But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.”
Bailey Sarian did an exccellent video on Giulia Tofana. She's one of the few serial killers in history you can kinda empathize with, especially as a woman. She wasn't helping people kill a ton of men because she got off on it, she was trying to rescue her fellow women stuck in what was usually incredibly absuive relationships. Something she knew about first hand. She was probably a hero to many women who won their freedoms (at least for a while) because of her. She obviously made a huge amount of money, but she likely saved as many lives as she vicariously claimed, so it's hard to outright dismss her as a monster like you would Bundy or Gacy. I know she's classified as a serial killer, but at the same time it doesn't seem like she got her rocks off on it so much as she wanted to help women and make money at the same time. I'm not condoning all the times she's murdered people by any means, but we've all seen or heard of cases where it seems like the only way someone so evil will stop is if they are stopped....so enter Gilulia Tofana. If women were allowed to leave their husbands then Giulia Tofana probably would have an entirely different (and less deadly) side hustle.
@@iDvnKTV yes with murder! If someone steals you and sells you into sexual slacery for your biological father benefit, you are infact allowed to defend yourself, until your assailant escalates the issue till it results in their death.
Being a domestic violence survivor, I can understand how women thought Aqua Tofana was the only way to survive. Italian women in that time didn't have any rights. I call it self-defense.
Having grown up around an abusive NPD/BPD mother who would routinely fabricate reasons to hate me, her own mother, and damn near anyone who spent time near her, this story is terrifying.
