Well this “fight” it isn’t a fight it’s a mercy killing to end the suffering of your older sibling who sacrificed himself for everyone but the love he held for the king queen and kingdom was his downfall he wasn’t truly hollow
i can feel it, this fight was really... sad. as the phases goes i was understanding more and more about the "lore" and... the fight itself is sad xD, i love this theme but it makes me feel horrible for ending a sibling's "despair" tho...

Thank you Louis! I didn't like this piece when I first played through Hollow Knight but learning this arrangement and recording the boss fight made me realize just how awesome it actually is. It takes you through a tragic journey that the other boss themes don't really do. It's amazing.
OK, to me they were two parts to this music, the completely epic, oh my gosh I cannot see your fingers move kind of epic! Then there was the lush, almost tender parts where you are slowly and lovingly just stroking the keys. It was almost as if there was a passionate love scene taking place in the middle of an epic battle! I will say this much, even if I didn’t like the piece, and I absolutely loved it, I would have still been totally moved by how well you played this piece and how fast your fingers were moving!! Well done my friend

I recently got the hollow knight piano collections book and can play dirtmouth and can play bits of others like city of tears, hollow knight crossroads etc. I’m trying to attempt this and I can play the fist page out of 6, have you got any tips for the remainder of the fast section 😂😭

Sealed Vessel specifically? I think for an intermediate level it's very well possible. The hardest part is the 16th notes and the 3 against 4 section. The rest of it is very manageable.
I'm learning to play this piece as well, but the nonuplet in the 38th measure is giving me a lot of trouble and is pretty much the only part stopping me from playing the whole piece without mistakes consistently. Do you perhaps have any tips for that part?
@@iLikePiano yeah I've tried a couple of different ways to play it, but I always seem to get in the way of myself or just trip over the keys. Maybe it's just a skill issue or there might be a different way to play it that I hadn't thought of yet
When notes are written in boxes like that with no indicated note value, it means it's kind of improvisational. Play the notes in order they are written with whatever note value you want to play them (quarter notes, 8th notes, 16ths or whatever) and repeat it as you wish. The tremolo in measure 94 needs to continue also while you play the notes in the box. You can think of the higher notes in the box as just bouncing off the notes in the tremolo. Hope this makes sense :)

personally would've loved it even more if the different sections of the song lined up with the phase changes in the gameplay. amazing piano playing nonetheless!! I've always loved how epic yet somber this song feels
That would have definitely been pretty cool if I managed line up the footage with the music. It is a sad piece of music yet somehow cool and epic at the same time :)
