I didn’t think this podcast would interest me. I was wrong. Such a strong ,moving story. It took a while to get the lump out of my throat. We forget the real stories of the victims of the Nazis. Climbing his fathers back to turn off the light ,and his father finally realising Arnold was his son caught me off guard. It was an honour to listen to this interview.

Arnold's parents went from Auschwitz to other camps. As Arnold describes in this episode, his father was on a Death March from Auschwitz to another camp. The full details are more complicated, so we didn't get into it here.

It's a particularly resonant story for me because my great uncle Chaim escaped from Auschwitz as a teenager and helped to create a Kibbutz in the north of Israel after WWII.
