    I do not agree with this workflows. Modeling should always be used instead of 2D Drafting. The time it takes you to create the model pays off when it comes to documentation. It's the reason why in BIM Workflows, Schematic and Detailed Design takes considerable amount of time getting things right.
    If you go the 2D route, you'll find that you actually never saved anytime cause for every view you'll have to replicate whatever you did in another view all afresh.

      Christopher Ibegbulem Totally agree, modeling does take time but it will help save A LOT of more time in the long run.

    I don't agree with this approach. I think that if there needs to be a coping in real life (meaning when the building gets built) then a 3d extrusion that represents the coping has to be modelled and therefore shown in every view.

    Hey pal, I want to congratulate you, this is one of my favorite channels on youtube, the way you transcend the mere use of the software to give it an applicable purpose thru a design process... Greetings from Colombia.

    Wpuld be handy to see email for parametric Cw screen mullion transom family based on two glass thickness and various box sizes
    There is nothing like that in internet as far as for now
    What’s most important would be handy to see how to attach 2d profile drawings for plan drawings
    😉

    Why not just model the cap as the sweep profile, skipping the void and optimizing workflow.

    I'm a Revit user and I'm learning Archicad... Doing that is that easy as drawing regions with materials in 2D and extrude it as a wall.... One step, this is way I'm moving out of Autodesk products.
    On the other hand, your channel is great and one of the best for Revit in RUclips....why Autodesk don't copy those features from ArchiCAD? We need to think more in design rather than tricks that takes time.
    In many firms they don't model a lot stuff because one need to have skills to do it... They draw a los 2D.

    In Australia we have built in robes that are framed out, plastered and with double doors or sliding hollow core timber doors on them, generally 510mm by at least 1600mm

    Bonjour! I just began to get Revit and imediatly went to youtube searching for tutorials. I found a lot and my head was spinning between simple and complex ones. The majority not really effective. And, bing!, I found yours.Fantastic work. All is there, clearly explained, from simple to very advanced. Thanks.

    This is a structural question.
    I am trying to place rebars in a curved slab edge at a 150mm spacing along the cross section. Problem is ,free form tool only gives me a straight bar and i cannot edit it to desired shape. The other option is to use Radial Array tool but bars are not treated as a set and therefore hard to edit them as a group. Please help,anyone.

    Depends on the LOD 😅

    • @AussieBIMGuru
      @AussieBIMGuru 4 года назад +1

      That it does! Although most LOD allows for supplementary 2D data.

    • @klementkr1986
      @klementkr1986 4 года назад

      Often make caseworks (kitchen, medicine rooms etc) in LOD 325 right from the start. When you got a lot of users that need to approve your designs it helps to show 3D.

    The detailing is very useful if I need to draw a plan or work specifications, modeling on the other side lets you use Revit as a database - so the client and producer knows the price, volumes, materials (info on the metal sheeting for the wall in the first part of the video)
