  • How to set your CHISEL.
    TIPS:
    1) 2 to 3 fast spins
    2) Too shallow = tiny cracks
    3) Too deep = no compression
    4) Perfect = 2 to 3mm of tamping compression

@@pullmanespresso Are they any reasons that Pullman chisel and hand press tools are not easily found in the US? There are lots of non-present Pullman tampers here, but not hand-press ones. Same for the chisel, there are not as many color choices in the US compared to Australia.

@@sciencescience9102 I hear you! The colours available are just what the resellers choose to stock. We have 2 or 3 stockists in the US who generally carry either colour or timber. Make a special request and they could add it to their next shipment

i got a chisel just a couple of days ago and used it for the first time at work today and it was nothing short of amazing. the quality of every shot instantly improved. the shots extracted beautifully and consistently, the consistent puck made dialling in and adjusting the grinder soooo easy, ill definitely be recommending the chisel pullman from now on, i didnt think i would need one at first but after using it, i cant see myself without one now, thank you!

Thank you! Very clear explanation. With every new coffee, this tool needs calibration, it seems.

Hi, Thank you for your comment. Each new coffee will have slight differences in density due to different roasting profiles. We always dial in every new coffee with our grinder and don't generally have to change the chisel depth too much but we always check and taste.

I rewatched the video and still enjoyed it! I found a Pullman seller in Canada (idirnkcoffee) and am getting ready to order a chisel! Just wondering whether it will fit in the VST baskets and the baskets that come with Rancilio Silvia Pro X? Both are 58 mm. Thank you!

Why is the CHISEL better then the Ona coffee one?? at the end of they day, ona coffee started the distribution tools so everyone elses are copies of them just branded diffrently

Hi Sun55, thank you for you comment. Everyone has a preference and loyalty to brands and as with all inventions, creatives will always try to reimagine and strive for improvements. The Pullman Chisel has many different features to the OCD with a vastly different blade configuration, grip, left and right spin, custom finish on the steel and more. Hundreds of hours of testing and investment is made in any new product and it's up to the purchaser to determine whether they will reward that process.

Man, nice explanation and all, but why wasting all that coffee???
    Couldn’t you just redistribute it??

Hi Max, we grind the coffee again to keep the integrity of the demonstration intact. We always have a plentiful supply of coffee :)

@@pullmanespresso Yeah watching you throw the coffee away hurts, but I know in my heart it is the right thing to do, especially in a commercial setting.
