I Love It! Midge, u are so cool!!!When I was young, I tried to fake your voice, timbre, yes, but I didn't have enough technique)))) I have loved Ultravox all my life, and I consider it the main band in the formation of my musical religion! Thank you very much for being there!!!

I only just discovered this channel and I'm so excited!
I have followed your work since 1980. That in and of itself was a fluke, given that I was 13 years old living in the Southwest United States. It is now 41 years later, and I've loved virtually everything you have released. And I agree, *_Breathe_* is absolutely phenomenal. It's probably my favorite of your solo projects. A few tracks from your other solo albums may have a little more of an impact on me, but _only_ because of what was going on in my own life when I first heard them. But _objectively,_ *_Breathe_* is easily my favorite album of yours to listen to - _from first track to last._ So it's just so kooky to learn it didn't hit right away (19:36).
In 1980, my best friend's older sister was going to college in San Francisco and dated the college DJ. She came home to Albuquerque, where I live and brought back some music. She introduced me to sublime albums by *_Ultravox,_** OMD, Wall of Voodoo, Devo,* and *The Cure,* as well as a few singles from other artists here and there. These bands opened up my eyes.
With the exception of *The Cure,¹* I became quite the audiophile when it came to these bands, including whatever solo and side projects you and those others had done, _even to this day._
I soon became keenly aware of the disconnect between my city and the coastal cities of America. They had stations that played European hits. It was rare to hear anything but standard top 40 or standard Rock in my city back then. And regardless of the subsequent popularity of *MTV,* cable TV was still new and not everyone had it my area. And even still, in those early years rarely did they play something on *MTV* that wasn't already heard on our standard radio stations.
I think since nobody I knew had any idea about these amazing bands, they became even more personal to me than they would have otherwise. It took a few years for everyone else to catch up.
I was the kid with the Walkman on 24/7. It's how many came to describe me, and then remember me in later years. And it was your music and that early core group of bands that kept me company and made my life so much better.

    ¹ ─ I didn't follow them as closely after about 1984
