Lol the obvious choice is Project Quarm with 1500 people don't listen to these P99 people. If you want a real populated server Project Quarm is where everyone is at. You can check eqemulist on google to check player count of servers
Thanks to everybody in the EQ private server community for putting in all the hours of work that I can even make a video like this! If anyone wants to group comment and I'll send a discord link.
What about the f2p servers on the steam plateform? Im sick and tired of easy MMO and been craving some oldschool MMO pains (yeah..im a sadist 😂❤) is it worth playing on the f2p servers? Or should I bite the bullet and pay for private servers?
That fear you mentioned is that same fear as in Final Fantasy XI. Your strolling along trying to find adventure but instead you just found blood thirsty beetles ready to flay the flesh from your bones and give you that beautiful Level Down music :( main difference i noticed there is that you dont lose your gear.
I have really tried to get into FFXI at some point as I'm a big fan of the whole series. But I've struggled even as an experienced mmo player - it's a bit tricky. I also just want to play it because I'm a big fan. Got a large FF retrospective coming up on this channel when I finally finish it.
@@oldmanbanjo HorizonXI is a FFXI private server in a similar fashion to that of P99 for EverQuest. Idk how far the server plans to go but it certainly has that feel of what early FFXI was supposed to feel like.
Trying to organise stuff. I'll repost a discord link. The issue with the server atm is that it's quite crowded. And I've got some personal issues at the moment taking me out of being able to game unless it's for content - but definitely download the game.
I got on green when it was first going, started a druid and bard. While it was some good nostalgic times, it was not the same. everything was farmed with surgical precision, everything was documented online for instant look up. The struggle was not the same, and it was a fleeting empty experience. People that did not play when it first came out dont understand what they missed, and this era of gaming will never occur again.
I feel that. I played elden ring on release. Everyone else I know who played it just looked.up.playthroughs and guides. I thought what's the point? It's all about exploration you're just ruining it for yourself. And at that point I can't even talk to other players about it because kids these days just spoil everything for themselves
I hear you there. It was the same with world of Warcraft as well when released . As in the rerelease of vanilla. Everyone knew what to do.. no new experiences. No discovering the new world and journey together. It was revisiting a land that had already to discovered and Conquerd. At least we have the memories! Visiting a new realm , a new world, a new dimension. Before anyone else! Bless you for sharing
Agreed. alright ya'll whats the next big MMO or adventure RPG game that we're all gunna collectively experience anew together? The feeling is addicting - I feel like Elden Ring was the only time I got into a game at launch and played enough to get this feeling
one of the best parts of Everquest was, me and my guild found out how to crash i'm not sure if it was the zone, or the entire server, i just remember a GM scolding us and telling us not to attack the nameless npc's ever again, but our excuse was, we were trying to find the quest npc for Fiery Avenger(Before epic quest) and the thing had no name
I recently started playing a single player / solo server locally on my laptop. Id like to learn how to edit the game just a little to let me make it class-less (make everything all/all, including armor/weapons/spells/songs) single player, it would be nice
I'm looking forward to the day when P99 is supported by Daybreak directly so they can trade different efforts back and forth. 1999 has talked about finishing some of the broken quests people don't believe it but it's in writing.
Nice video, i played EQ up until Discord, then went to WoW, of course ive been in and out over the years but at this point ive been out for 5+ years at this point. The Mac emu server sounds like the best bet, but what about retail? Could I ever catch up and is it worth it? WoW classic is considered a hard game this day and age, alot of prestige......i always ask these people hmmm did you ever try EQ lol
It'll never happen, but I wish we could experience EverQuest with the original 1999 client. The Titanium client is okay, but the original client was legendary.
I dedicated my life to being able to afford multiple subscriptions. Giving Daybreak my money is one of the few things that I'm actually long-term happy about
Everyone go play EQ. New TLP soon!! I disagree with the comments in the video. This is a great way to group with lots of people and the population should stay around for the long future. The servers this is going to copy are the most popular
You've got probably 6 months more of classic before the first expansion hits (kunark). Jan first was the plane of fear/hate/air? And changes to legacy items.
I may checkout the TLP. I've just had so many issues with Daybreak games over the years. I also like supporting small fanmade MMORPG projects. It's kind of one of my obsessions on this channel.
I went from QUARM to P99. When you're in a group; that is in a line of groups waiting to play. I'll repeat, WE WERE NOT DOING A DAMN THING and we sat there for 2 hours to GET IN TO PLAY, and I had 10 minutes left to play at that point. QUARM is that bloated. Also, it doesnt support AMD based technology, use anything AMD and you may get choppy results. When you can die when your lagged model is behind you, then you are dead. Random warping gets your group killed.
I love the krono economy. So much fun farming and trading them. As far as pay to win Why does that negatively affect you? If someone wants to pay the money it supports the makers of the game and keeps it going. Some of us having endless hours to play and others have to work all day, why shouldn't they be allowed to buy gear and items to have fun?
I'd checkout Project99 at the moment. I haven't been on TLP due to being super busy/ill lately. I've heard news of some new good servers, reddit/google should help.
P99 green is the place to be for as close to classic. There is great raid competition in P99 green, so you can lvl up and do that for ages. Quarm just takes too many customizations imo.
Green and Blue were great but it's like a decade in and almost to the point where it's become redundant... almost out of options at lvl 60 after a decade will do that to ya. Quarm is a breath of fresh air regardless of customizations
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation of John 20:15)
Quaram was good when I made this video. I'd never do TLPs now. In my experience the mods on P99 were very good about bots, to the point of maybe being too strict (people were getting banned for playing with their wife on another PC).
Corpse Runs are why most of us will never play Classic EQ again past level 15. We all hated it back when it was live and it sucks even more today. CR ruin the game period.
No i should NEVER play classic eq again , i played my way up from beta fall 97 to date and i have done my share of old eq. Dont see even ONE reason to do it again...

I played the Pantheon "Alpha" today for a few hours. You might be pleasantly surprised how similar it's looking to Everquest again.

Is there a server with classic and not multiboxing allowed ? ^^ like 99' old times?
You can turn hard core on in everquest
Wayfarer's Haven is also a good server.
will tomax have crs? de-levling?
Is P2002 aka Wayfarers any good?
Is quaram easy to install? I play a lot of eq2 but never tried the original
Yes it's easy to install.
I would recommend against quarm. With no pick zones and a high population it's just an LFG waiting room chat simulator.
Oakwynd has instances of every raid zone, so you wont have to compete wiyh bots for epic drops.
