These tanks were set up only for few days, for the ZooBotanica 2012 fair in Wrocław, Poland. You can come to this year's edition of this fair, which will be held on September 2013.
If you mean the large root on the right side - I'm not sure if this is mopani wood. I rather doubt it, considering the price such arge fragment would have... As for the method for attaching it - I think it just "stands" on the bottom, leaning against the right wall or internal filter (or both :) )
do you know where I can find more videos or pictures of the second to last tank in this film? I tried registering for the forum you showed the link for in the video, but I wasn't able to register.
Hi, I like the central european biotope, maybe the sand is a little too perfect, but it's ok. Do you know where could I find the plant and fish-list from this first biotope?
Sure you can, it's just a matter of scale. In fact, some time ago the guys from the Pleco forum did similar layout, with this artificial bank, in a nano aquarium. And it also looked good :)
is oak or alder your choise because of it's tannins (alder) and acidity (oak) in the wood ??? Or is acidy of oak only in the leaves and tannins only in the alder"fruits"? I preperad a good oak piece close to where I live (belgium) last week (after further research of the internet), and one piece even sinks after a few days..; i was surprised because its (dry) weight is normally only 0,7. Thanks for your interesting information. I'm gonna collect more free oak wood ;) enjoy your hobby.
good day sir...how do they keep the leafs from rotting and is that wood treated (and how) in the tank at 7:01 ? pls respond cos i want to use the same kind of branch. tnx sir
Nope, there is no blue light over the tank, at all. Neons look so nice when the water is stained brown, which is typical for black water setups. Sometimes a pink fluorescent tube can be added, to intensify the blue-shimmering effect, but usually just any normal light will suffice. It's just that the water has to be tea-coloured, because of lots of driftwood and dead leaves.
look great, i want to have the same effect on my neon. are you using blue led for that effect? and what type of led are they? i tried some blue lighting for my tank, but it make the whole tank blue, which i don't really want. thanks a lot
I was finally able to register. It wasnt working with chrome so i use internet explorer. I wish it worked in chrome b/c chrome will translate. Once i registered i tried to find the posts about that tank but i couldnt. Could you tell me exactly where to go or send me the link to the post? Thanks
@7:20 what kind of wood is used in that tank? because I want to have the same wood, the leaves are nice and I think the fruit of it is the one making the water looks tan, is it?
Well, most work consumed the preparation of the artificial slope (bank) - it's styrofoam carved to proper shape and covered with gravel. The rest was arranged "on site", in the exhibition hall, and it took not more than few hours.
Can I get more insight / intruction on how the bank (background) was formed for the tank @10:00. How did you guys get the texture affect and how did you shape the styrofoam. Was it just normal white styrofoam like you get in packages or special kind? Thank you for the help
thanks for upload, especially for polish lowland river "cudze chwalicie, swego nie znacie". It would be great to see Rhodeus sericeus, Gasterosteus aculeatus or Pungitius pungitius during their spawning behaviour
If you boil the leaves for couple of minutes before putting them into aquarium everyting should be fine :) To be on a safe side, after boiling you can put them into a bucket with water, for a few days, and only after that put them into aquarium.
Well, my wild guess would be that alder cones and oak leaves release more tannins and acidify the water more, comparing to the wood - but it's just a guess, I'm not an expert on this :)
Hey :) I'm not sure if they have any thread on this tank at the forum. Send a PM to the user called "Killifish", he was at their booth all the time during ZooBotanica, and was involved in making this tank. He speaks English, so you guys will understand eachother. What's your nick there, BTW? (I'l write to Killifish and let him know that you'll contact him :) )
the story goes that in the early times, when the animals could speak and when AquascapeTV was still a dream, people used the bark of oak for its brown tannins, mixed with a few other stuff to create brown painting... although bark is not a good idea to put in your tank... anyway, I hope to find a fish-tank-aquascape expert soon. I'm gonna meet a man soon (who has beautiful scalare variation on peru altum), so I hope to find out more.
You have a point it could be aesthetically pleasing as aquascaped tanks but I in my own opinion think there is nothing really natural about aquacsaping than just recreating of land scenery which in any case fish dont live lol
Josh Modic Exactly! :) Aquascapes have nothing to do with natural habitats of fish. And the same goes for so called "nature aquariums", which are actually the most artificial tanks ever.
Aquatic Lifestyle i used to have very thought out tanks were i spent more time grooming the tank than actually looking at it then i went to go for plants and fish that live in the same area but even that became tiresome sometimes ide get a plant that was from the same area and theyd shred it not surprising though but then i realized hell 90% of fresh water fish are captive breed and raised so as long as there are some plant they dont care if there wild counterparts are hiding in they just want to hide so im doing my tank over one more time and hopefully that will be a settup im happy with and can just enjoy hopefully ill post a video
I don't think this biotopes are too good, seen many much better. For example, the 2nd one doesn't even have the stream required for that biotope, not to say it's not very good looking... Still it's always great to se people on the journey of the biotope!!! :D I love them :)
What was used to make the land in the South America Lowland River. I've wanted to do that for many years and all I could ever find for an answer was styrofoam, which I won't use in an aquarium.
Exactly, it was styrofoam :) Here you can find all the details (in Polish, but photos are pretty much self-explaining): www.dfa.net.pl/budowa-tla-w-akwa-pleco-storm-iii-t1299.html
The way aquariums, terrariums, exotic pets and pet supplies are becoming it would lead to a new environmentally sensitive group but like a type of witchcraft a new colony of people that hardly leave their house with jungles now attainable indoors behind glass could form.
These tanks were set up only for few days, for the ZooBotanica 2012 fair in Wrocław, Poland. You can come to this year's edition of this fair, which will be held on September 2013.
wow the last one was STUNNING
so much work must have been put into that
Some of the rooted plants are: Nuphar sp., Myriophyllum, Sagittaria sp., Ceratophyllum sp.. Floating plants: Trapa natans, Salvinia natans. Fish: Silver bream Abramis bjoerkna, Silurus glanis, Alburnus alburnus, Carassius auratus.
If you mean the large root on the right side - I'm not sure if this is mopani wood. I rather doubt it, considering the price such arge fragment would have... As for the method for attaching it - I think it just "stands" on the bottom, leaning against the right wall or internal filter (or both :) )
Why were you not able to register? What was the problem?
The last was nicest and close to a real museum like exhibit. Just needed more water movement.
It's called "Jaracanda", and is available with iLife software one gets with a Mac computer.
Last tank is superb!
Anyone know the plants at the back right in the first tank? They're growing from the substrate and out of the water.
I love the last one! could i still achieve this effect in a 3ft long aquarium? of 16" high? how many angels do you recommend?
These tanks are more natural living environment/habitat of fresh/tropical fishes. Than the aquascape. aquascape is more a display of aquatic garden.
do you know where I can find more videos or pictures of the second to last tank in this film? I tried registering for the forum you showed the link for in the video, but I wasn't able to register.
What fish? There are several aquariums shown in the video, I don't know which one you think of?
Hi, I like the central european biotope, maybe the sand is a little too perfect, but it's ok. Do you know where could I find the plant and fish-list from this first biotope?
Why dissapointment...? The black water can be fairly clear, it all depends if it was raining or not...
Sure you can, it's just a matter of scale. In fact, some time ago the guys from the Pleco forum did similar layout, with this artificial bank, in a nano aquarium. And it also looked good :)
on that southeast asia tank. how did you attached the mopani wood
Is there any specific wood choise for an amazon biotoop ? If yes, I like to know ....
is oak or alder your choise because of it's tannins (alder) and acidity (oak) in the wood ??? Or is acidy of oak only in the leaves and tannins only in the alder"fruits"? good day sir...how do they keep the leafs from rotting and is that wood treated (and how) in the tank at 7:01 ? pls respond cos i want to use the same kind of branch. tnx sir
This music is called "Svannah (afro ambient version)" and is available at Royalty-Free(dot)tv :)
great video as usual.
Nope, there is no blue light over the tank, at all. Neons look so nice when the water is stained brown, which is typical for black water setups. Love that last tank.
A pleasure for the eye. Thank for sharing.
Glad you like it :)
Why type of fish are they ?
What is "aquaphant"?
any idea the name of the silver fish in 1st tank?
I was finally able to register. It wasnt working with chrome so i use internet explorer. I wish it worked in chrome b/c chrome will translate. Once i registered i tried to find the posts about that tank but i couldnt. Could you tell me exactly where to go or send me the link to the post? Thanks

How do I get the music? what is the name of the song?? thank you

I'm looking forward to see it on video :) I've just watched you 3 x Malawi nanos with fish bridges, this is really cool! :)
Can some one please please tell me he name of the sound track please
That's true, it looks very good :) The angelfish, however, seem to be little bit scared...
how is name of silver fishes in first aquarium ?
thanks for upload, especially for polish lowland river "cudze chwalicie, swego nie znacie". It would be great to see Rhodeus sericeus, Gasterosteus aculeatus or Pungitius pungitius during their spawning behaviour
what are the silver fish in the first aquarium

I prefer the channa's tank, so nicely build !
Do u have arowana biotope video?
Gdzie pływają żaby...?
Forgive the ignorance but what kind of catfish was that in the Euro River aquarium?
It was small Silurus glanis, or wels catfish, I think.
If you boil the leaves for couple of minutes before putting them into aquarium everyting should be fine :) To be on a safe side, after boiling you can put them into a bucket with water, for a few days, and only after that put them into aquarium.
the last aquarium is my DREAM!!!
i think all Aquariums were nice but isnt it wrong to put Pterophyllum scalare with axelrodi´s?Dont the scalars want to eat them?
6 meters???? Wow... Any videos of this monster? ;)
The first aq, waht are these for plants in the right corner who comes aut of the water?
Most probably it's Typha latifolia - coldwater species. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typha
DefiniteAquascapeTV thx :-)
That baby wels catfish (?) is adorable
The last one is so so so pretty....
You can't stop them from decomposing. All you can do is to replace them from time to time with new ones.
At 3.21, was that a snakehead?
Anand kumar Yes, indeed :)
Got it! Thank you! Good luck
Amazing tanks. My tank I'm gonna try this. Love the look. Subbed.
Well, my wild guess would be that alder cones and oak leaves release more tannins and acidify the water more, comparing to the wood - but it's just a guess, I'm not an expert on this :)

i mean the tank with angel and neon fish during minute 7
It's sliver bream Abramis bjoerkna.
No worries, neons were too big, and scalars too small :)
Well, as far as I know, driftwood from coniferous trees shouldn't be used. The best is oak or alder, the same applies for dried leaves.
snakeheads?
Hmmm, "deeper"...?
Yup, actually it's my fav in this vid :)
No worries, mate :)
I have south american bitope and love the tan water looks natural and my fish are happy i dont care for aquascaping as much as a more natural look
And, if a biotope tank is arranged skillfully, it can be even similarly attractive as "aquascaped" tanks :)
You have a point it could be aesthetically pleasing as aquascaped tanks but I in my own opinion think there is nothing really natural about aquacsaping than just recreating of land scenery which in any case fish dont live lol

Thank you so much I'm a very happy man.
I wish I could do this!
+ DefiniteAquascapeTV - You have a Cat-knife fish?
+luis german romero chavez Nope, I don't. Why?
Great! Thanks for the reply, much appreciated :)
I like it!

at 4 mins?
they appear to be african snakeheads but im not sure
sean mulhall I doubt they'll have african snakeheads in a southeast asian biotope :P
And quite large, too ;)
si sabes hablar español me suscribo saludos
why no one using black molly for south america black water themed aquarium? imo its gonna looks good.
They don't belong to blackwater rivers, that's why
LE DI LIKE AL VIDEO PERO NO APARECE :C
Hehe, nice setup, insn't it? :)
is very goot
6:58 great aquarium
To nie żaby, tylko ryby. Nazywają się wężogłowy :) Szkoda jarzeńców... :(( Dlaczego zdechły?
Hey, mate :) Nope, I don't speak Spanish, unfortunately... :/
Well, it's coldwater biotope :)
Young Guianacara stergiosi.
Me too! ;)
Even my dog could have done the first one..
JURARIA QUE ESTE VIDEO ESTABA TRADUCIDO :S
CREO QUE USASTE TRADUCTOR JAJAJA
None of these look natural. I prefer biotopes that look as if you are actually in a natural environment
We don't care what you like .... just enjoy or change channel
mine too haha
Telat 8tahun😂😂
