The intention of this video is to not dwell on whoever reported me- therefore any negative comment on the matter was deleted. We are manifesting POSITIVE energy here & the event happened so long ago that I've moved past it❤️✨
YES!! Being in the 20s is full of opportunities and we learn so much about ourselves when we try and work in different areas. Our generation is finally figuring out that we don't have to stay and stick to one job and retire at 55+. To me thinking about staying in one job for a long long time kind of scares me. I feel like we are born to do different things and experience different things. Thank you for sharing!
I'm 25 and have parents/relatives who are all part of the generation who've not only had one career their whole lives yet have worked at the same job their entire career! It's hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that I would leave a job after only a few years if I was comfortable but that seems like what our generation places more value in.
Ahhh Carter!! So excited for and proud of you, this is definitely the right move for where you're at and I'm sure the flexibility of working part time will really help balance everything you're working on! Congratulations! ❤️
Jobs are definitely not built anymore to be stayed in over a career! I totally agree, 20s are all about trying new things and the worst thing you can do IMO is jump into the first thing that comes along and try to stay there or rush into management at that job. Then suddenly it's a decade (or two!) later and they're overqualified for anything else and can't switch to doing something new without taking a big paycut. It's how people easily get stuck in careers they end up hating. Can't believe people reported you, ugh. Happy for you and your new position!
Yay! I’m so happy you are pursuing goals that make you happy and make you feel like you are balancing RUclips, work, and life. Please post more grad school stuff! I don’t see a lot of it on RUclips and would love your perspective. As for ACOTAR, I actually hated fantasy and never thought it was a genre I would like let alone love. This book series got me back into reading after 7 years of not reading books. The plot, the twists, the character development - it’s a really great book series I think you’ll love! Also the books you’ve recommended in the past have been so good I love your book reviews/recommendations!
i know abby asselin had a bunch of grad school content! leandro yomo and liberty miles are also grad students i love to watch! (they are in law) and i do grad school vlogs too! i thought the same thing about grad school not being super available on youtube but i think it’s getting more popular!
Congrats on your new position! Honestly, the best thing I ever did was go part time. It allowed me to pursue my other passions (career-related and personal), and it allowed me more time and energy to care for my physical and mental well being. It shows a lot of maturity and growth to acknowledge when you need to take a step in a different direction.
I'm so excited!!! My time being full time was fun & a learning experience but I was stretching myself WAY too thin. Plus now I can focus on better myself professionally with the time I have!
Congrats on the new job, Carter! You are so inspiring to me because you do not sit back and wait for things to happen for you. You get at it and get them done!! Love it. Can't wait to see what 2022 has in-store for you. :)
So happy you were able to find a position that gives you the best work/life balance and doesn't compromise your financial balance. Sometimes things really do work out for the best!
So exciting! Congratulations :) I actually just increased from 30 hrs a week to 40 hrs a week, plus full time in my last semester of grad school. Love being in similar life situations!
I started reading fantasy not so long ago, and it's not the type of books I just automatically am drawn to ... but ACOTAR is great !! Currently reading the second one, and I love it !
That author has another series that sort of is in the same universe called A Throne of Glass + the novela/prequel called The Assassin’s Blade. Love her work!
Congratulations!!! Also, I love your books segments. You're giving me ideas for new books to read! Also, Jodi Picoult The Storyteller is a wonderful historical fiction with many POVs. I highly recommend it! She's my favourite author and this was the first book I read :)
Nope! I plan on keeping my PRN job in case RUclips ever has a low earning month for me, thats the great thing about PRN jobs you dont have to work them unless you want to☺️
I just started reading just last night! Well I use audiobook because I have a hard time putting down a good book! I can listen while cooking and washing dishes and all that lol && I sleep with my dog in bed as well! They are the best to cuddle!
hey carter!! i think you might enjoy the kind worth killing by peter swanson! there are multiple povs and its a really interesting mystery with a lot of turns!!
I wish I had more tips- in the hospital we have a site of internal job postings & I just checked there! I've never applied to an external job outside of my hospital so I don't think I'm much help😅
I work 4 days a week and LOVE it. I feel like it's a schedule that keeps me from getting overwhelmed and able to enjoy life without it feeling hectic and nonstop.
i literally cannot wrap my head around people trying to contact your employers...what an uncomfortable position they have put you in! Im super jacked for your new season of life and am loving the content!
Hi! Love your channel. Have you ever considered having a library membership? I am also a huge book lover but I try not to spend so much money on books so I borrow them in the library instead.
I do go to the library but our wait times are crazy long for books, like MONTHS! So personally I don't mind spending money on books, it's just what I ENJOY doing, doesn't mean everyone needs to do it! If I have to wait 4 months to borrow a book at the library I'm just going to buy it and support the author ☺️ But the library is a great resource as well! I just find I don't use it that often since wait times for books are so long!
I use the library for all my books! My kobo downloads directly from OPL, not sure if it’s the same for Kindle?. I am currently reading Invisible Girl actually lol! just finished Flight Attendant from the library also and now i NEED to watch the series 👌🏻Some wait times are long but you can find good ones on there while you wait for your holds . I think they’ve been working on making e-copies more accessible which is great! Something to keep in mind for the low spend months 📚
Sadly Kindle is not compatible with OPL and/or Libby so I can't use that resource. Like I said I have a library membership and love going & think it's a great resource for people. I grew up always using the library and dreamt of buying my own books, it makes me happy & so that's what I like doing. I also agree that it's great for low spend months and I obviously don't spend $100 on books every month usually it's more like $10. I think either is a great option :)
Yes! As I'm mentioned I'm a PRN employee there so I can work if I want and then if I don't want to I don't have to so I plan on keeping that job for the forceable future in case things are slow one month with RUclips I can compensate picking up a few shifts!
It takes a very emotionally intelligent person to realize when it’s time to take a step back, so kudos to you! Congrats on the new position and the start to a new adventure! I read Talk Bookish to Me, which you recommended in one of your last vlogs and LOVED it. Keep the recs coming!!
Thank you so much! It wasn't an easy decision but a necessary one! AH I'm so glad, it's one of my fav reads! Make sure you follow me on IG as I post every single book review on my story as I read them!!
I definitely did not enjoy A Court of Thornes and Roses 😬 I used to be a huge Sara J Maas fan but around 2015 her writing style really changed and I find it super cringey now. Anyways, congrats on the new job!! I found your channel recently and really enjoy your content 💕
Every time I sub to a creator that has a job like mine they end up quitting and stop making the kind of content I subbed for 😭😭 maybe this is a sign that my life is just not content/inspo worthy 💔
No one said I was changing my content. I'm still the same person just working 1-2 days less a week, like many "shift work" healthcare individuals. Nothing is changing except for the fact that I will be able to get up MORE content now!
Congratulations! This is very exciting. I am so proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone. I need to work in my comfort zone as well this year.
Don’t you find that McCafe coffee makes you want to projectile vomit in ways you never thought possible? Whenever I drink it I wanna vomit like the morning after a big night out but then again I’m spoilt, I live in Melbourne
Congratulations on your new position! Very happy for you. Don't worry about being relatable. You are intelligent and have a great deal to contribute on your channel. Your working full-time, grad school and vlogging is way too much. There's no way anyone could handle that. Stepping back is understandable. I'm sorry about the LinkedIn fiasco. Very sad. Good luck in your new role.
I know you want to keep it positive but I'm confused what people reported you for? Did you get in trouble for having a RUclips channel where you talk vaguely about work or something? I just don't understand the problem with that.
I like my comments to stay positive since it is my safe space but I CAN'T talk about it & I hope people can respect that. If you're newer around here I used to film in depth work vlogs and work weeks! I can't discuss what happened obviously as it would be unprofessional of me ☺️ But let's just say I can't film work vlogs anymore!
Pausing this video to recommend you DON’T read A Court of Thorns and Roses, the books are unnecessarily long and the author has a tendency to switch up characters’ personalities with no development. The writing is also not great. You can probably find way better fantasy romances out there. Edit: A Court of Thorns And Roses itself is not terrible but the next books in the series? Not great. I feel like this series is only enjoyable if you haven’t read many good books and don’t have anything to compare the series to.
@@CarterSullivan I know a lot of people enjoy the series but it’s really hit or miss depending on what you look for in a book! Personally, I enjoyed the first book the most but I also felt like I could have skipped it and understood the rest of the series perfectly (because the characters were so different all of a sudden).
