I feel like it's a cross between Love Yourself the theme, and Map of the Soul, the Anima part. Like he wasn't happy with the reality because he doesn't feel like the right person in those places until he "found himself" in the woman (the Anima part) and that lets him enjoy all the other possibilities in life. Like those rooms are possible branches of life and he is now confident in his identity and content to go out and find his path where he is the right person in the right place. That's my take on it, anyway.

Its like live in a life that the society wants you to be like that and that but you want your life to be like and it makes want to escape the place that you been stuck in cause you’re not right for that place 💜 he always makes art for army to learn from it 💜💪

The cut on Namjoon's eye was an accident on set, luckily on the first take of the first scene they shot, so it didn't effect continuity... but yeah, he hit his face on a camera and had to get 5 stitches. I'm loving all the interpretations. I'm interested to see if his follow-up MVs are connected or separate.

I think he's found that part of him that was missing, she is that part of him, and now he made peace with all his regrets, now he can enjoy himself and now he can move on, that door means him moving on

Doors have always had a lot of symbolism. The door with the three different colored circles could mean past, present and future. Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, ying and yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness.

The 7 Openings (with different colors at the close) Surrounding The Door look like a Key. The 7 motif is continued throughout the MV.
The Paired Clothing is made from the same material as the Korean Buddhist Monks, the Jangsam 🪷
The MV is evoking *Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind* and David Bowie's MV for *Thursday's Child* - the fear of **Making The Wrong Choice**, only to find You're Exactly where you're mean to be 💜

@@anitralarae_mahjacat Ooh nice. Yes, Eternal Sunshine! And David Bowie's Thursday Child!
Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue (I have to go back and see) and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library.

He doesn't want to follow what society expects from him to be or do. The last girl represents his inner true voice and helps him getting out of all those normal life sceneries and live his life the way he wants to.

The only thing I am sure of, is that you cannot put Kim MF Namjoon in a box😘 I think it seems he's coming to terms with living as HE wants, unapologetically, and as AJJ on WhatchaGot2Say opined, perhaps, Living in the Moment? This stuck with me, because I was thinking that it seemed like he was saying Yes! to more situations, like hanging out, drinking and smoking with friends, where previously, he ran away from those situations.
Come on! I can't be the only ARMY rooting for Rebel Bangtan after they're discharged 🥰 Thanks, Landon! Loved your take on our Joonie's masterpiece💜
Edit: it was Blaze not AJJ, the first time I had it on I was just listening.

I think maybe... each of the characters might represent a group of people in Namjoon's life. The beginning is his peers, basically his friends or casual relationships. He feels out of place among them, isn't comfortable joining in their "illicit" activities like smoking, drinking, or public displays of affection (he has an image to maintain after all).
The wife and child, I think... might be his fans. They are people who love him, and he loves them back, but there is a certain set of expectations and obligations there that trap him, and he feels uncomfortable and caged.
The next girl represents his haters or detractors. They attack him relentlessly, and nothing he says convinces them to stop, so he flees.
The parents might represent his actual familial or authority relationships, like people he admires. maybe he feels like he disappoints them by not acting how a "good son" should.
and I think the last girl is himself somehow, whether it be his anima, or just some part of himself he needs to accept. At first, we see young child namjoon hiding from her behind the plant. As he ages, she continues to search for him, and he continues to evade, until one day he faces her. By accepting her (himself), he is finally able to relate better with all the people he felt so alienated from before. And together they are finally able to leave the house where he has been trapped, to navigate the maze outside.
I'm sure there's a lot more to it, and maybe I'm way off... but that's how I see it until I hear a more coherent theory 😂

Namjoon best artist of all k-pop industry, he is a unique artist. He did not make songs following trends only for money and views, he creates art. Theory: This song is about choices, hence the name "right place, wrong person", is like situations and destinations that we changed when making a wrong decision, every door was not made to open, unless it is with the right person in Right place and in the right time. Absolutely amazing cinematography. He has shown himself through his musical taste and described in the best way possible, because he is not running away from responsibilities will not take you anywhere, in the second that you take responsibility for your actions, life starts to get easier and doing sense. Kim Namjoon is the best Leader ..... Best Singer .... Best Artist ..... Best Best Best. That's why I love him.

For me Namjoon has explored the themes of heartbreak, relationship breakdowns, family expectations, and the craving for authenticity, all im this one video, we see him sitting in a party, unfulfilled, then revisiting his past relationship, and past marriage, all failed. He does a look back at his childhood and the innocence lost, and then he gets a chance to start again, with a new person. He then goes on a journey of when he was happy, taking this forward she invites him to go on a new journey with her, and he goes with her leaving the fake world, and the world of disappointments behind. I LOVED the song. Namjoon is definitely coming into his own -can’t wait for the album 🇬🇧💜🇯🇲🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Perhaps the interpretation is sometimes we lost ourselves and arguing with ourselves, but only OURSELVES who we seek for to solve our intern problems in our life.

I’m seeing it as there are so many futures and timelines you could have and you reminisce on which ones the best for you, even thinking about the past and thinking ‘was that good enough/ the best of times?’. In order to escape this exhausting pattern of ruminating, you have to simply accept who you are, wherever you are, right now. That’s the only way to escape and go through the door. The lyrics say “You don’t have to be anything you see, you don’t have to be that something in the sea”, and that’s what really made me think that this song is about acceptance. Although I don’t know exactly how to tie in the sea part, he’s saying you don’t have to be what others expect or even what you superficially expect. Just come back to me, to first base, to home.

Maybe... RM "wondering in the maze of life", which door we walk through and what remains behind closed doors? Be happy what you want to do, run away from boxes where others put you... This is real song what we can really listen, a movie to watch and thoughts to talk about after💜. To me this has nothing to do with "k-pop-idol-industry"😅
