Rory's musical talents were almost an embarrassment of riches. And yet they could not have been bestowed on a more humble, focused and dedicated practitioner of the craft. He really was one of a kind. 🎸
Never fails to bring tears to my eyes whenever I listen to this track. Gone forever but will never ever be forgotten. The one and only Rory Gallagher. No one like him since. Thank you, lad, and rest in eternal peace. Much love from your loyal fans worldwide.
Rory had it all- songwriting talent, guitar innovator, looks, superior work ethic, and a gentle attitude. He lived the "rock and roll dream" kids my age aspired to. He truly enjoyed his work; his bliss. No glitter, no glam, no gimmicks.
Rory was a true humanist. He brought music to Belfast during its most violent times. He cared about people. I cried when he passed. There will never be another Rory Gallagher.
It is one of his best ever, and certainly the best of the last phase- which started with Photo Finish and Top Priority. He had moved away from pure balls out white blues rock and into the beauty and grace and melancholy of this. It’s lovely. And 40 years old. How scary is that!

I just discovered Overnight Bag a couple days ago when I bought Photo Finish mainly for Shadow Play... Wow. I've been hearing it on repeat non-stop. Just amazing melodies and accents here and there, not to mention great lyrics. Absolute perfection. The intro and outro alone are masterpieces.

Rory is talked about with the very highest respect and are the most admired by music lovers and my thousand of others other brilliant players all over our wide world, Rory was a brilliant wordsmith, storyteller, frontman, leader of the band, player, top singer and was surround by all his Commanders in chiefs- all the boys in his band. Rory was Gods favorite player when he was on this earth by a verylong Heavenly mile. So no more about Rory being underrated because that was never true, OK

I love his feel & chops to die for; being a muso & music teacher; he WAS different. He's a better player than any of the Vais, Satches. Slashs' who l dig; but there is ONLY ONE RORY GALLAGHER. He actually plays CHORDS too ( differently); like the jazz guys; THATS RIGHT! RORY RULES!! 🎸💚👑💞☘️

One of favorite songs by Rory, especially the lyrics. Wondering where the "Notes From San Fransisco" version has gone from RUclips. I know Rory hated that album (from what I've heard at least), and am wondering if it's due to a copywrite issue or something like that. Any ideas? Rory On!!
