TRAILER | Lallantop Films bring a documentary by Rajat Sain & Roohani on the ongoing protests in Ladakh. This documentary talks about the burning issue of 'Climate Change' discussing how the global glacier melting has affected more than half of the population of the nation. The Himalayan Region is exponentially receding at the fastest rate and the whole region would soon be turning into mountain desert. The demand for the safeguard of the tribal region of Ladakh has always been in the rounds during elections. After the abrogation of the Article 370 in 2019, people of Ladakh welcomed the move with full vigour as Ladakh became a Union Territory but without legislature. Gradually, the voices of dissent began to rise in the deserted valley to safeguard the rights of the Tribal Region of Ladakh. Therefore, protests began, demanding Schedule 6 under Article 244 of the constitution. In this documentary constitutional expert Vikas Divyakirti explains: What is the Sixth Schedule, and can Ladakh be included under it? We also talked to activist Sonam Wangchuk who was on five-day fast over regional demands for greater autonomy. We also talked to the chairman of the Hill Council from BJP for his perspective. This film also discusses the issue of Village Migration because of the water scarcity in the area and the temporary solution to this problem which is 'Ice Stupa'. Watch full video to know more.

Either Vikas sir does not know how crony capitalism & authoritarian governments work or he is just being ignorant on purpose. Didn't expected these kind of views from such a respected personality. He did the same during Farmer protest. He always takes out intention of government and businessmen out of equation from his views everytime. Not only we need safeguard frm the competition that would disrupt the economic fabric of the ladakh, it would also cause tremendous amount of pressure on the fragile ecology .
Lahdc's of leh and kargil are just a mere puppets of the UT administration itself, having no say in the important subjects to legislate or execute.
And empowering them(councils) with larger authority is just conflict of interest for(ut adm.).
And Dr. Vikas giving his assumptions and conclusions sitting at a fancy studio in Delhi with his theoretical knowledge of the issue (not been here in the ground zero).
Is just a vague and nullified opinion to be considered.
We should n must continue our struggle for 6th schedule.

I support your views Brother. You guys need 6th schedule. I think Vikas sir does not know how capitalism works. For them your area is an another opportunity to make money. If your area won't be protected than buisenssmen will ruin your land by mining and many other illegal activities. Ladakh will be another Uttarakhand or Himachal Pradesh where nature has been compromised.
