This jeweler admitted that diamonds are basically worthless. You get your money back from reselling plain gold. This jeweler is pretty cool.
Bet you I get more money back percentage wise selling my diamond...than you would selling your car. Diamond value does not depreciate like a car or mostly anything else for that matter. Only thing that has better resale value than a diamond percent wise? A house depending on the sale. Most stainless steel Rolexes, Patek Phillipe Nautilus, and some Audemars Piguet Models. A diamond has no "wear and tear," "highway miles," "older model each year" etc... A D Color diamond 20 years from now is still going to be a D Color diamond. And, the D color price will still be there. Your car 20 years from now isn't going to be worth anything, but maybe a few grand, if that. You won't necessarily get your money back selling pure gold. What you going to do when the dollar keeps getting stronger, and you just loss money selling gold? You prolly already know that though, since you're a diamond expert.

Exactly, of course some do buy jewellery as an investment however people always look down on people who make decisions to "bust down" or get their timepieces "iced out". Do I do it? Depends on the Si1 or si2 could have black. If you’re going for a centerstone check that it doesn’t have a black and you’re good. VS2 even sometimes has a bit of black on the table. You’ll notice it less on smaller Diamonds obviously. If you can find an si1 or si2 with no black on the center it’s worth a buy. I J K and sometimes L colors with a medium blue flourescence also can face up pretty white if it’s a round brilliant and has a nice make. Also ridiculously less price than D-H colors.
