Bro i am a gamer and i use a tp link basic 2.4hz router so should i upgrade to d link dir 841 router for 50mbps plan ......and is it good for long term use? Or there is some other options in that price range?
841 has gigabit but for wan only. For lan it maxes out at 100 Megabits. However, 825 got gigabit with lan as well aside from extra usb option. 🙏

The problem seems to be with the OnePlus 6 wifi module as well, because i have a 150mbps router and in my laptop i get full 50mbps over wifi while in OP6 i just get 20mbps. Still it seems the router is good

You forgot the most important features of this router:
1. It is a fantastic repeater/Access Point, Tenda, Mercurysys are all crap for this function.
2. All other routers at a lower price point have 100 MBPS ethernet ports (which is very very bad, means your > 100 MBPS internet connection does not get full speeds via repeater). Gigabit ports are AN important feature.
3. The USB file sharing IS very user friendly, if properly setup once by a semi tech literate person, a feature you missed completely:
SAMBA share. Enable it, and add it to your Windows Homegroup (pretty easy to do), then this router will show up in Network Places on all PCs. In today's work from home environment, this will allow multiple laptop/desktops to easily share files.
4. Again, related to repeater functionality: Network Shaping: It allows to seamlessly handover clients from one router to next access point depending upon signal strength. People have to do nothing to get better network coverage from one router to another. And all the devices can connect to each other irrespective of which router or Access Point they are connected to.
How can u say . Tp link / Mercusys are worse than it regarding wds(repeater)
@@prafullrahangdale9325 The problem with TP Link and Mercurysys routers is that their AP mode has problems. If you plug the Ethernet connection from primary router into their WAN port, then you cannot have the rest of the LAN pets and WiFi on the same subnet. So, if the main network is on 192.168.1.*/24, the AP network will be on 192.168.2.*/24 not 192.168.1.*/24.
This means devices connected to the AP cannot automatically find devices on main router. So, shared network printer is not available, Alexa cannot find devices and when going from one network to another, you lose any ongoing connections.
The solution to this is to plug the incoming connection into one of the LAN ports, and configure a static address for the device. But then you lose a LAN port, and the system takes time to connect in case of power failure.
Moreover, in case of Mercurysys, on some devices, while the ports are indeed gigabit 1GBps, there hub co inside isn't. So, if only one port is connected, it will give full 1GBps speed, but will fall back to 100MBps if more ports are connected. This is severely felt of you have a media server and are watching a movie on one system, while other connected systems are downloading updates or other things.
Remember, while you external connection might be 200MBps, the internal network is 1GBps, so for transfer internally on the Ethernet should be in GBps. But on some Mercurysys models, it isn't.

Bro currently I have 50 mbps connection and I'm planning to upgrade it to 150 Mbps. .Some people says that you have to buy gigabit router, not normal router as they may have a 900 mbps 5G band but max they will provide 100 mbps on the wifi due to 10/100 wan port. .If it is true then is this router is good to go and any way to find that if one router is gigabit or not?
You are thinking correctly, but he forgot to mention that this router has gigabit ethernet ports. So you can easily get full speed.
Plus this router also has an excellent Access Point functionality, where if you connect this router ia cat 6 cable, and set it up as Access Point, and give it the same WiFi Name (SSID) and password, then it will extend your WiFi signals without interence, and you can then freely roam between the two router getting good speeds everywhere.
