i've never gotten to try it myself because i'm still renting a place, but i've always been super interested in doing a very deep tank. is this something that's on your list or is it just not realistic to do this easily?
You know, this is also instead of an update.... a little behind, but still a nice tour! Thank you!
Move your Molly's in the discus tank they will calm right down
Video 73 of asking for a tank with some freshwater dolphinfish please.
I love Dave and his shop is amazing! So cool to see the two of you together!
I’d love to see a collab between the two of you
Heyy baba MJ, when are we seeing you here at MD.
GREAT MJ!
Hi MD its the 14 year old kid from the last video I got a bunch new plants and they are doing well besides my tissue culture crypts they just disappeared they might come back but i dont think so I think I will invest in some fertilizer and a brighter light thank you for the advice you really are a big inspiration for me and thousands of other people.
nice one. And even I get most of the tissue culture crypts melt back. Give them a few weeks and you will start to see fresh shoots appear. Definitely invest in a new light and ferts if you can as will also help. That is of course if lighting brightness is the issue. Even cheap lights can be bright enough. It's all I used to use and even now, 80% of the lights in the studio are in the lower cost, entry level range.
If you want a good cheap light I would recommend Sansi grow bulbs. They are about £15 but incredibly powerful. My plants grow ridiculously fast under them and still look amazing. You would need to buy a clip holder to hold the bulb but there still cheaper than traditional plant lights and give a similar high quality result.
@noodles4272I heard the produce way more algea? I was thinking about putting them in but the algea thing put me off
@noodles4272I've found the same 🎉
Crypt melt is a sure thing when adjusting to new water. And if it’s a light issue, depending where you are, check out hygger. Hygger grows plants really well and are budget friendly. And I love that MD is still helping future aquarists even with the popularity he has attained. Keep doing what you’re doing MD!
Love Dave. I placed a really big order when I done my 5ft tank. He phoned me up to ask what day I’d like it delivered. Thanked me and I remember coming off the phone thinking you just don’t get that kind of care from large companies and corporations. Would love to go to his shop but it’s a mad trek from Scotland to Dave’s shop but I’ll always order from him
Happy New Year MD. I wanted to thank you for all you have taught me the last few years. Having kept fish for 30 I have had more pleasure with them in the last 4 than the whole of the rest. That is because you taught me how to set up substrates and thus grow plants. My tanks, I have a 4’ and a 3’, have looked so stunning and the fish love them. I’ve always been a great fan of rainbows. I’d never been able to successfully grow plants before. I’m just about to branch out and set up my first shrimp/nano tank for cherry red shrimp and neon green rasbora. I’m disabled now and going out is often not easy but having the tanks enables me to travel in my mind. Thank you MD for bringing so much joy into my life.
Dave is probably the definition of just a chill guy😂
Dave made it! Great to see all the visits as of late. Love seeing the diversity and acceptance that there is no " one way" to setup tanks. 🔥 ❤
It's nice to see someone who is in the trade and has gotten to know MD visit the gallery in person and see their response. I'm really looking forward to what you two create together!
Dave comes across as a really nice guy. It’s great to see how you always stay true to yourself, MD. That’s definitely the reason your channel has become such a success. Keep it up-I never miss an episode. Love from the Netherlands.
Congratulations on your YT journey. From your small shed to your own studio. Keep on rockin.
It's amazing to think how much success you've had since I first started watching your channel! Every tank you have ever featured has been beautiful. If I ever had the chance, I would love to see your studio in person. Would be so satisfying. Congratulations!
Thanks MD. I started with a 60 L which went to a 90L then a 140 L then a 300L fully planted out in your style. Love the fully planted look. Nearly got devorced but its been a great 6 month journey. Keep it going 😀
Hey MD, have you ever thought about offering tours of your studio? It would be amazing to see it all in person! Keep up the great stuff you do!
I travelled 4 hours today to go to Aquarium Gardens to pick out some hard scape for my very first planted Aquarium. Dave blessed me with his help cos I was a little overwhelmed at first cos it's my first venture into aquascaping and aquariums. He made it look so easy it was hard to replicate what he did for me in his shop when I got home but he was such a great help. Also your tanks are looking great in the show room!
Hi MD out of all the fish tank people i have seen on yutube, i like youre style the best. I recently bought a 10 feet tank and my aquascaping is going to be done in youre style. Keep up the good work. Thank you for youre info.
MD i am not a aqua-scaper but i am a breeder so i can say that your blue acara breeding pair will need some dither fish to make them feel comfortable try watching Adrians fish room he should have a video on breeding them.
I appreciate the reference to "Natural" tanks philosophy as opposed to the manicured "ADA" style tanks. Hey "Algae Happens", I prefer to embrace it rather than fight with the natural order of things. Keep up the good work MD, shout out from Georgia USA
I eventually want to see a paludarium from you with vampire crabs and shrimps. Would be really cool to see with your style of building.
@7:40 i really wish i was Dave you all, finally got an answer on java fern. Have asked MD countless times how his java fernz behaves in new scapes. This guys "MD" is guru in this field so obviously want to learn a lot from him but he just not there😢😢😢. Above all bro, your works are top notch. Was all over the net going for pristine tanks like green aqua or Dave's but they are by no means in my reach. Your style however especially with dirt and sand etc has been a game changer. I am even selling plants from my non co2 tanks because they have the organics releasing the co2 etc under there. Dude they grow and grow even the slowest of plants are doing well in my tanks because of you. Be blessed and keep it up with the simple stuff, they make the world go round.
Wow, I can't believe you had 1000 subs only 5 years ago... you have great content and are a huge inspiration for me, I have learned so much from your videos.
It’s always fun to see a review of the tanks. What fun to have your friend, Dave, in to do a tank and also to view all of your tanks. It sounded like he is really interested in your “very low maintenance” tank. Great fun!
Dave set me up on the way to aquascaping. Brilliant guy, the shop is def worth a visit
Thanks to you I got 2 tanks, a 40 ltr and a 180 ltr and have done them as natural as you've done yours, you're such an inspiration to anyone with a tank 👌
What a great video. Aquarium gardens is now where I buy all I need for my tank. This is due to both you MD and your visits to the store. Dave you are a cool guy. Fantastic collab guys .
I’m definitely inspired by your jungle stye. Whilst I love the look of the pristine aquascaped tank, I don’t have time to do weekly maintenance either so the eco planted tank is what I go for as well. Thanks for all the different tank styles you have created as well as all the plant knowledge you share on your channel.
Great walk through. Thank you for sharing. Love seeing enthusiasts enjoy each others work!
Great Tour! Glad you were able to get together in your friend.
Stumbled on your channel months back and now I breed shrimp. It’s been one hell of a ride lol. Thank you for getting me into the hobby through your content! (Had to “chill bro” my wallet while writing this)
I really like the collaborations you are doing lately.👌
Great video! It’s great to see how far the studio has come along
I love the tank with no plants, because if my plants ever don't do well I think, "F plants. MD has a tank without plants." Please always keep this one! LOL Seriously, amazing video. Congrats on his stamp of approval!
5:04 - the fish keeper's fallacy "im getting more" LOL
Hey MD, I'm slowly becoming interested in becoming a professional aquascaper, or just fully investing myself into this hobby while helping others get into the hobby or provide the knowledge that I have so that way others can own a beautiful aquarium. I'm just unsure on the steps that I would need to take, you have been a big inspiration for me and I would appreciate any Advice that you can offer. Thanks for another amazing video
MD awesome to see at your Gallery 😮 I mean Studio. Looking forward to the build my man.
Unterhaltsames Video mit zwei "Profi-Aquarianern"! 😀
ouu gotta wait for the build!!! cant wait to see it 🙏🙏❤❤
Would love to see you do a Dutch tank? I have a tank that I keep going back and forth on either Dutch with schooling fish or wood and rock pleco/catfish. I heard you wanting to do a pleco/cat tank, so I can't wait for that. I have in the making a cory/shrimp/chilli rasboras.
I love like the style of the tanks you do I have a new 30 gallon tank and I gonna try that style
Hahaha, The Background Level of Mess! I feel you, thats me :D
Nice shop! You should get a vacuum/mopping robot to help clean the floors. I think it would work great that small space!
I absolutely love your channel! I have learned a ton about aquascaping and aquariums in general. I wanted to ask if you have ever built your own canister style filters (diy)? Keep up the good work! I will be a subscriber for a long long time! 🎉 cheers!
Cool video. Cant wait tell you and dave scape the tank i know it will be a banger video. Thanks for sharing.
Ps. Yes open to the public and bring me as a guest from America. 🥳🤪😁
I'm always going to love the rainbows!
You make this hobby easy and fun. Congratulations.
I would love to see you try a brakish tank with pseudomugil cyandorsalis!
Happy Christmas MD! 🎉
MD, have you ever thought about setting up a Tanganyika aquarium with species like leleupis, A. calvus, N. tetrocephalus, Synodontis, and so on?
Some stunning tanks, look unreal
i also like the more 'let nature do it's thing approach'
I like the stone in the overgrown tank
Hey, have you ever considered opening to the public as an aquarium gallery? I think it would really inspire people to see them in person as well😁
Man, I wouldn't trust the public with all those open-top aquariums😅
7:12 "Studio not gallery" 😂
@garethdavies1128 lmao I love that!
What an awesome crossover!
Digital timers are menace! I got a digital timer for my little Dennerle scaper tank with the bloody mary colony and I thought I had set the time properly, but it kept switching the light on....
Analogue timers are the best! You may hear them a tiny bit, but they don't bother me at all. And I'm autistic and I've got quite a lot of sensory issues.
I like the jungle look! 😁
Everything looks truly amazing. You're on another level. Your own level.
Nice studio MD. While i like seeing you build your scapes, how about telling people what filters you use for each tank & how fast the flow is. You have a lot of large tanks with large filters but hardly any visible flow, do you have the filter flow turned right down ?.
Wow, Timmy’s tank has never been this beautiful (low on detritus and algae) Those house plants seem to do a great job! Or is it Kate cleaning it? 🤔😂
Love the studio visits.
Hey MD
Please do a tour of Japan and the ada/amano scapes, something a bit different for the channel maybe.
I watch all your builds and love all the content
Best regards
First off love your channel it has taught me so much and I’m about to start scaping my new 20g long. But I had a question I lost 9/10 cherry shrimp overnight while I was not home, fully cycled tank, water and temp are great, planted tank with some duckweed (not much it was just added about a week prior) I was told by the fish store I went to it most likely was an oxygen deficiency. How does everyone else keep shrimp in a planted tank without an air stone? Trying to avoid adding an air stone if possible, if needed it’ll be turned on at night when the light is off
Hi MD, love your channel and your vids and have been a fan for several years. Really like how you balance budget and maintenance with great looking tanks!
One question/possivle video idea..
I know most of your setups are based on a 'standard' tank profile which wider more than it is tall, but how would you apply your methods to a tank which is inverted? i.e. one which is taller than it is wide?
Would you need specific plant types at the various depth levels? and what type of lighting, filters, fish stock would you recommend?
Cool tour !
❤❤❤
Cheers from France ❤❤❤
once again! another video out of the blue to relax with
i love the jungle look. 👍
I feel like there should be a MD discount code for aquarium gardens 😃
So many beautiful tanks
Yess! Was hoping you posted :)
Hey man been watching your videos for a while now and want to get into the hobby. Where do you get your tanks? I don’t have many real fish stores around where I live so the pet stores only have ones with rims. Do you order them online? I’ve seen them online but I’m scared of getting one that leaks or comes broken. Thanks for your helpful videos and keep up the great work. 👍
What’s the big plant you got from Dave that’s in your 8ft? In the middle drapes over? Marifolium or something? Looks nicer / different from sessiflora !
Dave is the truth!
I havent watched the whole video yet, but wondering if you still have your saltwater tank. I wanna see the snowflakes again!
What’s Dave’s channel?
Hi MD, are you planning on doing the high flow tank soon? I’ve recently built one and want to see how you do it!
like he said, when setting up a tank, algae is the best sign of a healthy, ready to flourish tank
I don't mean to pry but I'm super curious how you support the cost of the studio. I ask only because there is nothing like it here in Massachusetts that I have found so far. If there were I would go volunteer there, and there not being a studio or gallery locally I contemplate the idea of starting one, but wonder how to support it.
Awesome video 😊
Hey MD I know ur probably never gonna see this but I’ll ask anyways.
I challenge you to one of the hardest fishkeeping challenges on earth do a planted tank with a COMMON PLECO feel the pain as she tears up all your plants every day will need to be dedicated to planting back plants and water changes if you dare call yourself an expert then try this challenge good luck to you sir🐟🐟
Hey! I need to know if the plant that u used in your rice field set up survived cause I wanna do something similar
What happened to your goldfish?
Feel like I’m watching someone anxious about a first date!
Today i learned Timmy poop is very poopy 😂 great vid, beautiful fish in beautiful homes
The Iwagumi needs to stay forever :)
How loud is the ambience room noise in your studio? Curious with all the tanks. I just got one tank and it feels loud enough
Where can we find the Pro Gallery? No youtube?
How do you combat with fish poop building up in your sand?
We need a special video about the no waterchange thing .
Hi
Quick question, which maidenhead aquatics do you go to? like to pay a visit
Hi MD, what is the size of the shallow cory and betta tank? Couldnt find anything in the description of the original video or in other comments :(
Very nice aquariums.
Can anyone offer tips on how to train/trim red tiger lotus down rather than with the leaves floating?
Are those eggs on the wood in the 8ft?
how big is your blue acara breeding tank?
Build wild betta setup pls ❤❤❤
Hi, how often do you actually do a water change on your discus tank?
MD has a video on his channel about the no maintenance tank. Believe it's the Jornal from day 1.
@jeffdriver693 I'm curious about the discus tank in particular.
Love this! What’s Dave’s RUclips?
At the start of a video I noticed an angel fish intensively breathing air in 8 foot tank
What happened to the goldfish
you should make a christmas themed tank
TDS AT THE TAP IS 150?! Are you kidding me?!!
Ours is like 550 in california here and the tanks range from 800-1000! I even top off with super low tds alkaline water because it's also more acidic here at like a 6.5 so I try to balance 7-8
