My first thought was that a lot of dudes in metal bands need to hit the gym. My second thought was that Slayer was moving more in that little clip than they did the entire concert when I saw them. The third thought was that I feel like the only person who doesn't really care about genres and subgenres.
I have no idea how to identify one subgenre from another and I don't really care. I just listen to the music. No sense getting so caught up in defining a song that you forget to enjoy it for what it is.

We tend to recommend the same songs over and over and neglect the others but there are people making requests. You just have to pay attention. There are no bad Babymetal songs but there are occasionally bad compilation videos so you just have to ask for the best links.

I know nothing about Metal subgenre taxonomy, and of all the things that I know nothing about, it’s the one that bothers me the least. I just know that BABYMETAL cover a wide range of different styles, and I love every single song. Which is quite interesting, since I hardly liked any of the music they have been compared with here (with the exception of Dream Theater). But there’s another point that made it interesting to me: Seeing Gimme Chocolate and Slayer back to back makes one realize that the verses in GC are indeed no less heavy than Slayer‘s music. The clever fusion in BM‘s music just makes it less obvious. Proves to me how ingenious they are.

Hey I just realized that vid is kinda old. It was made before the Metal Galaxy album came out. They need to make a new one with some of the stuff from that album. Ok just make a vid with Babymetal in it and it's a better vid already. I love to see Babymetal do a MV in the hairmetal style with their hair blown out. All the metal in BabyMetal needs an update and several of the songs were not in the right sub genre anyway
