Charlotte Tilbury use to work for Tom Ford that is why you see a lot of similarities in product packaging (especially their eyeshadow quad).

Yeah she (CT) was creative director for TF (owners by EL) which is why so many of the products are similar - the eyeshadow quad concept and the cream shadow.

Charlotte tilbury cream eyeshadows have been on my wish list for such a long time. I put on marie antoinette once at Sephora. And maybe five to six people asked me that day what I was wearing. Such a different color from that classic browny goldy champagne shades.
    Thank you. Great video:)

I just recently bought Marie Antoinette during the Sephora sale. So gorgeous and dimensional. Lasts well. Very useful for daytime or more glamorous looks, as a single shadow or with others. I'm very happy I bought it.

Marie antoinette is the only one I own and it's really such a special gold. Charlotte described it as an oyster gold.

Charlotte Tilbury worked for Tom Ford. She was the creative mind behind the TF beauty line before she created her own brand. That’s why you will find a lot of similarities between the two (and also why Tom Ford beauty has gone downhill somewhat in more recent years, IMO). I never tried either product because, despite having the world’s driest skin, I have the oiliest eyelids... and I have heard from people that the CT ETM doesn’t wear well. I just kind of assumed that the TF would be super duper similar and also not worth my time. I feel like I tend to hear more about the TF cream/powder duos than these cream singles, but I don’t have any of those either.

I have very oily eyelids and I find no matter how long wearing or creaseless an eyeshadow product claims to be, it still creases and breaks down on my lids, so no matter what the eyeshadow product, I always use urban decay primer potion in original and with that every eyeshadow stays put on me without creasing for hours, including the eyes to mesmerise. So I guess for some people no matter what they can't rely just on the eye shadow claiming to not crease etc and need a primer or just the formula of that eye shadow isn't good for them.

My fave pot cream eyeshadows so far have been the maybelline colour tattoo ones 😱 they are super cheap but the colour selection isn’t the best!

I agree with you about the lighter versus the darker colors. I’ve had all four and don’t care for the lighter. Mona Lisa and Platinum are great. I also love the naked bronze from Tom Ford as well as Spice.

Wow, such a detailed and useful review! I have Opale and I was thinking about getting Platinum but after seeing that perfect sheen on your lids I am definetly getting it. Just the right balance between matte and sparkly, it has such a beautiful glowing sheen, I absolutely adore it! Thanks for the great review! :)

Really enjoying your cream eyeshadow series. Cream eyeshadow really changed the game for me! I haven’t tried either of these two products yet, but they are on my wishlist. Bette from CT looks lovely for an everyday brown. Sphinx from TF looks absolutely beautiful and unique. I may try that one in the spring!

Agree /you....in my opinion, the formula of the Tom Ford cream eyeshadows is superior to the CT. The CT cream shadows crease significantly more on my eyelids but I will admit her shade options ARE beautiful.

I use eye shadow primer and have never experienced creasing with these even though I have the oiliest skin ever with very oily eyelids. I always, always use a primer with all of my eyeshadows, cream or powder.

I have the Charlotte Tilbury in rose gold and really enjoy it! I especially wore it a ton during spring and summer. I’ve honestly never been drawn to the Tom Ford cream eyeshadows though. I have a few of the TF quads and I may purchase the contour and highlight cream duo but for some reason I’m not in love with the cream eyeshadows?

Hi Amanda. Do you think Tom Ford Platinum would also suit medium skin tones as an everyday glossy lid look? Or would it pull cool toned and/or make the taupe more apparent upon wear than the brown?

To me it seems like the lighter cream eyeshadow shades in general are more problematic.... I notice this across brands, whereas the more medium and deeper shades tend to be the best quality.

Have you tried using a setting spray-soaked brush to apply? maybe that will help!

    • @pumpkinspiced
      @pumpkinspiced 4 года назад +2

Try just priming, use a primer and not a concealer. I have super oily eyelids that will destroy eyeshadow of I don't prime. If I conceal before priming things get messy. If you have discoloration, you can also try a long wear cream shadow stick as a primer/ base. I use Bobbi Brown's vanilla. This evens out the redness on my lids and does not crease! I wear vanilla under CT's cream shadow in hot/ humid conditions with no issues.

Because we have different accents you shouldn't be so pressed about the way people say names. I mean as long as they trying ? I personally never get pressed when people butcher spanish & french words. My parent's are french and spanish and i have a bad english accent but i appreciate when people don't correct me or make an effort to understand what I'm saying.
