Do it all for the plot. Best your rivals, experience storybook moments, and rise to power. Many worlds can be kingdoms, but only one Sim can wear the crown!
A Noble is never off-duty and has many tasks to perform. Hold Court, enact Decrees, and more! Make decisions that will win you the hearts of the people - or court the approval of other Nobles with choices that benefit them. Diligently performing your duties and building up Favor with either commoners or other Nobles can earn you higher titles. That's one path to power, but it's not the only way.
Rivals may block your path to the top, and you can get around them in a few different ways. You could try diplomacy, which involves encouraging (or pressuring ) them to abdicate. Or, you can learn of a potential Scandal and either extort them or expose it to hurt their rank. You can also handle things more directly by challenging them to a Duel of Swordsmanship.
How you ascend is up to you, and there are even Powershifts pulled right out of fantasy stories. Finding and wooing a Noble Frog could up your rank, but the frog might reject you. Finding magical crystal shoes is another path to higher ranks, as well as love. There's also Anansi's Well, where you can complete trials, a mirror that may reward or punish you, and a one of a kind mythical sword, Simcalibur. You can become Kingdom Leader instantly if you pull Simcalibur from the stone, but it will only allow someone worthy to claim it.

I just learned a little about the ins and outs of vampire occultism in TS4. Miss Hell was turned into a vampire by Vlad (I also thought she was an ancient vampire because her name was "Miss Hell" xD).
But, you know, this could be a great story, that Miss Hell would be the cause of Vlad's downfall (as an ancient vampire/vampire king) and she would become the Vampire Queen along with her friends (Kat Cave & Markus Crow).

@Cookincrazyso basically it's confirmed that Johnny is the son of landgraab family but due to his way of living (wants to be comedian) he was disowned by them. He doesn't show up on the family tree because they didn't exist at the launch of the sims 4.
On Reddit they were saying he would be added to the family tree but it'd only be for new saves.

Hard to be excited for a royal dynasty when I just lost multiple generations of photos due to a bug that's supposed to be fixed
Exactly i never had the broken pictures bug until they decided to *fix* the problem and now all of my photos are gone
Yup I never had this problem either until I decided to take my sims on vacation for like the first time since it came out and not a single photo survived 😭
It happened to me too! Every single picture gone. How I got them back is I went to recover saves when you go to older saves. I found one where the pictures were still there. I lost a couple hours gameplay but it was worth it for my pictures!
Always save them to your library. Make a gallery wall and save it. If you saved your lot to your library previously and your photos were still in it, then those should still work too.
This bug is unpredictable and is always popping up in different ways.

I saw a sim dancing/kissing a frog. I hope the means they are bringing back the Sims 1 feature that lets us kiss frogs and have them turn into princes 🥰

As well as the game works, that will happen on its own. I love 100 baby challenges, and have one going all the time. Due to the 150/180 sims per game rule, it does get Hapsburg-y after about 25-30 kids. It does filter out/destroy townies etc, but not sins on your family tree. The older kids start having kids and mom keeps cranking out more, so you start to see cousins and half-siblings marry by about kid 50. I know this because I keep track on a spreadsheet (since Sims3), and look at the family tree every day I play so I can track grandkids etc. They literally need a consanguinity barrier on the tree so the game won't autonomously marry you to your great aunt. They don't have that sort of wall because the family tree system sucks.
@rosameryrojas-delcerro1059 sounds like you are close to what I was thinking. doing a bit of math. if each generation get two kids. in four generations all royalty can have a common ancestor.

I usually wait until the pack comes out. Then I'm definitely using the items that comes with it.

Yeah, it’s confirmed the Capps are back from Sims 2. Though we’re not sure whether the Monts will be back as that’s not yet confirmed.

I have to ask... In what way do you think Pride and Prejudice is the same as Royalty? None of the systems in this trailer look like you could mirror any of Jane Austen's work without having to add some weird monarchy bullshit to them. Austen was not a fan of the monarchy in her time and was careful to write only distantly about characters who were presented at court. She didn't include royal families in her work by choice and was pretty harsh on a lot of higher nobility in her books too. I just don't see how you can equate her work with this pack.

This expansion looks really promising. However, as fans, we still hope that a music-focused expansion will be added, featuring singers, bands, and new instruments. We’d love to be able to create our own music idols and take them to music competitions! What’s more, cars are still missing… I can’t believe that, according to our research, these are low-demand features. No way.

After seeing the video about how they choose what to add into the game, I can kinda understand it. If the majority of players never used cars, etc, in TS3 then it makes sense to not add them to TS4.

I AM LIVING FOR THIS PACK! I'm also afraid that my expectations may be high. Like I need titles, war/revolts, a privy council that works with or against family in power, maybe an Heirless trait. Definitely would be nice to have more of a free world than in Sims Medieval. How realistic will it be though??? This pack has the potential to be one of the best not even including the build/buy items and decor

I don't practice fencing, but it seems to me that fencing/piercing/thrusting weapons don't fight like they would with a regular sword.

I’m thinking it’s either him or his dad Caliban, cuz in the reveal trailer, the current royal family of the Capp dynasty (yes, they actually name-drop the Capps), we see that the king had three kids, one son and two daughters, just like how Caliban had three children, Tybalt, Juliet and Hermia.
But looking at the screenshot, that masquerade mask looks a lot like Tybalt’s facepaint from Sims 2…
@Descender98it’s not Caliban remember he took Cornelia’s last name, he was never a Capp and if you compare the kings parents to what Caliban and Cornelia looked like they were the same

I’ve made a decision that I’m proud of. I was completely unaware of the sale when I purchased this preorder, but I had to refund it because I don’t support the sale. This is one of the worst business decisions you’ve made. I’ve spent roughly over $600 on this game, and it’s frustrating to see how many players are upset with the state of the game. And I also found out that we don't own the game, just the license to play, which added more incentive to not continue to purchase items I don't own. I rather not play at all than continue supporting a brand that doesn't care for its community.
