Meet the Delaware County man who brings his cockatoo to Wawa almost every day

- A Delaware County man is attracting attention because of the feathered companion he brings with him to the convenience store.
Retired butcher Bill Wasson, 84, from Glenolden, brings his pet cockatoo, Tiki, to the Wawa on MacDade Boulevard in Folsom almost every day. It's been a cherished ritual at this location for the last eight years.
"He loves people and he's very independent," Wasson said. "He talks when he feels like it."

Tiki is a Greater Sulphur Crested Cockatoo from Australia, one of the most awesome cockatoos in the parrot family. They can live up to almost 50-100 years in the wild.
In this day and age, I would be afraid to leave him outside, sometimes people do cruel things for no good reason.
I think that Wawa is the VERY FIRST Wawa ever, they updated it but they have the ORIGINAL sign posted.
This location actually replaced the first Wawa! The first Wawa was a couple blocks down the street, it's now a bank. It's gotta be one of the first gas pump Wawas though

The original was located on MacDade Blvd and Swarthmore Ave. It is now a credit union/bank. Miss the old Wawa there.
