Just wanted to pop in here and leave a comment to say thanks for posting this video. I'm down in Jamaica and I brought my Nikonos V with me, and I needed a bit of a refresher on usage of the thing since it's been a few years since I've shot with it. It's been quite some time since greasing the o-rings (and I didn't bring the grease with me), so fingers crossed that they hold up from the last time I did it. Cheers.

Great video… I picked one up at the start of the year. I haven’t used it as much as I wanted thanks to covid restrictions, but that will change. I got a 20mm wide angle… trick to avoid backscatter is to get as close as possible. I reckon the 35mm is going to be more useful in tropical clear waters. Also… I use a bungee leash to clip the camera to my BCD. Then I can let it go if I have to.

It's really a shame that it only goes to 1600 iso, as there is plenty of 3200 film out there, and light is often really sparse when scuba diving. I wonder if it can be modded to always meter for one stop less light :/

Firstly I forgot to say this on your last video but that is some mighty fine sexual material you’ve got on your head there man. Also after this video I want. Seems like a needy little thing but those images are so clean for underwater man 👏 I remember Scubaing with many absolute potatos with lenses in my day. So jealous of this experience as well man - damn scuba in the aquarium. Legendary stuff 🙌

Ahaha I'm glad you dig the material man! My new favorite hat for sure! Le ole Nikonos is indeed a needy little thing but it makes up for it with the images it can provide for sure, would be curious to try out one of the potatoes you experienced ahah! The aquarium scuba was indeed lovely, that kelp tank is actually smaller than I expected when you get inside but figured it'd be rad for the scenic vibes!
