And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere...
Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves one from the other. Genesis 13:10-11
And the LORD said unto Abram, after Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever. Genesis 13:14-15
Lesson from the life of our father Abraham:
People of faith don’t lift up their eyes to look and choose for themselves like Lot did. Instead, people of faith lift up their eyes to look and move by faith, following the leading and instruction of the LORD, just as our father Abraham did.
