You‘ve got to be kidding me… I was hiking there a couple week ago and just kept thinking “Safa should see and ride this, he will love it“ and boom there you are, starting at the exact point where I really thought of you… love from Germany!
❤️
Hahaha that sounds phenomenal buddy. What a lovely coincidence and moment though.
What if you were there and he was going down. That would be scary.
SCARY, SCARY, SCARY...BUT SUPER EXCITING!
I've watched it 3 times and if I was younger than 74 I would ride again. I have watery eyes telling you "THANK YOU FOR THE RIDE"!!!
The audio in every episode always amazes me besides the incredible ride. BTW, I'm glad I found your channel. I always miss riding and this made me take out my Roadie 2010 FUJI ROUBAIX 1.0 back on the road again
The Grosse Scheidegg is one of my favorite climbs here in Switzerland, particularly from the Meiringen side, the side Brian descends here. The road is steep, windy and narrow and the views on the Roselaui glacier incredible. However, descending it frankly sucks (in these kind of conditions it totally sucks), because the road is steep, windy and narrow. It just grinds away your brake pads. At least the upper portions of the road are closed to traffic, except the Postcar buses.
Little anecdote, I rode the Grosse Scheidegg about 2 month ago and there was a group of cyclists from the Netherlands. Half of them pushing the bike uphill, because they had ‘flatland’ gearing.
How I wish I could ride these beautiful roads! Really, the scenery is beautiful, it must be so overwhelming to be there and feel it
Hope we see some videos from Japan soon, we got world champion in the house, congrats Safa!!
Still waiting for a video from San Francisco, huge playground for ascents and descents.
Can u share some routes?
Your skills are incredible. Wet road are so dangerous and you did not fall. It shows your experience and also good luck.
I hope you get a chance to enjoy the scenery passing by you so quickly. Switzerland is so beautiful.
Every chance on the way up!
Wow, that corner at 2:40 that suddenly went wet halfway got your bottom clenched, didn't it? 😂 Mine certainly was and that wasn't the last time. I'm surprised you found the confidence and grip to make those wet turns. Apart from that, this is one of the most beautiful descents I've seen on your channel. Perfect views, cowbells and beautiful blue mountain streams... This video has it all. By the way: I loved the raw audio with wind, it was like riding with you.
Great to see Safa ride my local hills ❤
Although almost half of every Year snow, ice and slush on the roads for practising slippery conditions I’ve never learned to descent on wet.. and standing water on new asphalt.. so scary stuff! Once at the Alps in heavy rain got into water slide.. went between facing cars over the line and ended stopping at the road barrier. Freaking scared hell out of me.. and made an impression that breaks are never trustworthy!
You were fully committed on that small bridge with those two cars.. I bet that drivers were cursing ”crazy cyclist!!”, but that really was only option You to do.. other two possibilities were crashes! Great reactions! 👍
That road is a mountain to ascent.. and tricky to descent! Thank You for sharing this one! 🤩
Your verbal responses to oncoming 1 ton motor vehicles is saint level. I have to confess my involuntary responses are not so anodyne.
Likewise, a (visually) missed stone or pot hole.

Certainly inspiring to view the confidence and form in your ride-esp. seen in footage of “tunnels in the mist” !
Happy Thanksgiving from 🇨🇦
I did this descent last year too, also in damp conditions.
I took it very easy. It was the start of a two week bike tour.
Mad respect for going at that speed on such a wet road. I do a lot of downhills and tend to avoid it when its this wet.
There are old bikers, and there are bold bikers. But there are very few old bold bikers.
My heart skipped a bit whenever he crossed the obstacles :) Sheer Adrenalin :) Awesome video :)
Nice man, reminds me of a ride I did in Austria while on vacation. Super narrow road, super steep climb. Descended in the rain, rotors were sizzling by the time I got down 🙃
That was incredible! Well done indeed.
Pray for speed! 🙏🏼
Beneath the North Face of the Eiger it’s more like a footpath 😊
im rooting for you from Seoul Korea
It was a difficult course, and I was nervous, but you ran through it well, as expected, it's wonderfull 🤩💖✨✨✨✨✨✨👏 too many thanks for awesome video❤
SAFA, no apologies necessary for the audio…it was fine. I was on edge watching the entire run, I hate wet descents…we all do, but you nailed that one for the conditions. My shoulders hiked-up at that cattle guard! 😱
Love you, Safa.
15:04 That's scary!!!
What a great experience I came to your channel! :)

Nice to see you there bud, greetings from cdmx.
Welcome to Switzerland! Yeah, this one is notorious - great scenery etc, but its just way too narrow - its even worse at the weekends.
Now that I am a bit calm after watching this amazing ride...
WHAT TIRES ARE YOU USING THAT ALLOW YOU TO GRIP THE ROAD ON A -11 T0 -14 ON A WET ROAD DOING 15 TO 25 MPH ON A CURVE???
Needs more cowbell, or was that wind chimes. Haha. Beautiful scenery, thank you!!
YOUR DISC BRAKES AFTER DROPING THE SLOPE :
🥵🥵
I love this view with the handlebar the best.
For a moment I thought I heard a gunfight going on next to the road, and then I realized it was the sound of the wind blowing through the microphone.😅
That freehub🎧
Yikes. You couldn't pay me enough. More power to you
awesome stuff
Got scared watching 😅
Now that freehub will surely keep you pedaling
Damm good brakes
I would really like to know which software is used here to track the path and show all all the stats live or recorded and also the elvation profile?
Went up this climb and down on the other side, I think that's the best way to do the Scheidegg.
SAFA SAVE US!
BOOM
DT Swiss 54T Ratchet?
Gotta ask: what tires are you using? And often do you change them out?
The car coming up the hill on the wrong side of the road....I literally yelled "NO".
my guy be bending at 40kmph...our roads are so bad, mainly the sudden sand in middle of good road, if you do that, you're pretty much done.....bu this is awesome.
Those wet turns are making me nervous, haha. I broke my wrist on one a few years ago. Still haven't gotten over the fear.
So beautiful
Wet cowshit is deadly LOL. I prefer to climb this road and take the descent to Grindelwald. Must have been cold. Usually a summer ride. Do it on a weekend when the upper part of the road is closed to traffic. But great riding anyway. Stay safe and have fun in Switzerland!
good skill underater did you climb it to know the road? and which tires do you ride? thumb up
what a nature
overdrive in the house
I felt that one 😬
Did you research (recon) the road a couple of times, or was this a first-time attempt?
I am so impressed by the beauty and skills of this ride!
Only a suicidal man would descend this fast without having done a recon ride beforehand
May i ask what camera you are using?
I ride a TT bike with 23mm tires and wet is the only time I get on the brakes descending... but even if this was dry I'm pretty sure I'd be a little concerned LOL.
Hello Safa you were using Stuntman chest mount+Gopro7 in this video right ? I really like this scene😮But most of the people are not showing like this😢
The camera really seems like on the Jaw😂
another cycling ASMR
Did you know the road was going to be wet? If you had known, would you have installed mudguards and different tyres?
Oh you descended the other side of the Grosse! the other side that goes to Grindelwald is very technical and the terrain is not that great in some sections. one of my favorite climbs in the canton of Bern
I climbed up that side. The views are better for sure. Will have to come back and ride the loop in reverse.
This is slippery road

hi, what camera do you use for taking pictures?
cool downhill 😂
He Safa Brian what type of wheels hubs you ride on?
О ,в Швейцарии! Надеюсь местные угостили тебя,своим любимым блюдом- жареной кошкой!😀
Ciao Safa, do you use the Hyperview option on the gopro or the regular one for these on boards?
NICE. Wet made it bit more challenging, but f* it. It is, how it is!
:-)
SAFA: Will Scott/Syncros hook you up with the new Capital SL wheels? Or are you running them now?
I'm on them now. This was shot a year ago.
@@SAFABrian My absolute DREAM wheelset. Saving up for them~
Loud freehub, Hunt wheels?
Beautiful !
I did it too😍😍💥💥❤❤!!
Zoom and boom
What if your brakes fail
Holy Nope!
*insanely amazing video as always SAFA, what the fuck were those "wires"!!!*
*me* "alright youre doin good savin money and being chill"
*also me* : *watches video* ..... *holy fuck what a G.....*
*places 50 dollar order on stickers*
Wow. Brings back fond memories of when I climbed that same route many years ago at one-tenth the speed (at most). I descended on the other side to Grindelwald; did you get a chance to try that too?
The Demon descender strikes again 👌🏻
I don't know much about shifting on modern roadbikes, but how are you doing it? I notice you aren't pushing the brake levers sideways. Are you using some sort of electronic shifter? I noticed earlier in the video you have buttons under the hoods. What about when you're in the drops?
There are buttons on the side of the brake levers. Instead of pushing the lever in, you just tap the buttons :)

Cheers, Leet Peet!
ASMR for roadies
Try turning the road uphill.
what you use for power data to overlay video? garmin virb or what?
Did you find out?
Если бы не горы и не перепады высот, то я бы сказал, что дело происходит в британской глубинке🤔
Love the video, but beware of the marmots in the Alps
Dayı hub'ın markası nedir?
Do you use Virb for data overlay?
@@율-t3b No
AMAZING!
CONGRATULATIONS!
EXCUSE ME WHICH APP OR SOFTWARE DID YOU USE TO INSERT YOUR SPEED AND TRACK ON THIS VIDEO ?
GREETINGS FROM BOLIVIA !
how to get this stats on left side ?
That pesky bee, that has been buzzing all the way down (except when you were pedaling) made it almost impossible to understand what you were saying. Perhaps consider adding some subtitles next time? I saw a video where the subtitles were not covering the spoken words, but rather described what the rider thought.
Average speed?
"very cautious in the wet" then proceeds to go 50kph in a corner and 30kph in a hairpin 😳
That's what I was thinking, for me what he's doing here is bombing down this thing. In the wet like this I would be going at probably half his speed.
Those wet s-curves at 25 mph, so cringe worthy! Just as scary as you riding at 60 mph in traffic!
Sketch...
Не очень
@3:21 💩
Too much freehub noise.... More pedalling needed 🤭
