@@acpjrtbh i watched it before, it was a good interview until halfway through and for some reason everyone decided to just turn into life coaches and spend the rest of the interview talking about "giving out free games" 😅 Like I turned in to listen to Smack telling stories about filming DVD, not motivational speech 😂

I think they got one in the works. If you remember when Surf battled JC when Surf was doing interviews after the faceoffs he had a camera crew following him. I believe that was a part of filming for the documentary. And when they did them battles in in that lil alley I believe it was Saga vs Castro that was a part of it too.

This was almost like a mini Battle Rap “VH1 Behind the Music”… We NEED this to be a series where the heavyweights of the culture get asked these really meaningful and personal questions and be given a chance to tell their side of amazing moments we all remember. I’d love to see ARP, Organik, Lux, Mook, T-Rex, Tay Roc, Clips, Verb, Arsenal, Math Hoffa, Dizaster and I could think of dozens more I’d love to see discuss historic battle rap stories and moments.
It's crazy when he said he was out in the rain trying to get Busta on film for some bars. That's deep because he went from trying to get those big names on film to those big names coming to a Smack event to watch HIM! Crazy how hard work pays off.
Smack created an era and helped other battle rap groups find their peak by giving talented people a shot on stage. He's the goat fr.🔥💯

Thank you for going behind the scenes with the face of battle rap Avo. I'm sure SMACK was relieved to not get asked TMZ questions for once.
I know Organik has done a handful of interviews but I hope this ends up a series where Avo interviews pillars of battlerap from league owners to huge battlers and even people behind the scenes that we may not fully know a lot of.
Finally, a normal conversation instead of compromised media kissing his ass and Smack giving canned answers. Smack said "I'm a cameraman" and to see what a cameraman built over time is quite impressive and inspiring. It's no surprise there isn't a close second to URL, there isn't an entrepreneur willing to dedicate their life to building a hiphop business.
Well in defense of that...avo not asking no messy ass political questions....when u not focused on the negative the interviews feel more comfy and open

Honestly, it's really interesting to see Smack in this way. It's been so easy to hate on the man over the business of URL, you almost forgot Smack is a person.
You never really think about the fact that Smack was right there behind the camera during the ultra classic dvd battles.

Regardless how mfs feel about how URL does business today, Smack deserves his flowers at the end of the day. I still remember the first time I saw the Mook v Jae Millz battle. The homie showed me on RUclips after school. That was the first battle I ever watched… I was a freshman in high school… this shit was damn near 20 years ago. I’ve been in love with the art ever since. Smack and his camera created a whole generation of battle rap fans. Salute to the 🐐

Glad wasnt no hard feelings with Avo and Smack lingering over from that caffeine situation. Avos a good dude ans could have easily ans justifiably still felt a way about what transpired between them. 👏🏿
True, but the situation is more likely that "Ruin Your Day" could not get on Caffeine's list of approved vendors to work with, whereas JB could and ended up becoming URL's head of production even after the Caffeine deal expired. I think I spotted JB in the background at the most recent Riot event in Orlando (where URL is coincidentally building out some kind of facility). I suspect there's a much closer relationship between Bullpen, The Riot, Ruin Your Day, and all these other battle rap companies to URL than the general public realizes...
Avo you should do this type of interview for Beasley too and all the great battle rappers. You on to something with this one. Salute
