I had been riding for three years, and finally got a real track bike. Having had a trail bike before, i had never taken it to a track, and so i was not sure how to ride. But you guys solved that for me, and I went for a full day and hit all the jumps, and because of your tips, I landed all of them. Thank you and keep it up!

I have been hitting the jumps better lately and mostly thanks to the jump technique video. I did lot of the mistakes mentioned in this video, actually all of them, but then I remembered some of the tips and have been gradually getting better, getting smoother with the gas and even being able to react if i am a little off in the jump. These are good videos for people like me, who don't have that one guy in the riding group, who teaching everything :D

Wow! This is such a great video and I wish I knew this stuff when I rode a lot years ago. I used to have that first problem and probably a little of all of these. Maybe that's why I never jumped much or that big. Another problem I had was not being able to tabletop to the right at all. I'd be screwed if the bike ever went to the right in the air. Also could never hit the rear break to bring the front down if I went back too far. It always looked to me like that was a problem with Evil Knievil had with most of his jumps. I never really thought about the mechanics of jumping this way though, and and not having this clear understanding of it made for this fear of bigger jumps that I never thought I could do because they were scary. I was always pretty amazed seeing some guys hit big stuff, but now I see the approach and everything applies to smaller jumps the same way as the bigger jumps. I'm pretty much over with those days anyway now, and kept my Enduro.

Wow, thanks heaps man. Left riding mx about 20 year ago and at the time was getting tuition from a Suzuki pro rider mate. Got cornering pretty much down pattern and was just starting to learn jumping, then we parted company and riding. Now few years ago took it back up and back to learning jumps, just what I needed to know. Question, when I hit jumps that land on a step up I can hit it real hard and land great, but, most table tops have me running to the chook pen, why?. PS I ride a YZ250 '07 big bore.

I wanna thank those guys who played the stunt doubles for all the crashes of the way not too do it,really it hurts to watch,ah but I know it hurt youse guys more,so thanks a ton.I saw the picture on the top of your post, and I had to check it out because that was me and most of my race buddies, all doin that boat anchor body movement, which just kill your distance mostly, and on a table top it don't make u pay but on race day when there is a real double and you don't know how to handle coming up short,I won't tell u how,a let these guys tell u,but there is a technique pros use when they come up short, but back to me and my race buddies,u real need to flow wit da bike and the big thing is not move back because that is where the bike is gonna move u naturally and if your back you can't control throttle,I learn this the hard way ,on 250 two stroke,oh yeah I jumped like 70 feet,oh I'm sorry my bike jumped 70ish,yeah I wasn't on it,but I did push the bars away and kept it flying perfect,ah perfect without me on board, well after I bounce back up off the ground, there is my photogragher buddy so I give him a thumbs up,and he just clicking away with his Nikon motor drive lock on my bike seven beautiful shots I got, none of me with my thumb up,all of them of my perfect style,of my bike as it flew perfect landed perfect, without me,my friends all given me carp how great I am jumping better then them even when I'm not on my CR 250,so I set off on a quest to learn to jump, and after studying Jeremy McGrath body position there is a lot of little things that u can only pick up on super slow motion, even stop frame by frame, what made me single our Mac was he looks so smooth and relaxed and effortless, and riding motocross is anything but effortless,it awsum to see someone who rides awsum, helping you Jack in the boxes out,you don't want to be a Jack in the box,it ain't pretty, terrible thing when I started hanging around the pro races, nobody was really good at jumping, except Mac,Emig was exceptional there was many that real had the body movement down,RJ,Bailey John O,Lechine,Ron was one that when I saw him live for the first time I could believe anyone could ride MX and their body not move at all because they were so perfect moving on the bike it was freaky,Emig is that way too...piece out don't be a Jack in the box, today s bike have better suspension.but you still have to work with it,pay attention...

What kinda face of a jump do you recommend for people trying to learn short ones or ones with a long one i was trying one on a short one and i feel the back suspension buck me alittle when i land
