to nature itself, sounded very much like this. Yet I wasn't even able to get through turning on my iPod and wearing the earphones. That was it for me, I knew then that I had already gotten all that I will ever get from drugs. Took me some while after that to stop doing it, of course, I had to see if I could still recreate that trip first. Never did. Drugs are bad, except only for when they're good.
this is 21st century mbv. It's as much a progression from Loveless as Loveless was from Isn't Anything. It's just a bit sad we don't have to preceding EP's
I am in serious awe over this record, there are so many layers, they could EASILY occupy anyone for a lifetime...Loveless is amazing and legendary all by its self but this one, m v b, sounds like an equally towering supernova all on it's own. Yes it was a long time coming but dare I say, it was pretty worth it to have music this gorgeous!! I believe the only way they could REALLY shock us now is to start releasing new records of this caliber every couple years from now on...
Respectable opinion, just cause an album is a classic doesnt mean you have to like it over the rest of an artist's discography. I like loveless more as an album, but the best songs on mbv are better than the best songs on loveless. But the worst songs on here suck WAY more than the worst songs on loveless
Sigfrido Parra Aye it doesn’t have to be no but loveless for me is the best body of work they have put out, nothing touches what you want or when you sleep on this album for me
this is the most 'lovesless' sounding track on the album. not that i'm knocking the other 8. fucking love m b v, nice one Mr. Shields. You truly are the King of Kings
Oye, algún día lloverá porque necesito hoy o mañana Ven por mi mente, será mejor que venga esta vez Oye, me estoy cayendo, quédate porque estoy contigo donde estás Todo sobre esta noche, para, estarás ahí si me caigo. Chords: docs.google.com/document/d/1kCKKhMNTe9aJPuUNjxdvTStC_yAZYORJldqt2KyL5Zg/edit?usp=sharing These have vaguely similar piano voicings. On guitar these are probably split across multiple guitars.
This song sounds like I can see my very being split into two while I rise to the heavens above while Mrs. Butcher sings sweet nothings to my soul ...this isn't even my favorite on the album
Everyone keeps talking about how this song is like falling in love, I just got of a relationship while I’m hearing this for the first time so it’s strange lol
yeah, I think besides only tomorrow & new you that if I am penetrates the heart the most. I can't claim that mbv is a triumph over previous works( in fact I doubt that was the goal), but this definitely has just as much of an emotional impact as loveless or even glider. regardless of how long it took to sort things out, I definitely applaud & forever love their work
"Loveless" is such a landmark album that it is natural for us to have exceedingly high expectations. This is a great album though that's growing on me just like "Loveless" did.
this song is impossibly beautiful. i wish i could meet people who appreciate its beauty.
I feel this 🤘🏾
I wish it was a little louder
i'm in japan come see me
Some headphones and Bilinda whispering "be my lover" into my brain. Life is good.
Is Kevin singing backup vox?
@@startervisions it sounds like it’s all her to me
@@djfulci ok
@@startervisions imo, yes it is also kevin, especially in the outro section

I agree

My favorite song of all time. No exaggeration. Will sometimes listen to this, and only this, for days on end.
Been there dawg, this shit is incredible. An addictive sort of coziness to the melancholy.
if ure here u have the best taste ever

in retrospect probably the best song of the album. i once read it described perfectly. 'this song is melting and so am i'
Very true. This track makes me feel emotions that I didn’t even know existed
Just got word that I got accepted at the new job I applied for that truly is life changing. I’m leaving a job I’ve had for 8 years for this new gig and honestly it feels like a rebirth. Listen to their first 4 albums....
thats whats happening to me rn
For some reason I get nostalgic when listening to this song. It reminds me of the time I was a kid (end 90's - begin 2000) The guitar sequence is hypnotizing. Beautiful beautiful song
This song makes me think of old memories. It’s just so pretty and dreamy
Song of the year for me. Few times i've been this fascinated with a song. This sounds like a living dream.
The songwriting on this one always reminds me of that James Bond theme they did in the mid-90s, "We Have All the Time in the World". There's a real 60s pop vibe here behind all the gauze.

@@TheDWlover I will! Am just getting back to it after a long while
This is what falling in love sounds like.
This is like licking and being licked by heaven.
Good description
It's pure orgasm baby, straight up the mainline-that tunnel of love, righteous-like.
It should be illegal to make a song this good...
Thankfully it’s not illegal but I get ya 👍, it seems that it is illegal for anyone else to do something this good though

Do you like west coast pop art experimental band?
This song is under-rated. One of my favorites on the album.
I love it so much... this song reminds me of the greatest tracks by Cocteau Twins... that kind of urgency and yet unhurried beauty. I listen every day.
I'm not gonna dig through every comment here, but idk if this is common knowledge or not - the outro to this song is actually a sped up and reversed demo version of the following track on the album - 'New You'.
this song sounds the best during a middle of a trip and i leave everyone i’m around and go outside, to pop in headphones to recuperate/rest my atoms
The mixing on this is impeccable. If you actually listen closely, other than the faint drums, it’s actually hard to identify any instrument being played. But together it’s just magnificent
Personally I hear 3 distinct guitars. Not counting the one on the vocal melody lead line half way through
This is the best song of the album!
+AwesomeAsFxxk1039 Definitely the best track on the album. By a mile. As good as most of the songs on Loveless.
+Milo Cooper I Only Said it's my favorite song of Loveless and My Bloody Valentine. I can't explain the feeling...
AwesomeAsFxxk1039 "I Only Said," fantastic track. One of the best on the album, yes.
Lysergic lounge sounds of mellow.

underrated aspect of this track - the hypnotic clockwork drum pattern
