    Set the work part in vise using parallels
    put the end mill or Edge finder to spindle
    rotate the spindle and move toward the X axis
    then Slightly touch the part
    stop when you see the small puff of metal shavings
    then Zero the X axis by pressing X and absolute set
    then raise the End Mill or Edge Finder
    moves the X direction toward the part by half a diameter of tool D=50/2 =25
    then re zero X axis by pressing X and absolute set
    and repeat process for Y axis
    then zero the Z axis by slightly touching the tool top of the work
    and press Z and absolute set

    You could have just left the y at .100 and that is your zero
