Jared Goff is a QB that responds after a bad game and in my mind, he succeeds every time. That’s the QB that I want on my team.
Goff started great and made some great throws to seal that game and his run to finish it off.
Goff (5.3 40) got it done!!!
Goff has been one of the winningest QB's since he entered the league. Lions are lucky to have him.
It doesn't mean he hasnt played terrible so far this year.

When the lions needed Jared Goff to win the game against the rams to break the Lions playoff drought he pulled through iced the game by hitting Amon ra st brown for the first down. In this game against the cardinals when the Lions needed Goff to ice the game . He did it connecting to Amon ra st brown . Then on 2nd and 8 Goff escaped a collapsing pocket and scrambled 8+ yards to get the first down and end the game . This game was ugly from an offensive standpoint especially in the second half . But when Goff needed to put the big boy pants on and win the game he pulled through in a manner we didn’t expect.with his legs
He didn't come through last week.
He couldn't do that versus the Bucs though.

Goff was complete trash in game 2 and has been ok in the other games. If he maintains this same level of play all season we will be lucky to make the playoffs. Bringing up stupid stats from previous years is meaningless. It's based on what we have seen so far this year.

The issue was pretty simple yesterday. The oline and rbs messed up how many 3rd and 1 , 4th and an inch all second half? Too many. Goff bailed out the offense

If we are not homers we should be able to accept that Stafford is a better QB and that's ok. Beacause the Detroit Lions overall are one of the best teams in the NFL
I don’t know all about the stats and comparisons but I know I’ve seen Goff have 3 straight bad games and this last game his coaches were terrified to let him pass at the end of this game.
Goff just needs to manage the game and not have big mistakes. He's not a top tier QB but still good.
These are the same people that wanted us to draft Malik Willis number 2 overall over Hutch, and I'm a fan of Malik Willis. I wish WE would've traded a 6th for him instead of the Packers

Aaron Donald is 100% the reason they won a superbowl. Guess what the rams also traded for Jalen Ramsey and Von Miller. They signed Andrew Whitworth and Robert Woods. They quote "Went all in". Matthew Stafford is a serviceable quarterback.

The addition of #17 is what Goff needed,Patrick can bail him out when he is flushed off platform ,the reason is simular to Madden,he on the run can lob a pass to Patrick ,without him Goff will either be sacked or run out the sideline,Goff is never trying to get a 1st down running he usually running for his life,AMRSB,LaPortaor Williams cant help him only Patrick as he is in the direction where Goff is running ,when they start to gel I dont think we will be stopped

Alot of people make it seem like most other QBs dont have offensive weapons or great protection. Goff is a great QB and accomplished more then most QBs... example has been to a Superbowl and has more playoff wins than Dak Prescott who was drafted same year as Goff and gets paid more lol

When Goff has a clean pocket he's elite. He can't escape the pocket to save his life. He did have that nice 1st down run to seal the game tho. Idk sometimes I really like Goff and other times I get so upset by him. I swear when the Lions play my blood pressure is thru the roof. I hope it's just a slow start to our offense. Our running game is killing it. Besides Jamo, St. brown, and Laporta we don't really have anyone getting involved in the pass game. Reynolds leaving really hurt us and I was expecting to draft a WR at some point to kinda take over that roll. WR is thin for us. I hope Khalif or Patrick get more involved in the pass game. If Goff keeps going at the pace he's going thru these 3 games he's gonna have well over 20 INTs by the end of the season. He's got 4 thru 3 weeks. Not too good. Those kind of turnovers aren't gonna get us in the post season. Gotta smartin up.
I like using game 13 as the goff turn over starting point. Because he is in top 10 turnovers so far for 2024 with 4 and that is excluding the 3 or 4 the defender flat out dropped. It really should be like 8 or 9. Goff DOES turn the ball over a lot but mahomes also has 4 so ill let it slide.
2014 roster Stafford should have pushed pass Dallas and don't give me we got screwed cause we did but he couldn't get the ship right

Goff is the weakest link. Why won't people get it through their heads. It's fun seeing these talking heads acting like they are knowledgeable. Goff is so overrated. He can only play one half. Every time you watch him, he only plays one good half. Once a team adjusts, he looks horrific. Its sad. He never plays a full game well. He is by far the weakest link on offense. This isn't sustainable. This is a championship offense. If we can just get rid of him, we have a SB easily. Stop making excuses for the guy. No one is looking for rush yards. We just want him to be consistent for a full game and win a SB. He has been one of the worst QB's in the NFL this year. We could replace him with Darnold and we would win a SB.

The Lions offense seems to disappear in the 2nd half more times than not.
I think the lions should play to there strengths,anything thing other than that 8&9. What makes us dangerous the run game. Every week teams are gone take something away. That being said until teams can take the run away abuse it. Use all backs. Stop neglecting when we are in field goal range take the points how many games have we lost by there or six points

I like Jared Goff but i know he's not a franchise QB even though he was paid like one. He has a noodle arm. No mobility. Can't create or take chances. He's coachable and a team guy. I guess that counts for something. The bottom line is Goff is serviceable if everything around him is perfect. He's a top 15 QB.
You're not wrong, but he can win us a SB, especially if it is against Mahomes.
I’m a Goff fan. He has a great shot at winning the Super Bowl with us… But I’d say he’s at his ceiling. He probably won’t ever improve… Maybe thats what most people are concerned about.

Goff got the Lions as close to a Super Bowl more than any other quarterback in franchise history. He’s a leader and learns from his mistakes. I’m sticking with him.

ill agree goff has proven he can do it, but I still think he is a very mid QB with some obvious glaring flaws like total lack of mobility and lack of a deep ball. Big weaknesses when you face teams with elite QBs. But lions have a great team outside of goff to make up for it aka top O line. But lets not pretend goff is mahomes. He isnt
He also has maybe the best team around him then any QB in lions franchise history...

I don't care about the contract. I really don't. I also don't care much about the production or stats. I watch football. I know football...and what I know is that if you were to give the same offensive line, weapons, and play-caller to 10-15 other NFL QBs, they would be as good as or better than Goff. Argue with a wall or your camera, as you do. Goff is not elite, not top-tier, not him. Fact over feelings.

@@kaninesensesbecause that’s the only target he can hit consistently he can’t throw any other routes he will under throw or over throw anything over a 20 yard across the middle route. And now that you see other teams prepping for that he gets flustered and throw check downs all day. Thank god for our oline and Montgomery
