Sonata Arctica - The Cage: keyboard intro solo cover (practice video)

- This is the most difficult solo I've ever played. The shred in the end of the solo has sixteenth note septoles at tempo 165 which is very, very fast.
I haven't seen a single video on RUclips where the player plays this solo correctly, so anyone claiming this is "easy" should check what they are playing. Most people are missing some bends or ornaments, and the end shred is usually just some fast notes from the same scale as the original.
I'm still working on this solo, but this is a practice video demonstrating the solo at different tempos. The playing is a bit sloppy because I was very tired after a long practice. Stay tuned for the "real" solo video that I will be uploading once I've mastered this solo.
This is the BEST intro to a song ever!!! A Jens Johansson keyboard solo!! Thanks for the tutorial man! And great playing!!! Really!! \m/
I am (trying) to learn this at the moment... It IS difficult. Anyone claiming it's nog should post their version! It is exactly as you describe; you'll eventually miss some bends/vibrato. If I am honest, I don't think I've seen the keyboardist of SA ever do an exact copy, but more an 'interpretation'. And just maybe they should... But I for sure won't rest before my fingers can exactly make this work! Good to see you managed to play it completely with one hand!
Dude that was just awesome! I'm not a keyboard player but I know that song very well and I think I can say that you're very talented.
Very, very impressive! Well done on not hurting yourself. Great effort to cover what has to be my favourite keyboard solo :)
Its good bro.i listened after increasing the play speed of the video and sounds great..keep it up bro. Cheers!
Good job man! ;)
Incredible, good job!
Hey! Great job! What book are you playing out of??
Did you ever master this solo? The 100% speed wasn't far off !
Also that run in the middle with the D bass note, did you set the keyboard patch to monophonic so you could leave hand on the D and play the upper notes? I used to do that for ease but I guess it's cheating :-P
Well done anyway
Not sure what the frowny face was for on the 100%, but that was AMAZING! I didn't hear any off notes.
you played it better than Henrik!!!
It's not Henrik's solo, but Jens'

Could you turn the video upside-down ;-) ? I suppose you don't have notes for that
Damn that looks hard. Great job, though. I couldn't actually hear many mistakes in the 100% version
