I completely understand your choice to have a C-section. I’ve only had c-sections. It doesn’t make you any less of a woman. It will definitely give you more peace and control over the birth. In the end, you will have your beautiful baby. ❤️❤️❤️
If it makes you feel any better, I had a baby at home with a midwife and it was terrible. I did not feel like I had enough help, and if I could have I would have gone to the hospital and gotten an epidural. Hang in there! 3 weeks and you'll have a daughter🥳
So midwives don't allow epidurals?
They just aren't allowed to administer them. Only an anesthesiologist can do that, and I've never heard of it being done at home.

@@samg873 the only thing intravenously they can do is replenish your fluids. other than that when an emergency arises they have to take their clients to the hospital and take care of them assistance from the staff at the hospital.

My scheduled csection was by far my most peaceful birth! My first was vaginal but I was in labor for 36 hours, second emergency csection after 16 hours, third uterine rupture and emergency csection after 27 hours. My 4th baby was scheduled and I was so awake and it was so amazing.
Your feelings are totally valid! It’s okay to want a midwife and a homebirth but then choose a planned c section given all you’ve experienced ♥️ Idk if you have a doula but I’d definitely recommend one if you have another baby - we can support with c sections + VBACs and help you understand that you DO have options even with a planned c section. It’s does not have to be your OBs way or the highway. Also, I recently supported a family who had a VBAC after 3 cesareans - it can be done! Sending love

I completely understand your decision about the c-section. I remember being so angry when I watched Finn's birth story. You were treated so badly. You deserve to be in control of your own birth and I am so happy to see you make this decision and be at peace with it. You're an amazing mama.

I had 3 c sections too!! My first one was scary and emergency. I know exactly how you feel. My last 2 c sections were planned. I liked knowing the date. 😊

I live in Elsinore and I am having a scheduled c section because of my last delivery. Since it’s scheduled, I chose Sharp Mary Birch Hospital in SD. I know it’s far but I love that the hospital is only for moms and newborns. The more research it did, the more I was convinced. I’m due November 8th and praying the drive will be worth it. You had to do what you think is best for you.. unfortunately births don’t tend to go for plan but your allowed to have your reservations definitely. But it’s good you’ve found peace, your allowed to have your opinions and the way you want to do things. Sometimes I think professionals need to listen to the mother more and there thoughts instead of throwing all the negatives at them. Can’t wait for baby girl is here time is flying! ❤❤

I had two home births after my c-section. But honestly if I didn’t have such a traumatic experience in the hospital I 💯 would have scheduled myself repeat c-sections as well or at least went in for an epidural, my midwives were amazing but I still don’t enjoy labor etc. I’m happy you came to peace with your c-section. That’s amazing! Every women should get to deliver their babies how ever they choose!! Congratulations! 🎊 🎉

If it helps anyone... our obgyn here is a big office that offers obgyn as well as midwifes who are also certified nurses...
If you need a c-section the obgyn steps in but the midwives are amazing, work at the hospital and can still get an epidural. Best of both worlds....find a practice like this

In the medical books in its 40-42 weeks that is technically full term pregnancy 🤰 but a doctors have never gone past 39 weeks.
I was going to go vaginal for my first but ended up getting a scheduled c section.
Like you, I would love to experience a natural birth but fearful of the pain and things going wrong and it might be a quite traumatic experience.
Thinking of going through another scheduled c section. My first experience was amazing so calm and peaceful ❤️ Got to hold baby straight away.

You have had so many tough experiences around birth, you deserve a peaceful birth (however that happens). I have had a scheduled c-section, and it felt very routine and simple. You still have choices, as long as baby is okay, so be assertive (or have Bryan do it). Your feet hurt from Relaxin, the hormone that prepares your pelvis for birth (and other joints).

8 Missy is actually doing C-section Cause she got more used to that and she really was doing very hard decision about that but she went with c-section

If you went in to labor before the scheduled c-section, would you try for vbac since you did consider that originally or would a csection just take place when labor began? I ask because it seems like an experience you were trying to have. Good luck with whatever happens :) !
no i think she would just go do the csection
She wouldn’t wanna do a vbac cause she didn’t have v bacs with the boys so it would make sense for her to do a c section with this baby
Even having a csection can not go peacefully, I had a traumatic first birth as I was frowned upon, knew something was wrong they didn’t listen. Gave birth and lost 3 litres of blood because I had a tear in my uterus. Second was a planned csection and that didn’t go to plan, as they pulled him out I bleed out again had to be put under and ended up have a hysterectomy as they couldn’t stop the bleeding and I was arresting.

She’s not gonna do a vbac she’s already made the appointment for her c section

I personally only consider 40 weeks to be full term. That's because a baby might not 100% be ready until then.
So sad that medical freedom/choices have become so looked down upon. Wish you well tho as you are in the home stretch now ❤️

You're lucky you have the choice to have a planned c-section. Where I live, it has to be medically necessary to have one or insurance won't cover it.
What day did you find out that you were let
Missy so if you have a fourth and fifth baby in the future you can’t do c sections for those they only allow you to have three c sections
There’s nothing wrong with formula
She breastfeed Ollie and Finn and with the issue with formula factory in Michigan she probably doesn’t wanna take a chance

She had a c-section with Oliver and Finn they had to do a c-section for Oliver bc he wasn’t moving and for Finn bc he didn’t help missy dilate to a certain number
No they had to do a c section with Finn because her water was ruptured for too long so she was prone to infection

Honestly I'm tired of the debate. I feel like it's not a simple every ob is a jerk. The idea that the rule should be home birth that's it or you're "not giving birth" is just ugh! However not being comfortable in case something goes wrong with a home birth and needing a transfer would be a nightmare is also disgusting.
You're right, Missy, no such thing as perfect birth. Sorry you end up with the OBs that don't bother communicating. Shame there's no "let's improve things" the way I think it should be; pick a home birth but lets do better should the mother need to be transferred to the hospital. Pick a hospital birth with or without drugs; you're still giving birth. C-section.... chosing just because needs to stop but I feel like people would agree it's a doctor not caring about the patient. Though there's also the debate; what's a emergency vs the doctor is impa8?
All this makes me happy I'm at the end of what's considered the window to have babies. Still sux, but what a headache to be judged.
