About Mihawk, he has a better sword skill is still not clear how much it affects his sword duel. I do think Mihawk can make Big Mom and Kaido in extreme diff fight, but again, conqueror haki changes everything. If he has it, then he definitely can use conqueror coating. Add that to his sword skill then he's easily yonko level.

As a swordsman in real life I can tell you that Shanks Is not nerfed by using his right hand as his main. I do agree that he’s nerfed because having two hands is way better than only one, but in swordsmanship the right hand is always more powerful that the left one, even if you are left handed. Maybe for someone like you is hard to understand but I will try to clarify. When you go to a dojo to learn how to wield a katana, or a sword, it doesn’t matter which one is your main hand masters always teach you to use the right one as your main. If you refuse to use the right hand then they will refuse to teach you. It’s been like that for hundreds or thousands of years. In fact, watch real life videos of competitions and exhibitions and you will never see a left handed swordsman. If you are left handed and you learn with your left you can do good but you will never reach your peak. Switching to the right hand may hinder you at first, but once you get used to it you can grow to a higher ceiling that you could not before with your left hand. So learning to use the sword with your right hand is always the best choice, specially in the long run. Why is this like that? I’m not entirely certain, but my master said something like “left and right handed people all have the heart in the left side of the chest and for everybody without exception the left side of the brain (associated with maths and calculations) controls the right part of your body and viceversa, so no matter what you should always use your right hand” So It doesn’t matter if we are left or right handed because our bodies all have the same structure and functions in the same way. And swordsmanship even though is a martial art has a lot of science behind it. No wonder the best swordsmen are also the smartest. Oda being a Japanese knows this for sure, so maybe by forcing Shanks to switch hands he was actually buffing him rather than nerfing him. All I know is that if it were real life Shanks eventually would be way more powerful with his right hand than with his left regardless of what his main hand was.

I dont understand why people think BB will defeat Shanks when Oda just set up Strawhats vs Red Hair Pirates down the line. Plus Buggy and Shanks narratively have to be at Laugh tale together due to their childhood promise and Luffy told Law in Punk Hazard that he wanted to fight Shanks last. Either we are getting a battle royal for the One Piece between the 4 yonko crews or BB is getting taken out before that.
The issue I have with one piece power scaling is that their strengths feel unrewarded. They just get to these ridiculous levels of world breaking strength and the answer to why is "Oh they just saw it and copied it" Why can Zoro life so much weight? "He just can" Goku was amazing because we legitimately saw every step of his growth. How he trained and the new methods he would need in order to overcome any plateau. Luffy? He just met Kaido so now I guess he's Gear 5 now. Shanks losing his arm wasn't even Odas idea and I absolutely hate this glazing of Shonen Mangakas as if they came up with and planned everything. Shanks was meant to be strong but it fundamentally breaks the world building by saying he was always world breaking strong without showing why and especially how. Frieza already blew up multiple planets and we're really going to act like Shanks had any chance? Well given the writing quality of One Piece if Shanks fought Frieza using Odas writing style Shanks would reveal his hidden cyborg reindeer half-human genetics that are being awakened as he does an attack that's coming out of his hidden second sword sheathe. If Shanks was fighting Frieza using Akiras writing style? Frezia would get hurt by Shanks by letting his guard down for under estimating Shanks but then ultimately lose to his overwhelming Strengh.
Zoro’s been lifting since he was a kid, you see him working out after each arc pre timeskip while Luffy and Sanji just randomly get power ups with no training

As a swordsman in real life I can tell you that Shanks Is not nerfed by using his right hand as his main. I do agree that he’s nerfed because having two hands is way better than only one, but in swordsmanship the right hand is always more powerful that the left one, even if you are left handed. Maybe for someone like you is hard to understand but I will try to clarify. When you go to a dojo to learn how to wield a katana, or a sword, it doesn’t matter which one is your main hand masters always teach you to use the right one as your main. If you refuse to use the right hand then they will refuse to teach you. It’s been like that for hundreds or thousands of years. In fact, watch real life videos of competitions and exhibitions and you will never see a left handed swordsman. If you are left handed and you learn with your left you can do good but you will never reach your peak. Switching to the right hand may hinder you at first, but once you get used to it you can grow to a higher ceiling that you could not before with your left hand. So learning to use the sword with your right hand is always the best choice, specially in the long run. Why is this like that? I’m not entirely certain, but my master said something like “left and right handed people all have the heart in the left side of the chest and for everybody without exception the left side of the brain (associated with maths and calculations) controls the right part of your body and viceversa, so no matter what you should always use your right hand” So It doesn’t matter if we are left or right handed because our bodies all have the same structure and functions in the same way. And swordsmanship even though is a martial art has a lot of science behind it. No wonder the best swordsmen are also the smartest. Oda being a Japanese knows this for sure, so maybe by forcing Shanks to switch hands he was actually buffing him rather than nerfing him. All I know is that if it were real life Shanks eventually would be way more powerful with his right hand than with his left regardless of what his main hand was.

The issue I have with one piece power scaling is that their strengths feel unrewarded. They just get to these ridiculous levels of world breaking strength and the answer to why is "Oh they just saw it and copied it" Why can Zoro life so much weight? "He just can"
Goku was amazing because we legitimately saw every step of his growth. How he trained and the new methods he would need in order to overcome any plateau. Luffy? He just met Kaido so now I guess he's Gear 5 now. Shanks losing his arm wasn't even Odas idea and I absolutely hate this glazing of Shonen Mangakas as if they came up with and planned everything. Shanks was meant to be strong but it fundamentally breaks the world building by saying he was always world breaking strong without showing why and especially how. Frieza already blew up multiple planets and we're really going to act like Shanks had any chance? Well given the writing quality of One Piece if Shanks fought Frieza using Odas writing style Shanks would reveal his hidden cyborg reindeer half-human genetics that are being awakened as he does an attack that's coming out of his hidden second sword sheathe. If Shanks was fighting Frieza using Akiras writing style? Frezia would get hurt by Shanks by letting his guard down for under estimating Shanks but then ultimately lose to his overwhelming Strengh.
Zoro’s been lifting since he was a kid, you see him working out after each arc pre timeskip while Luffy and Sanji just randomly get power ups with no training

It's been said sanji gets his training by keeping luffy out of the fridge aside from his training from zeff, luffy trained till he was 17 plus his family are freaks of nature, luffy also built up g5 since the timeskip genius, he had g4 bounceman and snakeman from the moment he came back from the timeskip you know, those 2 years of training he did. Zoro has also stated they get stronger from island to island even if they don't notice it. You're also glazing goku and I love db, goku literally learns things by just watching things once, that's literally how he learned the Kamehameha first try, 17s strength growth even with his high potential doesnt make much sense, the way toei handled gohan regaining his fighting ability and ultimate form is trash compared to the manga, just say you don't like one piece and leave it at that instead of lying.

There's something to do with the Figurelands just make them unique and Shanks being from that bloodline is no different, you bet Garling is in that ballpark too. There is a reason why Mihawk prefer to dual Shanks amount all others and still waiting for someone (Zoro) to surpass that. So his natural talent is just there, I don't think he is the strongest as I place him even with Mihawk with a few others being higher.
