I have great memories of staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel and enjoying the character breakfast at PCH Grill several times when my daughter was a little girl. The last time I stayed there was with my husband, daughter and her husband just a few weeks before the pandemic hit. The resort needs some updating- but it will always have a special place in my ❤️🙂

My husband, kids & I stayed at Paradise Pier three times (park view rooms) and we loved it! The staff was amazing when our son had a 24-hour flu bug, sending up extra towels, bedding & even some soup to settle his stomach! I can't say enough nice things about them!! Thanks for sharing as it's been six years since we were there last as we live in Canada!

I stayed at the Paradise pier in 2004 when it was newly renovated, and just on the 4th of July stayed at the Grand California.
2019 and 2020 you could not walk into the grand California without showing your room key from the street, they made you walk around and go in down town Disney entrance.
And at Bayside brews it’s a must for the pineapple hard cider.

In 2002 we did a family vacation & booked 5 rooms at “the Pier.” We enjoyed it. Loved PCH character breakfast & we could all hang out playing Uno & trying a few brews after park cruising. We are looking at the Anaheim Magic Garden for my granddaughter’s birthday. Have you tried it? The gardens & koi pool look similar to the old Disneyland Hotel.

The problem with the Paradise Pier Hotel is it's alway's been treated as the poor relation of the DisneyLand hotel's. It needs a good overhaul and brought into the " family." It could be something really special. Katie you have my permission to eat as much ice cream as you want. Cheers, Chris Perry.

Booked a 4 day stay at Stovall’s Inn on Katella for only $114/night in January! This will be my first time back to Disneyland in 30 years. After reading great reviews, learning that a nice buffet breakfast is included and knowing it’s in walking distance to the DTD entrance, it was a no brainer. It’s a quick trip with a good friend and I couldn’t justify paying the resort hotel prices when we’ll barely be in our room. I can’t believe PP Hotel has no food service available. That’s just crazy for Disney resort! They need to open one of those restaurants!Really enjoyed the editing in this video.

I feel like Paradise Pier Hotel needs a MAJOR upgrade but maybe with the announcement of the expansions they're waiting to retheme it. That is definitely the saddest Pool and Spa I've ever seen at a hotel. There's absolutely NO reason why there can't be more shade and loungers. I hope this was like $100 a night even after taxes and fees bc its not worth anything more than that. Thanks for showing us around this sad sad Hotel.

Spence, you might remember, I used to work at an ice cream parlor called "Swenson's Ice Cream" back in the mid 80s. I was the "Soda Jerk" at the one in Ventura and we'd have sundaes named after SF landmarks like the Coit Tower, etc. We made all our own ice cream on site and had a train running around the dining area above the doors and windows.

My boys and I love watching all your videos. You two are the sweetest. In regards to the hotel key to go through the gate, YES your Paradise Pier Hotel key works to get you through the gate at The California Grand Hotel. There was usually always a worker at the gate and you had to show your key and hold it up to the key pad. There were people behind us who tried to get through and they were not allowed. Thank you for making our Disneyland trip amazing.

We stayed on the 13th floor a few years back and it was awesome! There's a cool view of CA Park through some viewing windows up there and the balcony at night watching fireworks was a one in a million view as it faces DL Park! So sad nothing is open there and it does look dated and no longer matches the themeing. It needs a makeover! Disneyland Hotel is always our first choice and feels the most magical to us. With all of the memorabilia it holds you can't help but feel the spirit of Walt Disney in those halls. 😌💕

We used to enter the parks by going through the Grand Californian entrance, however during our last stay in December of 2019 we were stopped at that gate and were told to enter through the Downtown Disney gates near the Disneyland Hotel because of security reasons! The only people that were allowed were of course those staying at the Grand Californian!

And I’m a Mexican who can handle her heat. It was pushing all the hours that we normal don’t do as AP holders. Paradise pier was called pan pacific before disney bought it out in 1994 I used to stay there a lot if I didn’t stay at DL
Hotel. I actually stayed on the 13th floor I usually do there are only a few hotel that have a 13th floor in the world harrahs in south shore Lake Tahoe being one of them. I actually liked the lobby better when it was pan pacific it had a tropical 🌴 feel and a koi pond stream going threw it-and water fall kind of. You could walk from there to the monorail and the old marina at DL
Hotel and the old trader Sam’s bar which I think was called ship wreck used to go there all the time! Btw the decor in the rooms is the same almost as in the late 80-90s still has the same hutch the tv is in and save and Frig that has never been updated probably just refinished.

They have big speakers outside our room window that played the hotel music all night. When I asked the front desk to turn it down, they did nothing about it. I slept about three hours that first night which was upsetting when having our first day at the park the next morning. Sometimes some of these staycation hotel reviews you see for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World leave me a bit “meh” but this one has the right feels. I can see that it would be ideal for a rebrand as the Pixar Pier Resort because that would be cool with Pixar character rooms etc. Enjoy your stay 👍.

Love this!! I can use this information when I return to work. Not too many vloggers like focusing on PPH. It’s interesting that they kept the 13th floor when Disney bought the property. Fun fact: In Japan and China, it’s the 4th floor they skip when numbering floors. They skip that floor because the word for ‘four’ sounds similar to the word ‘death’. Love the billboards at the pool. No zero entry? … that’s interesting. And it looked like the slide didn’t splashdown into the pool? Kinda looked like a Disney Cruise Line water slide. Curious to know if it’s possible to see any part of World of Color from the PPH?
Did you guys check out the new scene in Mickey’s Philharmagic? East Coast has to wait until October to see it. Hmm, I wonder if the menu at DCA for Ghirardelli is the same as Disney Springs??
