What sets Caidic apart from the shooters that we had after....is that meron cyang quick fake and 1 dribble side step tapos quick release at highly accurate pa...Legendary talaga....di nga halos sini set up eh nadodominate pa nya yung offense...kahit anong generation pa ilagay si Allan...swak talaga...sakit cguro ng ulo ng makakalaban nito ngayon...speaking of fantasy teams/line up....ganda sana idagdag to sa Gilas team today....28-31 yrs old version na Caidic
The only downside I think with Caidic is that he was a deadweight on defense. But in terms of shooting & offensive firepower, he's absolutely among the best that ever played in Asian basketball.

If Samboy was not injured that year malaki difference nagawa he is one of the best national player that time. i remember this one while vacant time sa college nanood kami with kaklase tuwang tuwang kami lamang ng 10 then kinapos din so natalo din sa China and sa Japan missed a podium finish.
Ganda nito 8 years old palang ako nito at di pa nanunuod ng Basketball puro Maskman at Mask rider pa.. Hindi biro itong team ng Korea with Hur Jae, Seo Jang Hoon, Moon, atbp all out ang Korea. Thanks Sir Allan Caidic sa video!!

Hur Jae was a legend, but I think even as early as ‘94 there is already a changing of the guard as Moon was already on the way up.
Sometimes I forget how elite a shooter Caidic is. He is probably the most successful Filipino in international tournaments.
Johnny A was elite as well. No wonder there was chatter back then that the Charlotte Hornets were interested in him. He is still the scariest among all the point guards the Philippines ever had.
By ‘98, it was Moon, Kang, and Seo as the leaders of the Korean team. They also had a power forward back then whose name, I think, was Hyun Joo Hyup and he was called the “Korean Charles Barkley”.
It’s always a firefight everytime we face Korea. We’re pretty close in terms of size and length. We have a slight advantage in natural basketball talent. But they have an overwhelming advantage in terms of basketball discipline… and that is usually the game breaker, as we often fall ever so short of victory against them.
Very much agree with what you've said. The Koreans play a very unique style of basketball which Pinoy players had trouble dealing with. The Koreans are sharp shooters & are known for their crisp passing.
This was perhaps among Allan Caidic's best game as a national player. Too bad Phi lost this very important game vs. South Korea. I very much remember watching this game as I & my 4 classmates had to skip our exams in a major subject during college just to watch this game live on TV. I couldn't help but be awestruck with Caidic's awesome 3-pt shooting in this game.

The greatest shooter of all time --- Allan Caidic. I really think that if Caidic and Patrimonio had the height, they could play in the NBA. Patrimonio's footwork is NBAish talent. Caidic's shooting and even the way he moves is also NBAish. Imagine if these guys were 6'9" and 6'8" respectively, they would certainly be NBA stars.
