Surprisingly great? It’s a BMW, no surprise. People are just to caught up with the “every Series now looks different,” design.
I love my i5 M60! Got it back in November, though I unfortunately didn't have it for 7 weeks after someone skidded into my car on a snowy day. Just got it back, and it was awesome to basically get that new car feel again, especially with a car like this. I didn't drive for those 7 weeks and I had to remember how how powerful this thing is and how great the brakes are, lol

200 miles is not enough for me to switch to a E.V. the battery technology needs to be better. 400 miles is where I will switch
My current ICE bmw is getting close to 400 if i drive normally lol
Most people with an 80-100K EV will have a home where they can charge overnight and not have to deal with the anxiety of public network charging. If I had a home charger I could live with the 250-mile range for 90% of my commutes.
First, most owners are getting 250-280 miles, second, I find it hilarious the goalpost keeps moving from “it needs to have 300 miles or I won’t buy it!”, to “It needs to have 400 miles!”.

Miles nobody cares about any other things you’re saying BMW doesn’t have the other electric cars do have they have an amazing interior amazing technology, amazing performance and a great sticker price compared to Porsche and Audi to get all this stuff. This car is offering in a Porsche Audi or Mercedes. You are at least at 120 K with the EV Credit you can pick up one of these for 85K get with the program.
When you buy an M-16, you get three years of free electrify America, DC fast charging service at any of their stations you can charge your car for 30 minutes. You only need about 14 to charge the car. No one else offers that Tesla makes you pay for it.
Honestly, im picking the tycan over any electric EV right now

I like that BMW. It doesn't look like a boring EV vehicle.
I'm very concerned about the sound system for the money I'm spending on this I5M60. I love a rich sound system with bass. Thanks for your assessment of the system.
There’s nothing wrong with the sound system. It’s just not 4D like the iX, which it shouldn’t. The 5 Series isn’t in the same status category as an iX which starts at 87k.
@@jr1885emmmm.. every 5 series used to have the option of a top grade speaker and now they don’t.
@@sholagan the B&W system that BMW offers now is a bargain compared to the last system. It actually sounds better. The 4D system he mentioned is totally new. It has surround speakers in the headrest and subs in the seats. That was never offered in any other model, but now it’s available in the 7 Series and iX only for now.
This car looks oddly similar to the 2011 Honda Accord Coupe.

Great review! Sadly, the U.S. market does not get the comfort seats, thus the headrests, the front seat leg extenders, and the back seat half-fold are manual instead of power. The U.S. market also doesn't get the Integral Active Steering, 4-wheel steering, and anti-roll stabilizer. We also don't get the Digital 4-Zone Rear Climate Control, M Style Seat belts, and front massage seats. Lastly, it is truly disappointing that BMW decided to get rid of the door sills. I enjoyed the door sills, especially the illuminated ones. Come of BMW, even the Honda Accord has them. In my opinion, the BMW has gone cheap, we get less, but pay a lot more. Cheap plastic door panels, hard dashboards, cheap plastic window switches, and no Matrix LED lights.

I like where BMW is going with their EVs (Neue Klasse looks promising, and iX is a good EV despite being hideous)
But this car is a miss. The styling on the exterior does not look anywhere near the price of the car, it looks like a Honda Accord
And as Miles said the car is not optimized as an EV
And the interior and what they’ve done to iDrive is utterly nonsensical
Well the beauty of BMWs is that in a year this car will be around $60-70K. And for that price I think this is an awesome buy if an EV is what you're looking for.

This would be cool to drive but I'm not ready for half the mileage of the gas counterpart for this price point. I'd compromise with a hybrid though.

Ok it sucks that we are going the EV route, but at least make them loook nice. This shit is uglier then the f90 and please bring back the old doot handles. I hate these kind of handles.
